Just stayed 4 nights and the hotel and room were spotless, albeit the paint bubbling on the ceiling from what must have been a leak in the room above. Cleaning staff superb.
The food was edible and if you like meat or fish in bubbling sauces then you will be made. Not for vegetarians, not even a broccoli bake to be seen. Plenty of salad though.
Not enough staff in dinning room especially at breakfast where tables were not cleared and guests were doing it themselves to be able to find a table.
RIP OFF TIME Hire of safe in room for 1 week 27 Euro's + 10 Euro's Deposit or 7 Euro's per day
Hire of fridge 20 Euro's per week.
Hire of Kettle + tea/Coffee 16.75 Euro's per week
Have stayed in 2 star hotels where these items are free or just a minimum charge.
There are 3 lifts, with a maximum capacity of 5 adults per lift and with 400 rooms over 8 floors, a wait of 10/15 minutes was common, especially at meal times.

Room Tip: All Rooms have sea views, but all rooms on the side facing Palma are in shade all day. all rooms on side facing Magaluf get sun all day

Just returned from 11 days at the Santa Lucia, whlle this hotel was spot less the food although you woun:t starve was not of a 4 star quality. The bedrooms were adequate, plenty of wardrobe space, the beds were uncomfortable, still what do you expect from a 3 star hotel, the rooms were kept spotless by the cleaning staff, towels changed every day. the bar staff were fast , when ever you wanted a drink you got one. some of the reviews said the staff were surly and miserable, all i can say if you treat them with respect you will get respect back. We booked this hotel for the location and you could not fault it. People were moaning about the lack of sunbeds, we did not have a problem. All in all a good holiday and would return to this hotel when we come back to Majorca.

Just had a pleasant holiday in Palma Nova Mallorca. Myself, my wife, daughter and grandson stayed at the Santa Lucia which we were informed was a 4 star hotel, this is a bit of a stretch.
We have stayed in 3 star hotels which were far better than this and have had far better selections of food.

The food to be fair, was well cooked and plentiful but very repetitious, if you like chicken, pork and beef cooked in sauces or in breadcrumbs then this is for you. I fail to see how a chef could use such good ingredients with such little imagination.

On to the rooms, our beds were very uncomfortable and the mattresses had seen better days, maybe we were just unlucky as one other reviewer said their bed was comfortable. The air conditioner was not very good needing several hours to reduce the tempertaure to tolerable.

I echo the statement about the cleaners being excellent, the contact we had with them was great, in fact we couldn't fault any of the staff, they were all very pleasant and if you spoke to them as a person and not a slave as some people seem to think, we found they responded with a smile and were very helpfull.

I didn't take up the safe or fridge option, both very expensive, why in this day and age do we need to buy a new fridge on holiday? (well it would be almost as cheap!) We have stayed in a lot of properties where the fridge is part of the room, something this hotel could think about if they want to be considerd for 4 stars proper.

All in all we had a good holiday but it could have been even better had the Santa Lucia lived up to its old reputation.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor facing the sea, found it had an excellent view.

Hotel and food excellent staff very helpful only stayed for 4 nights . Bad point British guest (not German) down by pool at 7 waiting for the pool door to be unlocked so they could put towels on the limited number of sun beds available.Friday 4 beds were taken at 7 but only used after the guest had come back of a tour midday.Would not stay at hotel again if they have not solved this problem

We visited this hotel some time ago and wanted to return to a hotel we could rely on as we had not been to Spain for some years. The room was very well equipped with enough wardrobe space for the three of us which is sometimes not enough. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet at night on the 4th floor. The meals were very good with plenty of choice with very helpful staff on hand, we were on half board so cannot comment all inclusive. The outside area is well thought out a glass screen cuts out the wind if you do get a sun-bed.
Do not go on the Blanket trip as this is a total waste of time and the reps push this so they should be ashamed to do so. We will return to this hotel again as it is in a perfect location for the beach, shops or night-life.. Book here and you won't be sorry .

Room Tip: Pick a high floor not overlooking the pool.
