4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2010

My partner, 15 yr old daughter and i have just got back from staying at the bellvue hotel, (25th aug-5th sept 2010) and to be honest i was quite anxious as i had read all the bad reviews , but from the moment we arrived my mind was put at rest, we arrived just before miday , and was told when we booked that check in was at 3pm , but we decided to try our luck an our room was ready , our apartment block was fedra 1 , bit of a walk as was at the back of the complex , but the room was spacious , clean , and tidy , with regular maid service, the pool which served our block was also very clean an i saw someone clean the pool every morning , the only critism was the bar was closed , but it was less then a minute walk to the next pool bar. Mealtimes were fine , the only busy day was the day after our arrival as we were up late an there was a queue , but after that we realized 8,30-9 was quiet an in fact we never queued at all for any meal an if a table wasnt ready a waiter soon cleared one , the food was average , not a la carte but the you are in a 3star hotel , there was always a wide selection available an you could have as much as you wanted, there were also snack bars open in between meal times for burgers , hotdogs an chips . The entertainment was very much butlin style but enjoyable with great tribute bands from take that to amy winehouse , i did get bitten by mozzies but then the hotel is situated around a lake that runs right through alcudia town , i also got bitten outside the complex so in all fairness i dont think thats the hotels fault. I found the satff pleasant and polite and the grounds were well maintained . People have moaned that you had to pay for the karts , crazy golf an the kids rides but thats the case in most hotels these days , there was a boat that takes you to the beach , that was quite pricey at 3 euros per person for a return as was only a 5 minute ride , but again is worth doing once for the scenery. Just outside the complex there was a bus stop going to other parts such as c,an picafort, the port, the old town an pollenca which was about 1.50 euro per person which was quite reasonable , also horse an cart rides an a taxi rank . The shops were very touristy an do shop around some were expensive , there were also quite a few restaraunts and bars , kfc , burger king etc, and there was a good excursion shop , no frills , very reasonable an cheaper then booking trips inside the complex or with any reps , they also hire fans for 10 euro,s a week which is well worth it as no air con in the rooms , all in all i found the hotel gave me my money,s worth , it was a cheap holiday in the sun , if you want 5 star then you must book and pay 5 star prices , i would defanately go again as i found it enjoyable , and alcudia a quieter part of the island .

On reading before reviews i was mortified that my husband could put me in a place that sounded so terrible and now i have been there i cannot understand the complaints. Yes this is a 3 star plus definately not 4 star so i think the reviews are unjust and i will tell you why? On reaching the reception desk i thought here we go problems but was suprised there was none we got a really nice smiling lady who quickly dealt with our booking. We was given a map and directions to our apartment which we found without difficulty, the area we had walked was clean and the grounds/lawns freshly attended so far no problem. On reaching our room we were pleased that we backed onto one of the 8 swimming pools yes the room has dark coloured furniture and it looks like there is too much furniture but it was clean and the beds were freshly made, bathroom basic but ok with a kitchen area with kettle, toaster and two ring cooker if needed but as we were all inclusive this wasnt required. so far so good. We went to the diner and yes there was alot of people there but didnt need to wait long for a table the staff cleared tables really quickly, on checking out all the food we was pleasantly suprised at the choice and it was hot food not cold as previous hotels. There was food for everyone no matter what nationality so the comments about not being able to eat anything are rubbish they are even cooking fresh stir fry in front of you. Dont expect the best fillet of steaks as you wont get it but you do get lovely lamb chops etc and the soup is really nice. Breakfast is always the same as any other hotel abroad nothing changes there all eatable plenty of toast and tea coffee machines and fresh orange juice. As for waiting for drinks this place on average must have approx 3-4000 people staying there in peak time so yes there is a waiting time of approx 10-15 mins if you go to the all inclusive bars only, think about it? if you go to a night club with that amount of people there, you would probably have to wait a lot longer and with this place you are allowed to have 3 drinks each in one go so we never found it a problem. Entertainment? well they do look after the children very well on this, great for kids but do expect to pay for go carts, fun fair, bikes, fishing rods, lilo's but the kids club and the entertainment for them is fab as for adults there is bingo every night and entertainment tributes to different artists westlife, robbie williams, girls aloud, amy winehouse all pretty good, the stage is amazing and the compare was great. There is a masive lake where adults/children fish the kids are amazed by it with the amount of fish they can see and sit there fishing for hours all the children were free and happy to do what they wanted without causing any problems to anyone, yes kids get excited you expect that and there was a couple of tearful ones that were tired but we have all been there ourselves at one stage. If you wanted to be back in england there are the english bars outside the complex and places to eat. The beach is lovely and a nice slow walk to the marina is a must which wil take about 40 minutes. If you require beach or pool towels you give a deposit to reception and you can change the towels as many times as you want throughout your stay for a 15 euro deposit all refundable on return of towels, lilo's basic are approx 4 euros boat on complex to beach approx 3 euros each if you dont want to walk it, large flaggon of water 2 euro's spa supermarkets all over the complex for non all inclusives, a must to see is the pirates show book with thompson girls by spar shop also there is one to the caves where you go to a monastry up winding roads this is a must a few screams on the way up and back down poor coach driver but he was the best. So please do not be put off by the comments if you want 5 star go to sandals but not to turkey as we found turkey to be worse. My husband and i do go to sandals and we have definately stayed in alot worse places than the bellevue throughout the EU at least the weather has been lovely and we have chilled out for a week. Not the sort of place for a fortnight as would be too repetative.

If its not too late cancel now, you have been warned, the appartments were clean but the style is 1970. The so called snacks during the day were burgers, sausage, chips and salad, the dining area was a joke, the food cold very bland and at times un cooked, far, far too many people and not enough tables, if you get there as soon as it opens you do get a table without all the queing, pushing amd shoving, its an experience i will not be repeating, not value for money at all, infact we ate out on several occassions due to the set up and the food at . the hotel.

Having booked up at this complex very cheaply at the last minute due to the collapse of the company which organised the original accommodation, I was somewhat nonplussed to read a raft of negative reviews here. However, we found it adequate and excellent value for money with the all-inclusive option. Food was plentiful and some quite pleasant - a couple of times got really nice seafood. Decent service if you treat the staff with respect and show a bit of gratitude. Kids' club, (we have a 5yo boy and he loved it) many pools, pleasant environment, close to shops/beach etc. Some of the evening entertainment a bit dodgy (X-Factor reject tribute bands etc). Yes there are queues, but that's just the deal with all-inclusive. fine for a week, would probably get a bit tiresome for 2. The answer to that of course is to spend more money. A lot more. In all, for the deal we got, it was a perfectly acceptable and pleasant accommodation. If you want 5-Star, spend a few grand on the hotel instead of a few hundred. re the general punters, I only saw one obviously drunk person, who looked out of place and a bit of an idiot.

Stayed at the bellevue Aug 2010 we had booked last minute so expected to pay over the odds would not have minded but I think as an all inclusive hotel it was a joke. Our apartment was not too bad but there was hardly any light bulbs there was sockets hanging out of the wall no lights on the balcony and oh my god no air con, this was an absolute nightmare the temp was extreme and the fans did nothing to cool you down, there dd not seem to be any air con anywhere on the site so you got no respite. We had to ask for our room to be cleaned which they did quite swiftly we also had to ask could they clean the corridor as the floor from our second day was disgusting as thought mud had been dragged on a lilo bed or something.

We stayed ta Ceres 1 the pool area was swarming with wasps as soon as you put a drink by your bed it was covered in wasps the area around the pool was all mossy as though it had not been cleaned for months we saw two people on the same day fall because of this.

As far as food and drink went to have to wait in line to enter the dining room morning noon and night was quite frustrating we tried all different times we ended up eating out and taking food to our apartment to eat I have to say when we did use the diningroom the food was lovely a bit samey but we didint mind we had two children with us and as this hotel was supposedly family orientated there was no childrens menu so consequently we had to buy more food for the kids to eat we felt everything was rush rush and it was like being at school you couldnt relax and enjoy your food or go back for more as there were so many people queing. The uptairs secton was much better.

Of an evening once again we had to que for drink approx 45 min and to top it all we a four person group and could only get three drinks at one time so we had to go back twice to get drinks so I would say expect one of your party to spend the night in line waiting for drinks, there where two waiters serving on the all inclusive bar and two waiters serving on the paying bar. I didnt hardly seen any drunken people which was good but they shuold not limit your drinks like this. Its called all inclusive so if you want
1 or 10 it should not matter.

One positve point the entertainment was really good but missed most of it because I was waiting in line for drinks .

Everything on the site bikes boat to the beach inflatable at pool the fair were extra so again it is suposed to be all inclusive??????

Also we left a bag in a taxi with a mobile phone in it but we called it and the taxi guy returned it to our hotel which was really good of him so thank you.

Would I go back to this hotel? No people expect more these days unfortunatley and this hotel did not live up to what we expected

we have just arrived back from this so called hotel, should be advertised as butlins abroad, we go abroad all inc every yr and this is the worst one ever, full of rude loud, drunk adults, and children. language disgusting, rooms dirty, pool and pool area dirty litter left all around the hotel grounds spilt food empty glasses, blood on floor around pool left there for the two weeks we were there, long queues at least 45 mins every time you wanted a drink, staff rude and unfriendly, reception staff unhelpful, long queues for cafe cant call it restuarant, dirty crockery and cutlery, last nights food left on dirty chairs and under tables at breakfast time, if you are going to this hotel please try and change it is not suitable for childern they should not witness people fighting wifes being beaten up by their husbands/partners, parents swearing at childern, not watching them around the pool as they have been drinking since 10am, my daughter is 15 and doesnt witness this sort of behaviour at home i do not think i should pay over 2000.00 for her to see such behaviour, all i can say is i feel i have spent 2 wks on a jeremy kyle programme, the hotel is a council estate in the sun, please think before you go.

This was a last minute booking and we went with a open mind after reading the reviews. We arrived at about midnight and were greeted by a very pleasant receptionist, who was most helpful and gave us a welcome food package. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, although the bathroom could have done with an up-date, but we weren't planning on spending much time in the room anyway. We enjoyed our walk to the lovely beach with beautiful clear blue sea.

The restaurant and cleaning staff could not have worked harder, although the food was similar most days in the restaurant, there was plenty of healthy salads and fruit if you didn't want to eat chips all week.

We really enjoyed the evening entertainment in the show garden, with good tribute bands and fun bingo, with prize money of up to 400 euros, so well worth a go. All in all, we had a great time at the Bellevue but did also make to most of exporing the surrounding area using local buses to visit Alcudia old town and Puerto Pollensa. We avoided expensive trips to water parks.
