Great hotel in a great location on the beach - within walking distance of Magaluf, but also far enough away you weren't bothered by any noise or nonsense!

All of the staff at the hotel had excellent english so there wasn't the language barrier you usually encounter in spain.

Reception:
Fab, very friendly and helpful and check in was done in a matter of minutes.

Restaurant:
Staff were super friendly, very helpful and attentitive.
At breakfast it was your traditional fry up with a good selection and also a good selection of cereal (inc weetabix and sugar free porridge!)
There was a good selection of food at dinner, even though I am a fussy eater. There was a different pasta dish every night and a lot of the nights there was another vegetarian dish like vegetarian chilli which was lovely! There was also a good selection of meat/fish dishes and they even had yorkie puds on the Sunday with roast beef!
I'm not a big fan of dessert but there was plenty to choose from and the cookie ice cream was to die for!!

Rooms:
In my opinion were a bit on the small side but very clean and for all the time you spend in your room it didn't really matter. Balcony looked onto the pool and sea so was nice and the patio set was so comfortable, none of this white plastic seats!

Pool:
Very clean, felt very cold at first but very refreshing once you were in! Provided with float aids so was good for those who can't swim. Also a jacuzzi outside that was lovely and warm and very relaxing!

Hotel have a fab idea for the sunbeds, if the sunbed is vacant they put a sticker on it with the time and if your towel is still there and unused 1 hour later they will remove it to reception which means everyone has a chance of getting a sunbed and people can't put their towels down and go away for the day.

You can also hire a towel for the pool for 12 euros and keep it for the week, when you return it on departure you get your 12 euros back - an excellent idea!

Entertainment:
Day time entertainment was overall very good, and spread through the day. A good way to get to know people.
Evening entertainment was a hit or a miss but maybe this comes down to my age. We did play the bingo and even won, we watched some of the ABBA tribute act which was ok and there was a comedian who was excellent.

A lot of the reviews suggest everyone at this hotel are ancient - this isn't the case I am in my mid twenties and there was a number of younger guests. Yes the majority was a variety of older couples, going right up the scale from 30's... it was great because there is no under 16's so you could swim in the pool if you wished.

Overall a great holiday!

Just returned from a four day break, first time at this hotel and would definately return. The setting is great, right on the beach and a choice of the bars of Palma Nova or the Magaluf strip. Hotel staff where great, nothing too much trouble, food was fantastic, we ate outside each morning and evening, spent little time round the pool but got beds no problem. Returned to room on my birthday to find card and bottle of champange in ice bucket, lovely touch which was unprompted. Would definately stay again, some of the entertainment looked a bit ropey, but i guess suited the clientel its aimed at, we were to busy in the bars to care.

Well Done to to all

Lovely hotel - great views for all. Food is fine - they did not over cook the caulifleur - first time ever in Spain I ate it. Good rule for Sunbeds - I appreciated this. Dining is a pleasure as they let you pick your own table and we ate outside 90% of the time. Lovely and quiet at night so could get enough sleep to enjoy the next day. Staff good, very clean room lovely.

we have just come back from son matias there were 4 of us all over 55 and we had a great time nice and quite ,,,the hotel had some young people in ,so its not just for over 60 as a lot of people think, its a mixed age group so you dont have to be a old age pensioner to go there,,,the hotel is clean and the pool is lovely plenty of sun beds they open the doors to the pool at 9am so you can get a sunbed , the food is good but it could be a better choice with the evening meal,, there is salad but not a lot of cold meats to go with it, the main meal is chichen or fish or rice and limited veg with chips or boiled potatoes,, then there is the sweets and 2 diffrent icecreams the only problem with the sweet is, if you get cake there is no cream to put on it so it is a bit on the dry side, unless you put hot custard on it or ice cream,, so for a 4/5 star hotel the food lets it down,, but you can get a snack at lunch time from the bar or snack bar round the pool and the price is not too bad,,apart from the poor food the hotel is great, with lovely rooms all seaview and only 9 floors,, I would go back to this hotel next time in palma nova,, it is better than some of the other 5 star hotels its just the food lets it down, but apart from that its great, on the beach and the shops and pubs are just outside the main entrance and magaluf is 5 mins walk away,, so you are in the middle of everything but it is still nice and quite.....so if you want a good clean quite hotel try the son matias, it also as good acts on in the bar at night and some nights they play bingo for about 30 mins and quiz nights too, so there is something for everyone,,,,,,,the reps work very hard to make you happy doing games in the pool and other games in the bar ,there is something going off everday to stop you getting bored,........if you want a good hotel this is the one for you.........I am sure you will be happy with it, give it a try,,,,,,,happy holidays...................

Stayed here with my partner matt from July the 18th- July 25 and it was one of the best holidays we have been on the hotel is great and loved the fact it was adults only ,we were on the 9th floor and the view was fantastic we emailed the hotel a week before and asked for a high floor and was given one the reception staff and all the staff were excellent loved the sun bed rule as it meant sunbeds were free unlike other hotels.

The entertainment staff heather and Clair were fantastic there lovely and we really enjoyed the games i read reviews on here saying that the games and hotel was for the over 60s that is complete rubbish we are in our mid 20 and we loved the entertainment and games depends on what you want from a holiday we wanted a nice relaxing fun holiday and thats what we got thanks to the great staff . The games were really enjoyable and competitve and finally on the last day I won a certificate and was given a medal for participating in the games which was really kind .The hotel is perfectly situated on the beach and is just lovely. The food was great quality and something for everyone.

We enjoyed the evening entertainment especially George P was really funny and entertaining ,The singer singing hits from the 70s and elvis was really good and the quizzes put on from the entertainment staff were enjoyable
