Owner description: World famous, are visited since 1898; inside is lake Martel, considered one of the largest underground lakes in the world, where live classical music concerts are performed every day. You can cross the lake on a boat at the end of the concert. BEWARE, there are two caves to visit in Porto Cristo, the largest and more frequently visited are the Caves of Drach. We advise to get tickets online from our web page, the same price than at the ticket office and you don´t need to print it.

“very beautiful caves to visit”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

positive :
beautiful caves
it isn't cold at the caves, so you don't need warm clothing
though there were many visitors, you could still see everything at your ease

negative :
waiters at the cafe outside are rude and don't change your money correctly ! Count your pennies !
the so called concert by a professional quartet in the cave is a good idea, but the violin player was far from professional. Or he has to buy a new violin . . .

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

To think how long it has taken to create this wonder.very professional tour that takes around an hour with a nice stop to listen to some classical music. Just be aware that there are around 200 steps altogether but it's taken very easy.
Very easy to get there by local bus from the east coast as the local bus stops at the caves and you are also a short walk from the centre of Porto Cristo that should not be missed if your in the area.

“Cuevas del Drach - No Frills Travel”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

My party of 8 bought this trip via the hotel. The guide and driver, Juan and Christo, were great. Juan the guide couldn't have been more helpful, clear, and humerous. He made sure that each individual party had photos of the whole group by using their own camera. The caves were the most amazing I've ever seen; even the 6 year old grandsons were entranced. The only downside is that the rules on taking photos inside the caves, need to be enforced: ie: no flash, plus no photos at all during the fantastic musical performance.

“Interesting but poor value family attraction”
Reviewed June 6, 2014 via mobile

The caves are spectacular, but not really great value as a family outing. We paid 44 euros for us and our 3 and 5 year olds, but they were fairly bemused by the trip.
There is a lot of walking - down to the main cave and up again - then you wait 15mins whilst everyone sits down.
The show consists of 3 illuminated boats rowing up and down to classical music - which was enchanting but low maintenance.
You then got to sit in a rowing boat and travel 100yds before walking back to the surface.
For 20 euros more the children could have had a full day at Marineland or similar.
Nice, but not a great trip for young children.

“Brilliant attraction,shame about the TAT.”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

Booked with No Frills excursions. after what appeared to be ages eventually picked up all customers from surrounding area. Was looking forward to caves but were put through torture of visiting pearl and olive wood factory and shops, most items tourist rubbish. then endured a stop at a beach for another wasted 10 mins. eventually arrived three hours after boarding at caves. These are not to be missed excellent attraction. The classical music in the lake superb but spoilt but peole using cameras even though told not to loads of times. Lunch at Porto Christo was great lovely spot and great beach. Then another visit to a liquor tasting shop ok if you drink but really waste of time with a shop full of tacky items. overall caves were great but would rather have not stopped at all the tacky shops.
