“Top hotel for children”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

Absolutely fantastic hotel for children. Amazing amount of choice in the restaurants( there can't be many that go home without gaining a few pounds) Hardworking entertainment team who put a lot of effort into their shows. I would think the only downside to this hotel is limited wardrobe space.

I holidayed here with my family, aged 3-53, who all loved it & hope to return. On arrival we enjoyed the complimentary champagne, and orange for the kids (or as a mixer!) which is always available in the cooling, modern & spotless lobby. The well stocked shop in the lobby was handy and I actually got cute little girls bikini sets for gifts at a better price than outside shops! Entire hotel was always spotlessly clean.
LOCATION
Big selling point for us. Right on the, very beautiful, beach accessed from the pool area exit. Sea was just perfect, though you can walk out for a really good bit just beware of the (kind of ) ledge that leads to suddenly deeper water. Pharmacy just around corner which was handy as was the supermarket & many gift shops. The central part of Alcudia was a short walk (All flat) down the road, about 10-15min, or only a few euros in a taxi.
ROOMS
Modern and spacious, plenty of space for my daughter & myself with room for more! Small fridge which was good for drinks and milk if you have a baby or toddler. Bathroom was very contemporary with fab shower equipped with body jet sprays(great for blasting the sand off lol) & hairdryer, though it wasn't powerful enough for my thick hair(bane of my life!!) Loved the balcony for watching the sunrise over the sea, so pretty. Maid service every day with clean towels, brush, mop etc.
FOOD AND AI
Seriously don't know how anyone can complain about the food choice as there was so many things to choose from. Everyone was catered for, even the kids were spoilt for choice!! Show cooking, delicious deserts & self service ice creams/wafers/sauces which the kids were delighted with. Cocktails were freshly made & lovely. Kids cocktails a great idea and really nice, great for kids with slushies & ice creams too. A really good AI as there was always something if you wanted it from snacks from pool bar to afternoon tea/coffee, sandwiches and cakes. Couldn't fault it at all.
ENTERTAINMENT
Well done to the animation team for such a varied programme. Daytime activities around pool and other areas great fun and suitable for all ages and abilities. You are invited to join in with encouragement but never forced or made feel uncomfortable. Night times - kids stuff first(show, disco) which was a great hit with everyone esp the kiddies! Bingo followed then the show/act, concluding disco. A great atmosphere with the talented entertainment team really making sure people had fun. TIP - get down early as seats fill pretty quickly outside.
POOL AREA
Such a lovely pool area with 3 pools. Kids pool and waterslide was a godsend lol Two slides for older/younger children, both very safe and obviously great fun by the use they got!! The only problem I had regarding the pool area was the amount of (sorry no offence intended here!) Germans booking lounges then disappearing half the day. One woman even gave my girl a row for sitting on the edge of one(by mistakenly thinking it was mine) even though it was unoccupied for about 4hrs, it was her friends apparently!
A FIRST CLASS HOTEL in beautiful area, hard working staff. Highly recommended!!

I have visited all of the balearic Islands and this has to be the best. The hotel is absolutely stunning as is the beach on its door step. The hotel was very clean, fantastic food and the beach was out of this world. It is now one of my favourite locations and I will definately return. There was loads for the kids and the evenings were great. Lots of entertainment for the kids and loads of places on an evening to stroll. Would recommend highly!!

Booked through Thomson, stayed all inclusive. Most of the people here were all inclusive, and you'd be mad not to do so.

Whole place spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated to a high standard.

Restaurant is self service, with a vast buffet of things to choose from at all mealtimes. Very high quality of food to choose from - the highlights for me were veal steaks, pork chops, profiteroles, a chocolate fountain, etc etc. It's really hard to think of a negative about the food, only thing I would say is that the soup was nearly always vegetable!!

We only stayed 7 nights and in that time there were 3 special dinner occasions - one was a Majorcan food evening (but the full dinner buffet was available if you just wanted to choose from normal stuff) with local specialities, one was a fruit spectacular, where a vast table of beatifully displayed and carved fruits was set up (really mouthwatering seeing the beautifully arved melons etc), and one evening a wonderful barbeque in the outdoor seating restaurant - not just sausages and burgers either, but a vast array of meats, breads, salads etc etc

Drinks were free from 11am until 11.30pm, although in practice if you wanted a soft drink at 1030 am it was no trouble. Ice creams were free to all, not just children - this included cornettos 9ask at the outside bar), soft ice cream cornets (@ happy burger by the kids pool), and ice bream wafer sandwiches. During the day the drinks were sensibly in small cups, (don't want broken glass by the poolside) in the evening drinks were in larger glasses with free waiter service.

Evening entertainment was in a big indoor room, and the entertainment was excellent - a kids disco which they loved, then bingo (in 3 languages so took an age!), then a show of some sort. Every other night it was a visiting professional act - these were superb shows, and on the other nights the resident entertainment team did the entertainment - a bit more hit and miss, but worth attending nevertheless. Only downside of the indoor entertainment room was lots of pillars, so you did need to arrive early to get a table with an unobstructed view.

The entertainment team (5 of them) were fantastic, and did stuff all day long. Games for the adults, like archery and shuffleboard, and stuff for the kids too including once a week a professional visiting parrot show!!

Virtually everything all week was free - whether it was a mid morning burger from the poolside kiosk, to the activities, only thing you had to pay for that I saw was bingo and if kids wanted to paint T-shirts (small charge).

Entertainment team were brill, kids got certificates if they won something, and if by the end of the week they hadn't, then have a quiet word and the team will make up a certificate anyway, for 'participation and being our best friend'. Our son is still chuffed with his certificate weeks later.

The pools are vast, no shortage of loungers, and there's a fantastic kids splash pool area, with a chicken slide and cow slide (you have to see it to understand, but the kids love it!)

The hotel is right on the beach, although you are quite a way from the port - a simple bus ride is needed to get there, however apart from gift shops and some boats to look at, there isn't much special to go there for really. No need to leave the hotel really.

We did do an all-day daytrip to see the Dolphins at Marineland, which is about an hour and a half coach ride away. We booked through the hotel as the trip Thomson did was only a half-day, and it was well worth the full day. Brilliant dolphin shows!

If you are going out for the day, ask at reception by 7pm the night before for (free!) packed lunches. These can be collected at breakfast from the restaurant on the morning (ie from 730am) - the boxes are vast and contain tons of stuff - way too much really, but we kept loads of it and it duid us for our journey home too on our departure day!

They also open the breakfast room every day from 4am-7am for a limited breakfast selection, so if you have an early departure you can still get something to eat before you go.

There is internet if you need it (1 euro for 15 mins) and there are 4 terminals

Rooms do have a few English TV channels - you need to retune your TV and then select DTV - then Sky sports1, and BBC1, and BBC news are yours! They also show all the big sport on a big screen in the evenings - just ask them to put it on if it isn't - we got them to put on Brighton v Palace (play off match) for us, and they did so no trouble - huge projector screen!!

Thanks in particular to Kirsty and Fabian from the animations team, real stars, and the lovely old man who mans the door in the restaurant every mealtime. Gave my son a lollipop everytime my son remembered to say thank you after mealtimes!

Room Tip: Some rooms are quite a walk from the lifts, but to be honest these are the best, because if you are...

Despite a long journey to La Condesa ( over an hour as we got dropped off last) and cloudy cold weather for the first three days of our hols, it was a wonderful holiday. I loved the hotel, the white sandy beach, being right by the sea, the food and the staff. I didn't want to return home and would go again with my 4 yr old daughter and mother (who's late 70 's). The hotel is clean and modern and all the staff were lovely and so sweet with children. My daughter made friends with the waiters and cleaners and bar staff. Especially Said who she loved, Gustavo on the door of the restaurant too. I loved Michel's aerobic classes - and I never do aerobics classes at home. My daughter loved getting ready for the children's disco and made loads of friends. I should have bought the CD! The children's team were really energetic and considerate.

The food was fantastic. I love fish and every day there was some fish to choose from. I loved the swordfish and tuna steaks. I don't eat meat so my one criticism would be that I found it hard to tell what I was choosing - a 'v' sign for non-meat dishes so I could choose food without finding bits of meat in various rice or salad dishes would be helpful. There was so much choice and the restaurant does brilliantly to cater for so many guests. If anyone found the food boring then perhaps they need to broaden the range of foods they eat. I think I could have chosen a different type of meal each night for a month. The cocktails were fun and it was nice to have non-alcoholic cocktails for children too.

If there was more storage space in the rooms then the size of them wouldn't have mattered. No draw space or functional cabinets. The wardrobe was a good size so more hangers would be helpful. The sink looked beautiful being glass but was so impractical - especially for my little girl who wasn't able to clean her teeth properly as the shelf of the sink got in the way and was larger than the actual bowl. Perhaps a children's toilet/basin in the foyer would be family friendly too.

These are small points however. Overall, lovely. Location, friendliness and easy-going staff meant I wish we'd booked for longer than a week. I didn't want to leave. I hope to return. It's made me like All-inclusives!!
