We stayed for 8 nights at the end of July/beginning of August and had a really nice break here. Staff on reception very polite and helpful, check in was quick. We were allocated a one bedroom apartment in the 3rd floor at the front of the hotel, rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious with large balconies, the air con was a god send considering the heat wave being experienced during our holiday and beds were comfortable.

The bar area inside and out was very good, clean and reasonably priced, although as we were self catering we didn't stay in at night for the entertainment and preferred to venture out into the resort and different bars. The only thing i'd suggest for improvement in the bar is the daytime snack menu could do with a bit of 'livening' up to give more choice when self catering guests are looking for some lunch.

Swimming pools were really good, daytime entertainment around the pools very good, although one thing that has been mentioned by other reviews is the reserving of sunbeds problem, there aren't enough to serve the amount of guests and some had towels just laid on them all day without being used, unfortunately as we have young children who need full supervision around the pool we also had to join this race in order for our kids to be able to play during the day safely within our sights.

But please don't let the sunbed issue put you off coming here, it's a very good hotel in a perfect location central to everything with its own supermarket also. It's our 2nd visit here, the first being 6 years ago and wouldn't hesitate coming here again

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel have beautiful views of the resort with the hills at the very back...

Dear Garry B,
How are you? Thank you, thank you, and thank you! What a wonderful review. We are all just glad that you had a great experience and fond memories of your second vacation at Sol Alcudia Center. Regarding the Snacks at the bar l have forwarded your comments to my colleagues at the bar. Nevertheless let me please mention for all who do not know tour hotel yet, that we have chips, peanuts... eight different types of sandwiches and baguettes...My favourite one is Croque-monsieur sandwich with ham, cheese and bechamel!!
Thank you once again for the wonderful review and we will be on the look-out for your return trip. 3rd one!!!
Sincerely yours,

I have just returned from a wonderful holiday here, I travelled with my 2 kids 18 & 13, my friend with her kids, 16, 14 & 1 and the apartments were a good size for us all, we were all inclusive and the food was great, even with fussy kids no one went hungry, lots of variety and fresh. They have sorted out the problem with the sunbeds as you cannot reserve them before 8am now. The apartments are right in Alcudia and are near the beach, My only moan was that as we arrived at 11.30pm due to our flight being delayed we could not get anything to eat on arrival and had to go out and buy pizzas, but apart from that perfect holiday, not sure about the entertainment as we were sitting outside in the evening and entertainment was inside. Will def book and go back here again.

Room Tip: If you can get a pool facing room you will appreciate coming up to a cool balcony later in the day a...

This was mine and my girlfriends first holiday together and this hotel really helped us enjoy it.
On arrival, we were greeted by a clean lobby and smily friendly staff. A speedy check in, to a lovely clean second floor air conditioned room with a fair sized bedroom with 2 single beds & dressing table, a good sized living room with 2 sofa-beds; a tv & table, a comfortable sized bathroom and a small but well equipped kitchen. (although we were all inclusive so didn't use it other than the fridge for drinks)

The hotel is located right in the middle of a large number of shops & restaurants and just 2 minutes from the beach, although we stayed around the pool most days.

As pleasant as the pool area was, it was a near impossibility to get a sun lounger unless you were up at the crack of dawn with your towel. The hotel did have a 'no sun lounger reservation' policy but sadly did not enforce it and several times we saw towels laid for up to 4 hours with no sign of their owners.

We were very happy with the drinks available at the bar with plenty of choice. unfortunately the same can not be said for the food. the choice was rather basic and often tasteless and over cooked, also the food labelling was more or less nonexistent, as such we ate out four of the seven nights. (and if you like your ketchup, pop into the mini supermarket inside the hotel and get some proper heniz for €2) That being said, the restaurant area was very clean and tidy & the staff were very pleasant.

We didn't stay in the hotel on the evening so we cannot comment on the entertainment but for what was advertised, there was always something on and plenty to keep the kids entertained.

All in all, we loved our holiday and the hotel. We would both recommend it to friends and definitely friends with children. 4 out of 5 from us.

Dear tubbsoffun,
Thank your for posting your comments on Trip Advisor!!
Let me please use this opportunity to write about our buffet:
At Sol Aclcudia Center we offer 2 prepared salads every service. 2 different types of meat (one grilled and one with sauce) 2 different types of fish (one grilled and one withsauce.) 2 pastas with 3 sauces to combine with by each guest. 2 cut fruits (of a choice of orange, melon, water melon, pineapple and kiwi) and 6 or 7 fruits. Also 3 cheese and “quince meat” every service. Of course Ice creams.
On Friday we have “Spanish dinner” where we offer a variety of Spanish dishes. With a Serrano ham that the Chef cuts in front of our guests.
Also on Tuesdays normally we have a Roasted pork leg that also our Chef cuts in front of our guests and serves personally.
Last Saturday we also made a “special fruits buffet” with much more variety as usual. This was also cut fruits and we included mango, lychees, pomelo, etc...
Sorry about the food labelling. We have all the banners ready and we will double check that they are used.
Will you come back next year? You will enjoy our new swimming pool area.
Once again thank you for your comments and your help.

We stayed here for a week in September 2012. It was a last minute change as we were due to go to lanzarote but the hotel pool was out of order. My partner is in paraplegic so finding a hotel which is accessible is sometimes a difficulty. At the time we couldn't book an accessible room but we were allocated one on arrival. My partner asked for some more pillows and they were in our room almost before we returned upstairs. We stayed all inclusive which I would highly recommend. The bar staff were fantastic so too were the reception staff, maids and handymen. My praise must also go to the restaurant team. We liked to eat outside at night and bought a candle for our table. After the first night it was taken off me and every night when we came in "our" table was set with the candle lit on arrival. It was lovely to see the staff using the hotel restaurant to eat. It showed the food was good. We even had lobster one day

We enjoyed this holiday so much down to the excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble. We are returning this September ......it will be like going home

Thankyou and see you soon

Room Tip: Excellent for those in wheelchairs. Central to alluding and accessible rooms

We stayed in the Sol Alcudia Center the last fortnight in July 2013. We are a family of five, kids are age 9, 7 & 5 and were on a self catering basis.
We checked in at about 1.30am - Paolo was expecting us and greeted us by name which was a really nice touch. Check-in was quick, easy & friendly. Our apt was on 5th floor, near the lifts which at first I thought wasn't good as it would be noisy. However the apts are surprisingly soundproofed therefore sleeping was not an issue. Alcudia is not a crazy resort anyway and quietens down at about 11.30/midnight. Our one bedroomed apt was just about ok for the five of us. Our two boys slept in the main living room on the settees and our little girl was sleeping in a camp bed in our bedroom. Whilst the kids are small this arrangement was fine however I wouldn't fancy this with older children. There was also not very much storage for all of our stuff. The pool area was really nice however as per other reviews there are just not enough sun loungers for the amount of apts. This obviously led to the 'reserving of sun loungers at ungodly hours' routine !! My husband and I decided not to get involved with this and so just purchased lilos to lie on at the poolside - much more comfy actually! Manuel the lifeguard is superb. He really interacts with the kids and the families and on most days managed to find sunloungers for us when other people had left the pool. He really is a nice guy. The entertainment team are also to be commended. They worked really hard to put on various activities for kids and adults and what I really liked is that none of this was too invasive. The team weren't pushy to make you join in and the games weren't too loud that they interfered with those people who just wanted to relax. My kids enjoyed Mini Olympics, water polo, the water carpet, and t-shirt making. As we were self catering I can't comment about the food at the complex. One thing that was missing was a decent snack bar. There was a small selection of snacks on the bar menu but we didn't avail of these. There are so many decent restaurants right on the doorstep this didn't cause a problem. for evening meals, as I said, so many restaurants in the immediate area. I will give an account of some of them. Luna's Grill - up the strip near Bellevue complex. Very Busy restaurant with entertainment. Quite expensive, food not great and service awful. Cheers Bar - just across road from Sol Alcudia Center. Average menu, average prices, entertainment for kids with characters like Dora the Explorer, Spongebob etc. not a bad night out. Portofino - on the main strip. Nice food, decent prices and nice service. Ola's Grill - also on the main strip near apts. a bit more expensive, nice food. Lastly, S'amfora. This is the best restaurant we ate in, only discovered it on our last night more's the pity. Food gorgeous and authentic, very good value for the quality of the food. on the main road near KFC just a few mins from apts. Sol Aludia Center is also just a few minutes walk from the gorgeous beach and the bus stop is just round the corner so location is really really good. All in all we had a fab holiday and would totally recommend these apts for your holiday to Alcudia.

Stayed at this hotel from 28/07/2013 - 04/08/2013 with my family. Hotel is very central, a short walk to the beach. Pubs, bars, restaurants & shops are all around. Very lively area which was great for us as we have 2 teenage sons & an 11 year old son so there was always plenty for them to do.
The hotel staff were very friendly & were always prepared to help in anyway they could.
We were on bed & breakfast basis which we found a bit early 8am -10 am. The food was pretty basic & the same every day but was a choice of cooked breakfast, fruit, cereal, breads & pastries.
The pool area was always very busy & you needed to be up very early with your towel if you wanted a bed & there was no where near enough beds to accommodate all the guests at the hotel. There was entertainment at the pool for children of all ages which was great for the teenagers. But found the large pool very deep & our 11 year old struggled to reach the bottom of the pool so found ourselves going to the beach more often.
We didn't stay in the hotel in the evening as we found the entertainment more for the younger age but there were plenty of other places to visit nearby.
We stayed in room 208 which overlooked the hotel Waikiki. The Cheers bar to the left was very noisy at night but didn't bother us too much. The room was basic but clean. The beds were very hard. would have preferred a room overlooking the pool so try to request this when booking.

Room Tip: Request a pool view if you prefer.
