Owner description: This Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed 18-hole golf course opened in 2003. Situated in the northern part of the mediterranean island of Mallorca, Alcanada is located right by the sea. The 6.499 meter long course blends naturally into the typical mallorcan terrain. The namegiving island with its lighthouse, just off the shore, can be seen from most of the holes. Apart from the splendid sea view, the players are surrounded by pine and olive groves. Even though a young course, Alcanada is already recognized by a number of well known golf magazines and golf guides as one of the finest courses in Spain and Europe.

“It's a must play”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

Played the course in June 2012 and having played several golf courses in Mallorca, this is definitely one of the best. The ocean views from almost every hole are spectacular. Holes 1-5 form an inland loop, meandering through mature trees, and it's when you reach the elevated tee of the 7th hole that you really appreciate the expanse of the course and its stunning location. It's a challenging course, fairly heavily bunkered, but it's the huge greens that are likely to cause you the most problems as they are not the easiest to read. You'll certainly receive a warm welcome at Alcanada - it's highly recommended.

“Top golf course !!”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

This really is right up there as one of the best courses on the island, if not THE best !! The views are stunning, right across the bay, with the lighthouse - it really has got it all ! It's a great course which has it's challenging moments, but isn't going to beat you up if you're an "average" golfer either. I loved it.

As for the food in the restaurant.....this is NOT to be missed. Incredibly good !!

If you're considering golf in Mallorca, then I recommend a visit to Alcanada.

“Alcanada Golf Club”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

The Alcanada Golf Club is one of Mallorca's best golf courses and one that every golfer visiting Mallorca should play. Located right beside the Mediterranean on a quite bay in the north of Mallorca the course's front nine winds through forests of pine, olive and oak trees before returning to the clubhouse. Meanwhile the back nine has holes that sweep to and from the sea with stunning views of the tiny offshore island of Alcanada and its picturesque lighthouse.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr the layout is beautifully maintained and can play to various lengths from different sets of tees, 5,645 metres par 72 from the blue tees right up to 6,499 metres from the back tees. The beautiful stone clubhouse has a large terrace overlooking the course on which you can relax after your round and enjoy some of the restaurant's excellent cuisine washed down with a cold beer or local wine. And, should your swing need some work, the club has its own golf school with multilingual, experienced PGA pros.

I loved visiting and playing the Alcanada Golf Club and will definitely play it again next time I'm in Mallorca.
