I stayed here 9 years ago and knew about the mosquito problem, this time I was armed with sprays etc from the beginning and only had 2 bites, a bit of a miracle for me. The apartments are basic, I didn't do any cooking only boiled the kettle now and again. Sleeping was a bit uncomfortable, the beds are hard but functional. The meals at the bar and restaurant are reasonably priced, nice bacon. It was always easy to get a sun bed and the pool area is very clean. I would say you get what you pay for here. I like the fact that it is a small complex and the staff where friendly, had a good chat with the night porter the morning I was leaving. Being a non-smoker you do have to put up with people smoking inside the bar etc, as you do in all the places around. There was a mixture of people and no great Jeremy Kyle moments. If you want a self-catering place to stay and not want to do too much catering for yourself then this would fit the bill. My friends and I sampled the sangria and cocktails several times and they went down very nicely!! The music playing from the bar can be distracting if you are trying to read or listen to your own music.

we were unsure wether to book or not after reading some reports of the mariners but we were glad we ignored them.the apartments were clean and comfortable staff exceptionally friendly nothing was a problem and great with our 5yr daughter.there was cleaners seen everyday around the complex who were also friendly.Only grumble we had was that we booked for the kids club but when we got there it had been cancelled since the beginning of the year but Amanda made up for this, she was brilliant with the kids on the evening doing discos and kaoroke also selected acts to suit all ages young and old.The beach is fantastic and only a 20 minute walk away worth the walk as the pool was freezing . A must to do is the pirate show a little expensive but worth every penny. We are defininetly going back hopefully in 2011.

It's just too far from the main nightlife/cafes/bars (all along Pedro de Mas) and even further to the Port.(35 min walk) The beautiful beach is also good 25 mins away . In the immediate area are a few bars but none of note so it is a taxi ride to anywhere if you don't fancy the on-site offerings. Taxis are cheap though., about 5euros to anywhere in town.
There is only a small lounge area at the Mariners by the bar but nowhere peaceful. All seating outside Iis on plastic garden chairs. Entertainment is outside, always really loud and the place is over-run with mostly unsupervised kids all evening.
The rooms are good though, albeit the maid only came in to our room the day before we left. Overall this is a pretty looking place with a lovely pool and garden but you do feel isolated because of its location. ps take insect spray end Sept/start Oct as the mosquitoes are very active

after hearing mixed reviews was bit jubious to what would be there but could not fault it one bit. had the best holiday in long time, The pool was cleaned daily & plenty of sunbeds available each day. My son (11) was entertained daily with killer pool, darts, water polo which was kids & adults. There was entertainment on the evening, fab girls aloud tribute and comedy evening. There is bingo each nite for good cash prizes. Entertainment held by Amanda each day, she does a great job. The food was given 10 out of 10, breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was good tasty food with excellent prices, really cheap. All staff were very friendly. Would recommend to anyone and will definately go back when visiting Alcudia. Was warned about mosquitos but we took bottles of skin so soft from Avon and non of us got a bite, magic stuff. you saw some people with massive bites

We have just returned from ten days at the Mariners Club . The Apartment was spotless on arrival on Thursday but by Monday we had not seen a cleaner and had to ask when the apartment would be cleaned .... Pool very nice .. food good ... staff polite ... but oh my goodness !!!!! it was like being on holiday with Jeremy Kyle guests !!!! we had the neighbours from hell !!!!! if you like noise then this is the place for you !!!! horrendous !!!! If you like common go to the Mariners !!!!! If you want a bit of class this is not the place to be !!!!

My wife and 9 year old son have recently returned from a 12 day holiday at the Mariners Club. We were very disappointed with the standard of the apartments. We refused to stay in the first we were offered as it was dirty with mould on the walls and ceiling and had a damp, musty odour.
The replacement apartment did not suffer from the damp and mould but was far from clean, with dirty bathroom and urine clearly visable over the toilet bowl.
The apartment was cramped and very basic with the sofa beds that had no springs - they were rock hard and both my wife and I had difficulty sleeping for the whole stay.
The entertainment was too loud for such an enclosed space and did not finish until midnight most nights. There was simply no escaping the noise.
Be prepared to pay extra for the airconditioning and safe, both of which are a necessity and cost us about £60 for the duration of our stay.
Our tour operation claimed the beach was 800m from the apartment but it is a good 15 minute walk as is the main street for restaurants and shops.
That said, the staff were friendly and the food reasonably priced (best value is the buffet restaurant).
Avoid this like the plague if you want a quiet vacation in comfortable surroundings, however if you like karaoke, bingo and can sleep on a hard bed amid noise, then this could be suited to you.
