Owner description: World famous, are visited since 1898; inside is lake Martel, considered one of the largest underground lakes in the world, where live classical music concerts are performed every day. You can cross the lake on a boat at the end of the concert. BEWARE, there are two caves to visit in Porto Cristo, the largest and more frequently visited are the Caves of Drach. We advise to get tickets online from our web page, the same price than at the ticket office and you don´t need to print it.

The caves are spectacular, but not really great value as a family outing. We paid 44 euros for us and our 3 and 5 year olds, but they were fairly bemused by the trip.
There is a lot of walking - down to the main cave and up again - then you wait 15mins whilst everyone sits down.
The show consists of 3 illuminated boats rowing up and down to classical music - which was enchanting but low maintenance.
You then got to sit in a rowing boat and travel 100yds before walking back to the surface.
For 20 euros more the children could have had a full day at Marineland or similar.
Nice, but not a great trip for young children.

Booked with No Frills excursions. after what appeared to be ages eventually picked up all customers from surrounding area. Was looking forward to caves but were put through torture of visiting pearl and olive wood factory and shops, most items tourist rubbish. then endured a stop at a beach for another wasted 10 mins. eventually arrived three hours after boarding at caves. These are not to be missed excellent attraction. The classical music in the lake superb but spoilt but peole using cameras even though told not to loads of times. Lunch at Porto Christo was great lovely spot and great beach. Then another visit to a liquor tasting shop ok if you drink but really waste of time with a shop full of tacky items. overall caves were great but would rather have not stopped at all the tacky shops.

The caves are amazing to see! There is quite a steep walk down into the caves but it's worth the walk to see the strange rock formations. Once in the heart of the caves you are seated and then what little light there was is turned off. 3 small boats then appear, simply lit up, they drift towards you on the lake as music plays! A truly eerie experience! You are then escorted back either by boat or you can choose to walk. The boats feel quite rickety but it's worth it for the experience! Wouldn't bother with a camera, they don't allow you to take pictures in the cave and have people placed throughout to shout at snap happy visitors! Which is a shame really!

Thank you very much for your opinion, it helps us to improve our customers satisfaction. About taking pictures into the caves, it is allowed without flash during the visit, and it is not allowed during the concert, always to avoid the other visitors being annoyed by flashes or by peole standing up during the concert to get a better picture. If you have any complaint about a member of our staff, please, contact us to explain it, and we will do our best to sort out the problem.
Best regards

Visited this location by catching a bus in Cala dor, the journey took about an hour with lots to see on the way. It was 24 euros to enter the cauves which is huge. The stalagnites are amazing to see, discovered in the 800's it is dark with little lamps scattered about. There is also 3 boats that come from nowhere, in the dark and music is played by an orchestra on one of the boats, its unreal. There are many steps to climb on the way out and many pensioners were finding this difficult to climb. This is an experience you must tick off your bucket list. Worth a visit.

A fabulous trip seeing some spectacular sights. The caves are magnificent. The music was very emotive and truly beautiful. I would echo a previous reviewer in that we were lucky as we were at the front and could hear the explanations of the different areas and information which we found fascinating, however if you were at the back you wouldn't hear a thing.

We were surprised at how many people were in our group as we were at the front. When we sat down for the concert, people just kept on coming.....in their hundreds! Which left us waiting for ages and ages. Still, very much worth it!
