Avoid. Dinner for two, we ordered 2 pizza's and a bottle of wine. All going ok, until the bill arrives. There are 3 pizzas on the bill, along with two portions of bread. When we query this, the manager has no problem removing extra pizza, but the bread portions were a service charge thst must be paid. I can confirm that it wasn't mentioned at any point that there was a mandatory service charge. We ask what this is about and he says the charge was for knives and forks!! He also stated that in England 10% is normal. We told him in no uncertain terms that we expected to be handed a proper bill. If there is a service charge put it on the menu so there is no surprise. We told him that it should at the very least be listed as a charge and not hidden as bread!! He told us he would give us a new bill but that we were no longer welcome in his restaurant!!
Re the 3 pizzas on the bill where we had 2, mistakes will happen and that is no problem, but given the other antics, it pains me to say, I think he was pulling a fast one there too. On the whole an awful experience. Tried to make us feel like the bad guy for asking for a bill that corresponded to what we ate. The big shame- pizza wasn't half bad..
