“hotel robbers”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

just got back from hotel today 13/09/13 food and drink on all inclusive very good something to suit everyone and entertainment fairly good but too much in house entertainment and not enough outside profesional shows, the staff and entertainment very good, thats the plus side,
now the down side, nearly everyday at least 3 robberies from rooms and actually talked to someone who had been robbed, went to reception to ask about security and got a blank answer, went to rep and asked the same question about security trying to catch these people and was told with no cctv there was very little they could do even safes are not safe and had to carry money on my person after to paying the great safe rip off 25 euros for a week so i cannot advise anyone to book at this hotel, shame as this a good hotel which is going to be closed for refurbishment in the next 2 weeks.

Room Tip: most rooms are pool views

we stayed at the palace from 03/09/13 to 10/09/13. our stay was pleasant and comfortable, the hotel/rooms were always clean, the staff were friendly and the food was very good!! me and my wife have been to the palace for the last 11 years and have always enjoyed our holidays. there are varied age groups in the hotel, always expected when its a adults only hotel. people on trip advisor have complained several times about the robberies in the hotel but during our stay we made a few friends that's had been there two week prior to our visit and they all said that they hadn't heard of any robberies in the palace, which makes me question if it actually happened?!?
we seen that there was complaints that there wasn't a lift to the 8th floor but we stayed on the 8th floor room 835 which we used the lift to get to and from our room so I don't know what some people on trip advisor are complaining about? the entertainment wasn't to our taste so we went for walks a few evening during our stay but we cant say that entertainment wasn't provided when it was, everyday and every evening. I would defiantly go back for the 12th time I wont let moaning miserable put me off!!!

Room Tip: marineland was a great day out, for all age groups, its well worth the 24euros

04-09-2013 11-09-2013 We have just returned home from our holiday in the palma nova palace hotel. We were having a lovely time until the last day when our room was robbed (camera,i- pads, pefumes) The reception staff were no help at all they said we had to report it to the police. When we arrived at the police station we were told nobody could speak English and would have to pay 50 euros for an interpreter who would come to the hotel the next day. As we were leaving at 7am this was pointless. The room next to us 502 was also robbed and all their euros had been taken £ 500 which was in a locked suitcase. They asked their rep to transfer them to another hotel. This is so bad for the hotel and all the staff who work there. Carole & Bob

Just back from holiday. We went for a week from 31st Aug to 7th Sept.Hotel was dated but tidy.could be a bit cleaner..food awful unless you like grease. Our room had lovely view of the sae/beach n pool.Balcony could have been larger. We read the reviews, so i had asked for a change of hotel which they were going to do for and extra £123.37 each for the week.We said no way, so stayed at the hotel.we did not take a safe as all the thefts were inside jobs and all things stolen from the safe.Even the rep knew there was a conspiracy going on but was helpless. Our first day there were 4 rooms done....2 days later 6 rooms were done.People were going mad about it as not only their money was stolen it was their passports and mobiles and everything in the safe.We then started to advise folk not to take a safe but to carry everything with then like we did.We had door alarms, padlocks that used swipe cards,we even bought bike chain padlocks to lock our suitcases together ,and if they did pick all that our presents were in a black travel bag in our suitcase with combination locks. We had ants in our room which 4 days running i had to complain and they would come up and spray the room but it wasnt enough. They were in the toilet, bath and even in our bed which we had to strip n shake the sheets every nigh.Even then i still go bites....Our air con did not work so for 3 days on the trot i complained about that. They did try to fix it but it was making the room hotter so we just opened the patio door at night to keep the room cool.we could do that as we were on the 7th floor and no one could jump the balcony as we wet on a corner.....Would never go there again......and i cant understand why Thomas cook dont pull out of this hotel....its not fair that you spend your hard earned cash on this dump.you want to go on holiday to relax and not to be stressed incase you get your things stolen....the pool is very small and very cold. The sunbathing area is shaded and its about 12 midday before you get the sun till 6 pm.

Room Tip: 703 was not a bad room as you didn't get any of the noise, and the view was good.pity it wasnt c...

stayed at this hotel for 11 nights came back on the 7 sept 2013 the rooms were clean did see the odd few ants which I found in the bathroom don't know where they came from as we were on the 8th floor. the pool area was small and shaded but ok, food was limited so ate out most of the time all the staff were polite do not think that it should be classed as a 4 star more like 3 star. Our only concern was all the reports of thefts that was going on while we was there 3 girls had euros stolen out of their safe another couple had 10 pouches of tobacco stolen out of their case while in the courtesy room the day they were going home and then the day before we were to fly home a women had all her jewellery stolen out of her room made you very uneasy about leaving any thing in room even though we had a safe we decided to carry all our things with us at all times. would not recommend this hotel to anyone for that reason.it was a nice location for the shops bars and beach. spent most of our time on beach left stuff while in sea and nothing was ever stolen so felt safer leaving things there than in our room.

just returned with hubby after 7 days at the palma nova palace 31st to the 7th of september
after reading the reviews were very very concerned about the robberies and even contacted thomas cook direct there advise was take your handbag every where with you and dont worrry we are sure you will have a nice vacation (TOTALLY USLESS) when we arrived the hotel seemed better than we expected not as dated as some people say our room was as expected the reception staff were very misserable never spoke or smilled the senior restaurant staff well they only spoke to you if you were german spanish or over 60 they were rude beyond belief the food was ok if you like grease and no choice what so ever for vegetrians i lived on salads and fruit for the whole week the entertaiment was great KAY AND GAZ were brilliant they mad e the holiday for us they deserve a medal the distance to the beach is around 10 minutes walk not 5 minutes as some people say unless you are a 20 year old athlete one last thing there are alot of robberies at this hotel somepeople say its internal who knows but defintely hire a safe as you are not insured if your items are stolen and not in a safe

Just returned back from here on 1st Sept 2013 following a 9 day stay at this hotel. Firstly I would like to say the hotel is SPOTLESS which is a huge bonus for me and to be fair to the hotel, they also honoured our room request of a higher floor sea view (Room 804). This hotel is definitely NOT a 4 star but more like a 3 star!!!
Location - Set back from main strip in Palma Nova but a nice quiet location and just a very short walk to both beach and shops, bars, restaurant etc etc.
Staff - Couldn't do more to assist you. Both bar staff and reception staff very helpful, friendly and accommodating. NOTHING was too much trouble. The restaurant manager (Pedro) was the most miserable rude man I think I have ever met. Not once did he smile or change his facial expression, throughout the whole stay. That man SHOULD NOT be working in the hospitality trade.
Pool Area - Awful, it is tiny and shaded and nowhere big enough to accommodate all the guests in the hotel. The awful fighting and scrapping for the beds at 8.45am was just not my scene, so used beach instead.
Restaurant - Most of staff were pleasant apart from the odd one, who cleared your plate before you had finished eating which is rude!!! Food is fantastic, so much choice of meat fish, salad, soup, desserts. There is also a chef there every evening with a carved roast, usually pork or beef and you get a good choice of potatoes too (chips are fab, really tasty). Breakfast is awesome, full English, cereals, yoghurt, fruit!!! So much choice!! Certain guests were behaving stupidly as you often get with all inclusive. One woman actually ran and raced me to the toaster at breakfast (pathetic). My only criticism would be that the restaurant is not big enough to house all the guests, we often had to wait for a table!! Overall though, dining was a pleasure!!!
Drinks - Their own local brands which are weak as hell, so if you plan to get quite drunk lol buy the branded names, we drank loads and weren't even merry!!! However you could go back to the bar every 2 mins if you wanted and drink as much as you wanted, no funny looks and they were smiling and pleasant at all times!!!
Rooms - Very dated, but ample with nice balcony and spotlessly clean!!! Sheets were changed every other day and we always had fresh towels left for us. Room fridge was a nightmare, do not put anything in the door, it broke on us twice and fell off lol. Plenty of wardrobe space but we had to ask for more hangers as there wasn't enough!!! Air conditioning was good in rooms but you do need to leave the card in the slot when out or room is boiling. I used my Matalan card until we were given an extra card from man in reception. Bathroom had the most awful smell of chicken noodle soup which bowled you over when you walked in the room. Probably because the extractor fan did not work, but not nice all the same. Shower and taps were positioned in the middle of bath, so you could not take a bath or shower without bath taps jabbing in your backside, most uncomfortable!!! One plug socket in whole room unless you unplugged television but then a nightmare to access as dressing table was in way!! They seriously need to address the socket issue!!!
Lifts - Really slow and only go up to 7th floor, so if you are on 8th floor like we were you have to trek both yourself and luggage up a long flight of stairs to get to your room.
Entertainment - Cheesy, karaoke and awful music, too loud we had to sit outside in evening just to maintain a conversation, no seats anyway inside it was like an overcrowded holiday camp!!!
Safe - 30 euros with a 5 euro return when you handed in key!!!
Wi Fi - Available free of charge only in reception, otherwise there was a charge of 18 euros for the week. Free wi fi on beach and most of the bars cafes on seafront!!
Thefts - On arrival I tore strips of man at reception about the thefts as naturally we were concerned. I made it quite clear that we were putting cameras in room and if anything went missing they would be filmed and shown to police. Nothing was taken from our room, but I had a locked suitcase with a keycard lock on (can't be picked) and we kept expensive perfume, presents and valuables in there!! We heard of no robberies at all until last day where we discovered 3 young girls had had all there money stolen from safe (only euros, they left the sterling) and they paid for a translator and reported it but still had to call home and get their boyfriends to transfer money for them!!! Disgusting and it's definitely an inside job, they are using the master key in the front of the safe and robbing them!!! Reception guy told us the safe's getting robbed was lies and nothing had ever been stolen from safe, clearly it has as it happened when we were there!!! My advice would be not to bother with safe and just get a cardkey padlock for your case and lock all valuables in there!!
Beds - Never in my life have I slept in such an uncomfortable hard bed. We barely slept the whole holiday as we couldn't get comfy at all. Ask for extra pillows and lie on them rather than mattress.
Adults Only - Godsend, no screaming kids to annoy you!!!

Summary - Overall a good holiday, unfortunately weather was bad, we had 2 and a half nice days out of 9. Thunderstorms, rain and very humid. Hotel average and did the trick but would not return to Palmanova Palace again. Would stay in a different hotel next time!!!

Room Tip: Higher floor room is nice and quiet but no lift to 8th floor so would go for 7th if you struggle wit...
