We travelled as 5 adults and 5 children (all children less than 6 years old). The size of the property was excellent for all of us to be comfortable.
Great size property
Great size outdoor space
Pool Area was enjoyed by our children
Quite close to Port / Bars (see below however with access to it)
Outdoor Fridge on Terrace
I would estimate the pictures on here and advertising the villa on rental sites are at the very least 10 years + old. (This will give you some appreciation for the ware and tare on the property, as it is let). Majority of the furniture, apart from the sofa in the lounge are still the originals...!
The property needed to be cleaned again when we arrived
There is not adequate seating for the number of people the villa sleeps in the main lounge area
WIFI - This did not work and is a Vodafone Dongle, which I can only assume the previous occupants must have used all of the data, as we could connect to it, but not the internet. Thankfully we were able to tether our phones to the Amazon Firestick for the children etc and the mobile signal at the property is excellent.
Majority of the furniture is old, worn and tired (nothing like the pictures i hastened to add).
We had no hot water at the property for two days
We had no running water due to a pump issue (caused the same issue with the hot water) and the pump had to be reset several times to have running water again, before the property agents had a call to confirm it wasnt acceptable and changed the pump, a few days before our departure, we didnt have any further issues from this point on.
The air conditioning is only in 1 bedroom, hallway and lounge area, so some rooms were extremely hot, as some windows were missing the shutters to block out the sun.
There were basic items missing from the kitchen, namely scissors...!
The location is and ISNT ideal. There is a short walk to the port, if you are lucky enough to get through the delivery gate at the rear of a nice 5* hotel its a short, safe walk. However if you are not lucky enough to go through this gate (Deliveries are every morning and the gate is usually open between 9:30am and 12:00pm...!) You have to walk down the cycle path of an extremely busy main road, which takes considerably longer.
The slabs around the pool need to be extended, as with the amount of sunbeds there is little to no space to really walk around them, and with a make-shift canopy (not shown in the photos on here) at least 3 of the beds are in the shade for majority of the afternoon. There is a large grassed area around the pool you can move a sunbed to, as long as you like to lye down on a 30 degree angle, as it is not level.
Overall we were happy with the space and how quiet the location was, as this was ideal, BUT the property is in great need of having some TLC and a little bit of money spent on it to realise its full potential and make the stay for future guests much more comfortable.
The basics were missed (light bulbs not working, unclean utensils, old shower fittings, broken toilet seats, stained toilets, air conditioning leaking on the floor, causing slip hazards, open electrical sockets showing bare wires, missing glass in doors to living room - apparently broken by previous tenants, doors do not lock properly - with the remote location this wasn't a big issue, but if you like to know the doors are locked when your in bed this isn't for you). I believe with a little money, some effort and a few new pieces of furniture this property could be one you would gladly go back to each year with family and friends, but in its current state i was happy to be coming home.
I believe the property agents / owners need to:
1) Check the basics on change over day to ensure everything is working and clean.
2) Supply more towels for all occupants
3) Provide a pool cleaning service (at least once per week)
4) Offer / Provide a cleaner to go through the property once per week
5) Supply some of the basics on arrival (arrival basket water etc) this i think would be a great little touch
6) A basic booklet with property details and information, local amenities, taxi numbers etc to help new occupants make the most from their holiday (this would literally take an hour, or two, but would be invaluable with the location of the villa for occupants without a car, as we were.
7) Spend some money on some basic improvements, renovations and some new furniture, as the lounge could only seat 4 people comfortably,
If the above was taken into consideration i would gladly go back to this property.
Had an enjoyable time with my family of 6 people in July. Very clean and facilities good. Comfortable rooms and big enough for the 6 people in our party. It's in a very quiet peaceful spot. The pool was really lovely, with a pleasant temperature and just the right size
The WI FI worked very well. The outdoor fridge was very handy indeed, as it allowed big containers of water to be kept nice and cool.
The only downside, is the walk to the town. It's not far, but must be made via a busy main road, and not ideal if you have elderly or young guests in the party. A car is essential as local taxis don't seem able to find the address for whatever reason, and one taxi driver, actually stopped and turned out my wife and children because he couldn't find the Villa, and they had to walk the remainder of the journey.
The air con is not efficient enough to cool the Villa on a hot day, and is either undersized or needs topping up with refrigerant
This is a comfortable villa, well equipped, but it's not plush in any way. It was nice, but certainly not worth the money we paid. I would recommend staying here, but I'm sure you can get better value for money at an alternative villa
