We stayed all inclusive at the Hotel Hawaii apartments for the second week of August 2010. This was the first year that they have done all inclusive and it showed. We had to queue for meals sometimes and had to queue for drinks every time. Sometimes up to 20 minutes. The staff are all very good, the only problem is that there are not enough of them. The hotel is trying to do this on a shoestring and it isn’t working!
One thing to be aware of is that there appears to be two Hotel Hawaii’s. One is classed as Torrenova and the other is Palma Nova. If you stay in either of them then you cannot have a drink in the other one. We booked our holiday with some family members. They ended up in one hotel and we ended up in the other one. We were not allowed to eat together or have a drink together. They stayed in the palma nova one and they had much better meals than us and their pool area was much better. One of the biggest problems with our hotel was the massive shortage of sunbeds. Towels were left on them all night. We saw many a sunbed with nobody on them all day but there was still a towel on them. People were putting towels on them and then clearing off for the day but didn’t want to lose “their” sunbed.
Plusses for the hotels are the location. They are both ideally situated for access to the marvellous beaches at Palma Nova, and they both have brilliant views from their pool areas.
Of the two Hotels, we would say that the Palma Nova Hotel was a bit better but none of us would ever go back to either of them again.

In off the street to reception we were told we had booked a standard room but were upgraded to a premier that apparently has Mini bar tea making & Playstation. Room 638 directed to room just round the corner from reception. Excellent big room 3 beds toilet you could dance in, pulled the curtains off the balcony & we were 6 floors above the pool area with views to die for. All the facilities were locked & could not be used unless we paid the full price of 25 Euro's per day. Compromised on a fridge installed for 25 for the week. Unfortunately it became clear we were one floor above the Terrace bar & the entrance to the childrens disco etc. This got busier & busier as the evening went on with clouds of cigarrette smoke rising up to our balcony. The noise went on till after 1 am.with many guests on all inclusive. Had to ask for a change of room. reception horrified I explaind the room was perfect but the location not. No proplem moved to 606 another 6 floors up same view fridge transferred. Perfectly good standard room. Excellent staff coping well with somtimes quite rude Brits on holiday. Meals 7 out of 10. Crowded pool area with kids. there is a lift behind the reception area that takes you 6 floors down to the pool from where you walk along a boardwalk & connect to the main promenade that goes right round the bay. Beware this is closed at night & you have to use the main entrance on a steep hill.

The hotel is set perfectly, right next to the sea with a view over the bay (if you pay extra 10 euro/day) and for those out there to party, less than 5 min walk from the Mulligans end of the strip.

We upgraded, thanks Chris, and it was worth it, bigger room, better view and kept spotless by the cleaning staff, even if you didn't get up till midday the rooms were still cleaned.

Reception staff where friendly on the whole, especially the night porter however whilst the bar staff were friendly there was quite often a wait to get a drink and you are limited to 1 per person on the photo pass you are issued when you arrive, understandably I think.

The entertainment is amusing and once again the staff are friendly. There is an internet connection, at a reasonable price

Now, the let down. I felt the food was quite poor standard and choice, even compared to some lower star places I have stayed at. It was quite often swimming in grease and the salad mixes were hit and miss. Saying that, I did put on 4lbs whilst there so wasn't all bad.

I would recommend this to other people, mainly because of its fantastic location, it's clean and friendly. Maybe shoot the chef and it it would be an all in one package to beat the other hotels.

We visited here during the last week of September. The weather was ok, 26C day time and around 17C evenings, marred by a couple of half cloudy days and one night/morning of monsoon rains. The pool area is small for the amount of guests of which half becomes shade from 1100 at this time of year, the sandy beach is 5 minutes walk. The entertainment team were on the go all day and evening keeping the children occupied. The bar area fills up very quickly in the evening. All staff were very polite and friendly. Rooms were cleaned every day to a good standard. Food- buffet style layout with 3 counters preventing queues, overall no complaints. WIFI available in reception area 15 euro per week, there are also pay as you go computers 1 euro per half hour.
This hotel sits on top of a steep hill but there is access for wheel chairs etc. But for the young , the bars are only 5 minutes walk and Magaluf 10 minutes
There is banana boat ride next to hotel 10 euro each minimum 4 persons or doughnuts 20 euro each, the banana boat ride lasts longer.

Me and my Husband have just spent a week at The Hawaii for our honeymoon. I had read many of the reviews on here but, as a hotel front of house worker myself who is used to getting these reviews, I went to the Hawaii with an open mind.
The only bad experience we had was the check in. We arrived at about 1.30am and the gentleman on reception didn't seem to bothered to be there. We think he'd put someone in our room by mistake as he seemed flustered when he was looking at his booking sheet trying to locate us and when he did he appeared to alter the room number on the sheet. We had previously informed the hotel it was our honeymoon as you get wine on arrival. When we got to the room there was no wine. When we asked the receptionist he just shrugged.
Aside from this we found the rest of the hotel staff to be very pleasant, especially the girls that ran the entertainment each day and night. They work so hard but are always smiling and cheery.
The rooms are a little 'retro' but they are very clean. The maids change the sheets and towels everyday and are always friendly when you see them.
We had a stunning view from our 7th floor room with the sun on our balcony in the morning. We also found the beds very comfortable.
The pool area is lovely, a little small but it wasn't overly busy as we went the week most kids went back to school. We also didn't experince problems with the sunbeds like some reviewers mentioned. You did have to get up early if you wanted a decent spot but there were always stacks of spare sunbeds through the day.
The food I was very impressed with! I can be a fussy eater, but always found something to eat! We never had problems getting a table in the restaurant either.
The location is fabulous too, right next to Magaluf strip and a minutes walk into Palma Nova. The beach is a stones throw away and is easily accessable from the pool area.
Overall this hotel is great, we really enjoyed ourselves and are considering going back for our 1st anniversary.

Me and my partner have just returned on the 16th sept, coming to end of their season so was a little quite but a few folk about day an night.
We'd read a few reviews so was a little nervous so we did't have high expectations, on arrival at around 1.00 in the afternoon we were very happy, greeted by some pleasent staff [ be nice to them and there nice to you, thats my moto !!}.
Room number 136, I was gutted bottom floor out of 13, but as ya can see in the photos it was amazing, don't get me wrong there are a few dodgy rooms about wi no views, so we was maybe lucky which it is just pot luck really i think. Rooms cleaned & bed change every day was quite shocked really.
The food, well they do have a wide variety, but more the same every night, it would be ok for veggies as well, soup & bread and puddings were best, breakfast was ok just the same as always but its free, Welsh Mosquito just a short walk at the bottom of hotel 3 - 6 euro for the best english cup a tea and breakfast great to relax before ya go on beach or days out, We had brekkie 3 out of 9 an dinner 4 out of 9 in the hotel but its ok but bland, some waiters are ignorant and don't smile alot so we just pleasd ourselfs really.
Great location border of palmanova and magaluf, just down the short hill right to Palmanova or straight up to magaluf the beaches are clean & tidy few nice places to eat like Ell Mecca's or San Matias BBQ steak Bar, MMMmmmm!!!
Nightlife is relly nice and relaxing in palmanova, an lots of good bars & shops around magaluf, Don't be fooled by going in "Ruby Tuesdays " as a convinience near the hotel the staff are lovely But The DJ is well past the sell by date.
Don't be put of by the hill as ya can walk along the bottom to the hotel an go up in the lift, good for the disabled and ramp at the front entrance aswell.
You have to do the Pirates Uncut show, 45 euro free drinks adults only, Breath taking FANTASTIC!!!!!
Also Palma Aquirium some really impressive fish and sharks its a must do takes about 4 hrs to enjoy it all.
Talking to an oldish guy there an he's been going for the past 15 yrs with family or wife alone so don't be put off by any bad reviews as it really is a nice 3 star hotel/
The Tobbago hotel looks nice aswell thats just over the road.
All in all we have to say it was a very pleasent, Hot, lovely relaxing stay at the Hotel Hawaii & Palmanova and will be returning again one day.xxx
