a lot of money to see a hole in the ground, and extra for a short boat trip in the caves. I was unimpressed

Thank you very much for your opinion, and we apologize for not being able to fulfill what you did expect about the visit. The visit lasts about one hour, and takes the visitors about 1 kilometre underground, where it is performed a classical music concert and it is possible to cross the lake by boat. Of course it takes some time to get all visitors seated before the concert starts, and it takes some time to take the boat to cross the lake, if somebody are short of time they can cross the lake by the footbridge. To take the boat it is not necessary to pay an extra, it is included with the entry fee, you only have to choose the way you like to cross the lake.
Best regards

Once upon a time you paid your meny and went around of your own accord. Now you have a specific tour tie, which means there are hundreds crammed in for the first 5 minutes until everyone disperses. Thre is a "concert" which you have to sit through.. it seems whether you want to or not! It was quite charming, but I think we sat waiting for everyone else to sit down for longer than the actual tour took us! Also, the boat ride at the end..... is about 50 meters long. Not worth the half hour wait!

Loved the caves, not sure about the "concert" - totally unecessary! The caves are enough by themselves.

positive :
beautiful caves
it isn't cold at the caves, so you don't need warm clothing
though there were many visitors, you could still see everything at your ease

negative :
waiters at the cafe outside are rude and don't change your money correctly ! Count your pennies !
the so called concert by a professional quartet in the cave is a good idea, but the violin player was far from professional. Or he has to buy a new violin . . .

To think how long it has taken to create this wonder.very professional tour that takes around an hour with a nice stop to listen to some classical music. Just be aware that there are around 200 steps altogether but it's taken very easy.
Very easy to get there by local bus from the east coast as the local bus stops at the caves and you are also a short walk from the centre of Porto Cristo that should not be missed if your in the area.
