Stayed here for 3ngts last week, lovely modern hotel, spotless, good service an entertainment, my advice would be ask for sea view room, only down side is sun beds abit crowded together, other than that perfect !!!!
- Free Wifi
Go there if your idea how to spent the holiday is lot of people cramped at one another round the pool and if you are lover of poor standard but loud team entertainment every evening... There is nothing to do round the hotel , it is long distance to go anywhere and the last bus goes at 10 p.m.
The hotel itself is needed of updating but it is clean, the food is very good and the hard working staff are very friendly . The best point is the clean and warm sea but the beach is not for hotel guests only so also overcrowded and overcharged with the view to beds quality . All together we expected more and our stay was a disappointment.
Just returned from a 10 day holiday, with my wife and daughter, aged 9.
We have visited Majorca for the last two years, previously staying at the Holiday Village Viva, C'an Picafort and last year at the Alcudia Pins, so we were able to make some comparisons.
Firstly, the transfer time is only about one hour and our booking in at the Hotel was speedy (even greeted us with a glass of champagne).
The location is excellent, the Hotel is situated on the beach. The sea is beautiful, warm, with no sudden dips or currents. You can walk out a few hundred metres and the sea level is still only at knee level.
We stayed on an All Inclusive basis and would say that the food was as expected - lots of variety and good quality. You could help yourselves in the main restaurant to beer, wine and soft drinks.
There is also a smaller restaurant by the pool, which we used at Lunchtime and a "Happy Burger" which served daytime snacks (burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, chips etc).
There is a Bar by the main pool, which served drinks throughout the day.
They have four pools - the main one which is split into two sections (depth ranges from 1.10 - 2.00 metres).
Then they have two pools for the children; one is like a splash pool for younger children, consisting of small slides in the shape of a squirrel, toucan's and a cow. Great fun for the smaller kids and older ones! Then they have the Chicken slide pool, which has three water slides - this is really great fun for children and adults!
So far so good .....
First slightly annoying problem was that the sunbeds around the children's pool were poor quality, many of them broken. However, the sunbeds around the main pool were in perfect condition.
Accomodation: Rooms are fairly small (as seems to be the case in these types of Hotels), but this was expected. The main problem was the lack of storage and in the Bathroom, a lack of shelving or a cabinet, which meant all the toiletries had to be stored on the floor.
For us, the one thing that let this Hotel down, was the poor entertainment, not helped by the poor quality sound system installed.
From 8-9 pm they have a children's hour, which we thought was designed mainly for our German friends - no traditional "English" dances, which was unusual.
The reason for this is probably because virtually all the entertainment team were European.
From 9-9.30 pm there is a lull, where they sell the Bingo tickets.
They play one Full House of Bingo (prize money ranged from 175-210 euro's -so well worth winning). You have to concentrate though, as they call each number in five different languages.
From 10 pm they have their main entertainment.
The in house entertainers put on some shows, but all they did was dance and MIME to shows like Smokey Joes, Chicago, Cabaret etc.
When they brought in entertainers from outside, this was better.
The Kenyan Boys were good (acrobatic gymnasts), a girl singing a Whitney Houston tribute was absolutely diabolical, plus they had a Take That tribute group, which was not bad, but again spoiled by the terrible sound system.
There is a small play area by the stage and most of the children played there (can't blame them).
It's the type of Hotel where you can relax or get involved with daily sports such as Volleyball, Archery etc).
You will certainly have a good time at this Hotel, but try not to get too carried away by all the previous excellent reviews.
Although we had an enjoyable holiday, I would say, we probably would look elsewhere next year.
Returned from this hotel on 9th Aug 2012 after been there for 14nights. In our party was myself my husband our two boys aged 7 and 10 and my parents early 70's. For me when booking a holiday I like to know negatives first so.......
Rooms....... well used and small, this was only a problem when the 3 of us tried to get dressed for the (average) evening entertainment. The beds were not good so if you have back problems either take plenty painkillers or don't book! The cleanliness of the rooms were very average to poor ! The Safe was 42Euros and you get 6 Euros back . For the ladies, take a hairdryer or get your partner to blow on your hair it will dry quicker than the hotel dryer. To use a mirror while drying your hair, it will have to be plugged into the bathroom socket!
The Pool area...... nightmare to get beds, loads of them but if you are late, after 7.30 you end up in the middle of a row with no brolly and feeling like a sardine with no where to move to. The large pool has a slope to walk down unfortunately 30% of people fell down it, it becomes extremely slippy as the day goes on so please be careful. There is a bridge over one of the splash pools and the stairs leading to and from this bridge are also slippy one girl fell and broke her arm while we were there, not nice!! Very lenient (life guard & some parents) around the pool, with kids pushing each other in and running around, they seemed oblivious to the dangers! The new chicken slides are real fun for the kids and adults, when used appropriately definately not for airbeds and it gets a bit daft when the entertainers get on and play games with the kids. They hold races and this entails sliding down the slides getting out and running back to the top, encouraging the kids to run over the slippy tiles around the pool area! Me my husband and both boys got ear infections, so it must be the pool water. Although the floors of the pools got swept every morning but the walls of the pools were not touched and are very grubby. It costs 100 Euros to see the hotel doc. We have gold insurance but still had to pay this upfront, obviously the excess, check this with the travel agents! So take plenty calpol and ibruprofen for the kids.
The beach.... great for you beach lovers, down a few steps from hotel and on the beach the beds there can be booked for 4days at a time, so you will be very lucky to get beds immediately infront of hotel but it can be done. The sea is shallow for a long way out and the sand is very ripley and be quite painful underfoot. My son got stung twice off a jelly fish so be prepared for them?
Food...... very good food and a hugh variety and always available but remember its AI so its not the best cuts of meat ! Drinks always available fizzy wine is the strongest it will help you sleep in those beds ha. Ice creams, ice lollies, choco lollies and cornettos included in AI.
Entertainment.... there was horse riding, archery, shooting, water polo, zumba. we never took part in any of these but people seem to enjoy them especially the germans as they took over everything! The night time was mini disco at 6 till7 then bingo about 9 till 10ish then the show. People got the drinks and put them on the best tables then went for tea not good but hey if you cant beat them join them!!
shops... It is just a minute or two out of the hotel to the shops, in these shops you also see what the markets in Alcudia sell and the prices are roughly the same give or take a euro or 2. The lucky lucky men want to barter so have a good idea how much you want to spend on items before you start to barter because some lucky lucky men are quite intimidating.
Saying all that, we had a great holiday and made the most of what we had. I would not go back to this hotel unless more improvements were made but they are trying to suit everyone which must be very difficult.I am pleased we went. My boys loved it there and did not want to come home x
Just returned from a fabulous week long holiday at this hotel. Always nervous of all inclusive stays based on a previous bad experience, but our stay here was just great. We were a group of 6 - 3 adults and 3 teenagers and all of us were impressed by standards at this hotel. Rooms were clean - maid service every day - air conditioned, quiet and comfortable.
Service was excellent - when I stupidly lost my safe key, the situation was dealt with promptly and courteously. When our beach towels were mysteriously found soaking wet on our return to our sunbeds, the hotel laundered them for us at no cost to ourselves and even sent a chilled bottle of cava and gift fruit basket with a lovely message, apologising for the inconvenience.
Bar staff and waiters were all very friendly and we felt we were very well looked after throughout the whole stay. I must make a special mention of the entertainment team who worked tirelessly to ensure that guests had plenty to keep them entertained. Loved the 'Take That' night and enjoyed the Zumba sessions in the sea each day. Thank you especially to Marius who kept us smiling throughout with his lively humour.
We ate at the a la carte restaurant twice during our stay but most of our mealtimes were spent in the larger buffet restaurant where there was a massive selection of food - enough choice to keep everyone in our group happy.
We didn't see much of Alcudia itself because we didn't feel the need to venture out. Having the lovely beach literally on our doorstep was a massive bonus! The sea really is as beautiful here as it looks in the holiday brochures.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to return myself one day.
We went at the beginning of June with our daughter and 2 grandsons. The Hotel was very good and the variety of food was excellent.
We spent most of our time on the beach which was perfect for young children - gently shelving and not too deep.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening entertainment was good and the entertainment staff were brilliant!
Only a couple of 'bad' points - 4.50 euros a day to hire beds on the beach (we bought blow up ones from the shop - much cheaper) and no drawer space in the rooms.
We would most certainly go again.
