Botel Alcudiamar Hotel

This Hotel was fantastic, you cannot fault it. hotels location is fantastic, within walking distance of shops, restaurants and taxi's in the town. The entrance is beautiful with tall palm trees leading up stairs to the large reception, the decor is all marine styled, which suits this hotel as it is based at the marina docks. We arrived before 2pm, so a secure lock away was provided to keep our luggage in until 2pm. Outside the reception is the hotels own private beach, so no need to pay for sun-beds, and is probably the quietest part of Alcudia's beach front, just next the beach are rock pools, great for exploring. You can walk all the way around the hotel, as there is path leading from the rock pools to the sun decking. The sun decking overlooks the sea, in fact, the waves break directly underneath you. It is fantastic to enjoy and ice cold drink, while sitting on the decking overlooking the sea and a few boats. The bar/snack area is great and has everything you need. The cocktails however are slightly cheaper at the cocktail bar just outside the complex, but still overlooking the sea.
The rooms, we had a double room, not a suite, which had everything you needed. 2 twin beds, ample cupboard space, bedside tables, dressing table, small T.V., mini bar, handy for keeping drinks cool, and then enjoying them on the balcony, while watching the setting sun! There is a towel rail, as you are not allowed to hang your towels over the railing (which is good, as it does not spoil the view.) Beach towels are available from reception for a 10euro deposit. The quaint balcony is big enough to swing a cat! In the bathroom, the hotel provides the necessary toiletries and even bathrobes! Water pressure and temperature was good at all times. It has a wall mounted shower head over a bath, so the choice is yours whether to bath or shower. The cleaning staff came by daily and were so very friendly.
The hotel has a Jacuzzi and indoor pool, not heated, but warmer than the outside pool. The also have a small gym, a sauna and steam room. Every time we use these facilities we were the only ones! It was great and very relaxing. The infinity pool is beautiful, never felt full, and we never came across anyone saving seats with their towels. The pool area is just breathtaking and the waterfall makes it feel so peaceful.
The breakfast was great, you couldn’t want any more, the breakfast catered to everyone’s needs, with several varieties of breads and pastries, pancakes, hot food selection, fruit selection, cereals, yogurts, seeds, dried fruit, juice tea and coffee and even Champagne.
The staff were so friendly and helpful, we even asked for a restaurant that was recommended to us, and they had not heard of it, so the next day they found out that that restaurant had been closed down but advised which one would be better, and I can definitely advise you to go to Tapas Aliente – for tapas and try the best seafood paella ever at Bistro Mar.

We loved the Botel,we found the reception staff very helpful, perfect english and they gave us great restaurant reccomendations. The pool is beautiful and you can swim straight into the sea from a jetty but beware of the'MEDUSSA' or the jellyfish as we know them as I got stung quite badly on the face! The indoor pool, while quite small.is perfectly formed and very handy for rainy days, theres also a small gym, sauna and steam room. The rooms are not flash but are more than adequate with a kitchenette, shower, jacuzzi bath and a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool. The breakfast was so good that you didnt need to eat again until dinner. We will definatly be back!

The hotel itself is in a fantastic location, the pool is huge! never felt busy, you do need to do the towel on sunbed before 9 am but wasn't a problem.the beach is very near by,white sands and shallow clear water ideal for little ones.

the room a suite, was large, kept very clean as were the hotel grounds etc,,,,yres it is pricey but it has a good feel to it an exclusive one as the pool over looks the sea,its a very calming location and onlt minutes form the buzz of alcudia, however that itself its very family oriantated with plenty of restaurants along the marina and main strip.

We felt very lucky to be staying at this hotel it made our holiday!! will be going back, however everything is expensive not just the hotel but local supermarkets!!!

the hotel does seem to be mainly very friendly german guests but a few english.we will be going back!!!

the pool, beach location did it for us!!!

I have to say this is a lovely location and the pool was one if nicest I have seen.
The staff I found to be very helpful. We left early in the morning and we had breakfast laid out for us with coffee - really nice touch. However it is not a four star hotel but a 3 star in my opinion.
I would not pay full price for this hotel as I really did not enjoy the food and wine. I was half board and ended up eating out and having a contiental breakfast. I am not a fussy eater but my holiday is all about good food and wine.
I paid £300 for 3 nights and I was happy with that and so was my mother.
Please do not be put off as the location makes up everything else.

We hired bikes and found the boutiques very nice. Food along the harbour was very good

We have stayed at this hotel August 2006 and August 2007.
We are in fact staying again August 2008.
The reason?, the hotel is great.
The standard of accomodation is excellent and the staff are very friendly, helpful and professional.
Our room was a suite, which gave us two seperate rooms, one for my wife and I, the other was the lounge with a large bed/setee' for our daughter.
It was fully airconditioned and cleaned every day.
It had a small kitchen area, which we used to make snacks and keep our wine cold in its fridge.
The bathroom was large enough for its bath and a shower.
The lounge had easy chairs and a modern TV with some English programmes.
The real winner for us was that our room was on the second floor (It only has 2), with a balcony that overlooked the pool, with a sea view off to our left.
Most rooms offer some kind of view, but the cheaper ones overlook the front carpark. (These still face towards the sea though)
The Hotel location has that exclusive feel to it and the view out to sea is fantastic, even on the odd occassion that it rains!
It has its own small section of beach with shades and sun beds for residents only.
Our latest stay was 'half board', which is different for us as we generally 'eat out' when abroad, or cook our own when staying in rented villas.
The food was brilliant, both at breakfast and evening meal times.
It is hot and cold buffet style and was always kept in tidy and in order and well stocked.
The evening meals in particular were of restaurant standard with so much choice which catered for all types of diners and their children.
The hotel even has nightime entertainment, which was usually a local band or duo performing in a very relaxed style outside on the terrace overlooking the bay.
Great to finish a hot day off with a drink on the cool decking.
The only negative comment I have is that the pool area gets full of 'towels on sun beds' very early in the day.
As long as you 'play the same game' it can be sorted.
The pool itself is of a nice size and is of the infinty type, which makes its edge seem to melt into the sea.
There is an inside pool along with a small gym area, sauna and 'treatment ' areas.
Port de Alcudia has certainly changed over the years and the area where the hotel is has had lots of money spent on it which shows in the facilities.
When we did eat out we never had a bad meal and service was friendly and prompt.
A trip on the horse and carriages is well worth a go, the operators don't rip you off and charge a standard fee.
All in all It is well worth paying extra for the quality of this hotel and we are returning because of these facts.

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times in 5 years, and have been surprised by some of the negative comments. The main reason for our stay is Location location location, as well as the self catering and the hotel itself. The hotel itself has gone through some change, eg it was firstly called and owned by itself, then was owned by Globalia and now Almersa.

The hotel is ideally located in Port d Alcudia, right next to the marina, and strolling distance to everything in the town.....especially the restaurants on the beach....Paella by sunset - could be worse :-)

The town of Port d Alcudia has everything you want. Lots of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shopping etc. Its a relaxing place but still ca get your essentials - eg daily newspaper (The Star) from the UK. The town is also driving distance to places like Alcudia (Markets on Sunday) and INCA markets.

The hotel itself is very nice. Its more of a resort than a formal hotel. The pool is large and nice. Have a look at the picture, its the same, swimming right next to the Med. There is a basic gym, with indoor swimming pool - which we used often with our 2yr old son as it was a bit warmer. We always went for a Suite room, as you have a seperate room, as well as cooking facilities which is good. The floor is tiled, and the room airconditioned, and hence can get a bit cool, but when its hot outside, its what you want. Again, the benefit of being close to town, is you can buy your drinks / food, and store in the kitchen and cook. We ofetn sat on our balcony and had some of those croketts and drinks for dinner by candlelight.....with sime Champagne watching the sun-set.

On the down slide, yes you need to pay for your car-parking - approx 7 euros per day. Cest la vie, a car is required as its cheap method of transportation from the airport and quick to get around etc. Also, the price may not be the cheapest on the island. This year we actually booked at the Viva Sunrise this year, but when we got there, it was just so far away from everything else, hence stayed at the Botel Alcudiamar. - great location. Im sure the Viva sunrise is great, and economical etc, but its location is not in the centre.

Again, I havent stayed at the hotel 4 times because it is that bad. Yes we have had ups and downs....but we will be back!

Stayed here for a week in June 2007 and found the hotel was very good. Rooms / reataurant and pool area are all very clean and maintained to a high standard, whilst the reception staff were excellent - couldn't do enough for us. The buffet breakfast was pleasantly of a high standard - didn't expect this being in europe. Also the evening meal buffet was good quality.

The hotel is also situated at the end of the marina so you dont get any people wandering past who dont belong there - also traffic noise is non existant.

The only down side was the service at the snack restaurant which we found was frustratingly slow.
