Globales Santa Lucia
Ranked #18 of 38 Hotels in Palmanova
Reviewed April 14, 2013

I have just returned from a week-long stay at the Santa Lucia, Palma as part of a group of six. Our overall experience was lovely - very sad to leave a great hotel however there are some areas which, with improvement, could make this hotel even better.

Positives: perfect location on the beach; reasonably priced for the Easter holidays; great food - so much choice - all freshly prepared and delicious; spotlessly clean with rooms of ample size and amenity; gorgeous views, nice pool and sunbeds, helpful, pleasant and hard-working staff.

The main lacking factor of the Santa Lucia is the entertainment; we apreciate that many of the guests are of a certain age, however guests also compiled of young couples and children. The entertainment on offer is not good at all; a complete lack of variety of activities during the day - very outdated 'games' and no real activity at all - what we did witness was hook a duck, darts and skittles - compared to other hotels we have stayed at, this hotel, in terms of its entertainment is compeltely behind the times. The hotel is an excellent basis on whichto provide some quality and exciting entertaiment - it just didn't happen - we were often left looking at each other during some 10pm evening 'shows' wondering what exactly was going on - the 'Abba Tribute' wasn't great and other features were simply awful. There is a game of bingo however not until 9pm with little much happeneing before the 'big' entertainment at 10. Can't fault the enthusiasm of the two entertainment staff however they did seem slightly cluesless - not sure where the blame lies here?

Many other guest we spoke to echoes our feelings -it is a real shame as this is a great hotel to which we would return however only if the entertainment is reported to have improved.

There is a great cafe bar called Son Matias Mar 100 yards from the hitel on the beach front - highly recommend for an afternoon drink in the sun!

having arrived here from a 7 day cruise ,what a welcome, the staff were so welcoming on reception ,we had a 2nd floor room with seaview,it was spacious and clean with tv in the room with limited british channels, the bathroom was of good size but only had a shower and no bath, the dining room was a very good size serving a excellent variety of hot and cold dishes, the entertainmenents room was of excellent size with some poor entertainment except george the american singer/comedian (i never thought americans had british humour) he was brilliant, the A/I drinks package is well worth purchasing only thing is you have to go to a separate part of the bar to be served, the pool area is nice overlooking the beach all in all i would fully reccommend this hotel .

Room Tip: all rooms have a sea view

We stayed at this hotel from 2nd to 9th April 2013 as part of a cruise and stay holiday. The previous week we sailed on the "Sprit of the Med" itinerary of the Island Escape, the cruise was all inclusive.
The Entertainment on the Cruise was fabulous and we expected better enertainment at the hotel.
The childrens entertainment team was good and worked hard. The evening entertainment for adults was however not so good and evening shows were not till 10 pm after almost hour was wasted on a single game of bingo!
Our agent only offered us Half Board at the hotel but many of the other travellers from the cruise had all inclusive at the hotel too!
The food was a tale of two halves all with buffet service. The breakfast food offered very fatty Spanish streaky bacon and raw black pudding' although the continental alternatives were OK.
The evening food offered a good choice which was mainly well cooked and there was an option to have both fresh pasta, meat and fish at an efficiently run hotplate run by a really friendly member of staff. The Salad choice was excellent and offered cold meats and sardines etc in addition to the veg and meditteranean pickles.
The staff were very efficient and friendly. Free Wifi is offered in reception but is fairly slow and does not allow downloading of larger files. Premium Wifi is available for 20 Euro a week but a few guests had connection problems.

Room Tip: The hotel chain is gradually upgrading this hotel. Top two floors have been renovated. We were on fl...

Just back from a very enjoyable 5 night stay at the Santa Lucia. The view from our bedroom window was fantastic (room 314), at many hotels you would have to pay a hefty supplement for a sea view but all rooms have one. We booked direct with the hotel and arranged our own flights and transfers and thought it was great value for money. We were a party of 3 generations, grandparents, daughter and grandchildren (10 and 9), we have been to many all inclusive hotels before but my daughter and grandchilderen hadn't and they loved it.
The rooms were ok, it was nice to have a few English speaking tv channels, including BBC1 and BBC2. We always found something we enjoyed at mealtimes and had no complaints about the food. We had told our grandchildren about the kids clubs at other all inclusive hotels we had been to with our other grandchildren but there was very little doing here, maybe it is too early in the season. There were two members of the animation team but not much to do. The children loved the indoor swimming pool and beach which is only steps away, so the lack of daytime activities didn't matter.
Palma Nova is a pleasant area and we would definitely go back to this hotel.

well what can i say we had a great week here the room was nice and big (with fitted carpet) which was strange but nice at the same time, cleaned every day fresh towels and sheets, every one that worked there was very helpful and friendly, the food was good plenty of choice, there is a little shop in the foyer she sells al sorts including water and newspapers that are the same price as the shops over the road , the only thing i could moan about is they tell you there is a fridge in the room but do not tell you that you pay extra locally, would book here again

Room Tip: ask for pool view very sunny rooms

My family and I had stayed at this Hotel many times over a ten year period and gradually noticed a decline in standards.
We are a family of five and as the children grew older we could not all squeeze on a table for four that the staff in the dining room kept trying to put us on ! I refused and after much muttering/ banging of tables, cutlery etc they would find us a table for five.
We decided the last time we went there to pay extra for all inclusive and found we were treated very much like second class citizens and as my wife pointed out the food choice for all inclusive was lower qaulity than paying half board etc. Even down to a cup of tea which was given to us with a tea bag in the cup - pathetic. Each day we seemed to find more things too generally make us all fed up, a classic was after four days one night I went to the bar with my daughter to order five drinks the young surly bar man new us by now but initailly advised max drinks we could have was four after arguing he relented a let us have five drinks, but why the arguement.
Another day we missed lunch and arrived at the hotel at 2.50 Pm toasted sandwiches are provided at 3.00 Pm I went and asked the staff at the pool bar if they could them now as by the time we got them it would be about three to be told curtly no ! we will not start cooking unitl three even though they were just standing there talking !
I spoke to the female manager about the numerous issues primarily with customer service at this Hotel and she basically laughed, argued briefly and walked away, may be that explains a lot about what is wrong with this Hotel !
The list is endless and I said to my wife we will never come back to this hotel again, which we thankfully have not . What a great shame the Maids are brilliant as is the old chap who works behind the bar and actually smiles, the rest forget it !

Just home yesterday from a lovely week away in Palma Nova. There were positive and negative things on this holiday but overall we would return as we ( myself my partner our daughter and brother and sister in law and there one year old baby) had a real relaxing time. Ok Positives first.....

The hotel was nice and clean and the maids were great our rooms always done and when my daughter hurt and fell the chambermaid manager lady was so lovely and looked after her.

The staff were all really good they always seemed to be on the go and working very hard to please guests.

The rooms were what we expected and a fair standard our balcony was a bit small but enough for us three and the view we had was stunning all views were. A fab location with nice shops on the doorstep and a 15 min walk to Magaluf, in fact we all enjoyed all the local walks. The hotel is right on the beach and the beach is spotless.

We were all inclusive and well we did think it could of been a lot better, food in the resturant was nice a bit repetative after five days (last two eves we ate out for a change) the sausages were yuk and sometimes the lunch looked a bit horrid as we knew it was leftovers from the night before. One day the cheese and ham was left sweating under the lights. Howevere the chips tasty and hot, the bacon very good and the salads and fruits were always fresh and delicious.
If you were all inclusive which we were dont get your hopes up, we thought great my daughter can go get a ice cream when she wants and that we could sunbathe and eat lunch well the food and drinks nice but a bit of a con you can only eat in the restraunt so when we had the munchies in the eve after drinking there was no burger and chips in the bar we did go to the resturant late one night it wasnt nice again leftover burgers with no bun? and what we thought were chicken nuggerts were left over veg in batter ergh! No ice creams either in bar only ice lollies that was a big disapointment.

The entertainment finally well that was dreadfull! the animation team just havent got a clue Matthew and Rebecca well I dont think they should be rehired they were nice friendly people bless them but just in the wrong job both shy and not very fun. They messed up nearly every night, asking guests how to do things all entertainment on far to late my one year old nephew loved the kids disco but it started around 9 and he was asleep by then most of the time he just couldnt make it till 9. When singers were on the microphone packed up, lights didnt work so a singer sang in the dark! Daytime was boring outside no music and a bit of line dancing where Matthew didnt no what he was doing and the odd game of bowling or darts that was it no aqua aerobics or anything like that. We were happy to just sunbathe and go for walks the best enetrtainment of the week was the mess up of bingo one night and watching a wreck unfold of the staff asking people for money back when they messed up a real disgrace! but best fun of the week we couldnt stop laughing at the total hash they made of it all!

This holiday would be amazing if the all inclusive was less limited and offered a bit more and if you had a great animation team that was full of life and had more ideas and it all started from about 7 instead of sitting in the bar till 9 with the music down low and nothing to watch! If these things were improved then its a perfect 10 but id say the hotel was a 7 out of 10 but we would go again as the good outweighed the bad and Palma is just fantatsic pure bliss.
