We had a perfect week at Finca son Palou - our 4 month old's first holiday. Marc and all his staff ensured that everything was made as easy as possible for us and in particular, we appreciated being served dinner every evening on our private terrace after baby had gone to bed. The room was large and comfortable with a super bathroom. Food was delicious, especially the fish and the nightly specials. If you value real peace and quiet and being left alone on holiday, then you will love this hotel. Just the right blend of luxury and informality.

The finca is set in a tiny village, Orient, that lies in a beautiful setting of hills and valleys.
Roads are narrow and winding, with lots of hairpin bends, so the first approach to the hotel can be quite daunting.
One quickly adapts though, and, if you like challenging driving, this can add to the enjoyment of approaching the hotel on those days you venture out.
The room we had was comfortable and spacious with a private, north facing terrace. I would agree with a previous reviewer that the rooms are not luxurious but they are fine and very clean. We certainly had no complaints.
If you choose not to go anywhere then that's fine, too. The hotel has lovely gardens looking out over the surrounding valley, with only the tinkling is sheep bells and an occasional aeroplane to break the silence. If the weather is good, as it was when we were there, there is a small but well positioned affinity pool to swim in.
All the staff are pleasant and helpful but also very discreet and this adds to the sense of relaxation.
I still don't know what time check out is because it was never mentioned and I saw no literature that mentioned it - a sign of a truly relaxed establishment.
Least but not least, the food is heavenly and superbly presented. We particularly enjoyed a dessert called "Zino" - I won't spoil the surprise; try it yourself!
We will certainly be back as soon as we can!

Room Tip: Room 14 is north facing with a terrace; good if you don 't like too much heat.

A fantastic spot for a romantic break. On arrival we were greeted with a glass of Cava which set the tone of our stay. The only noises are the birds and the sheep. We had breakfast out in the delightful courtyard, a perfect way to start the day. Great walking location, the staff couldn't have been more helpful with advise for the many various routes. Excellent room, we had a superior room with terrace which afforded amazing views of the valley. Meals in the restaurant were superb. Can definitely recommend this beautifully idyllic hotel.

This is a gorgeous hotel, in the pretty, quiet village of orient. It is an old farmhouse, and has modern facilities whilst retaining old charm.
The cars are parked off site, so the only noises you hear are sparrows, bees and sheep. It is a windy drive of 30 mins + to soller, and 45 to deia. If you want A busy, bustling and people watching place then this is not it. Deia is charming, but packed with tour buses and cyclists; we were thrilled to escape to our quiet paradise at the end of our touring day.
The sweet village of Alaro, and castle are not far, and next to the hotel is a fabulous european/asian fusion restaurant called mandala, which gives some variety from the lovely hotel restaurant. Breakfasts are great too. Nice pool, unsheathed so a bit chilly in April.

Room Tip: If you stretch to it, the balcony rooms are lovely

We spent a wonderful week at Son Palou in a beautiful valley in the mountains. Just 30 Minutes away from the Airport, you enter a complete different world in midst of centuries old olive trees and stone oak trees and grazing sheep herds. The fica is very picturesque, just the way you imagine it in your dreams. With rosemary bushes everywhere, very old and large trees. Perfectly maintained garden and a large pool for the sun lovers. It is an excellent starting point for short and long hikes in the surrounding mountains or trips to the cliffs of the west coast. BTW, the village Orient is UNESCO World heritage village. We booked half board to avoid nighttime driving on the very small streets and had no regrets. The restaurant is absolutely outstanding. A wonderland for gourmets. Excellent and reasonably priced wines from Mallorca are on the list to please he wine lovers. The rooms are very spacious and I appreciated the unexpected WiFi connection in the rooms. That helps to keep in touch with your loved ones without skyrocketing roaming fees of the telecoms. Although, if you fell in love with one of the rooms you see in the portal, you probably better phone up the very friendly stuff to make sure you are not disappointed. We had room Number 11 to the west side with nice sunset views and an open view over the valley. We did not like the two separate beds though, but so be it. Rooms have a good heating and AC for the various climates you may experience up here. Over all we can highly recommend this place.

Beautiful converted farmhouse, decorated to a very high standard. Sitting rooms and dining room very relaxing and comfortable. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable with a lovely terrace and an amazing view of the countryside. The food was consistantly of a very high standard and Marc and his team were so kind and helpful. The hotel is very well placed for walking, cycling, sightseeing or just sitting and reading a book, it is possibly one of the best holidays we have had; they also make the best gin and tonic ever! I cannot wait to return.

My wife and I finally managed to return to Son Palou after our first visit there 5 years ago and we were very relieved to find that nothing has changed - it is still PERFECT! Even the same friendly faces were there to greet us.

We stayed in the same room (9) which was just as luxurious as we remembered it. The food was fantastic and the staff were great - especially Diana at the breakfast service.

We didn't hire a car on this occasion (taxi was just EUR 50 from airport and only 30 minutes) because we know the island very well and didn't need to venture beyond Orient. Instead we just wanted total relaxation and Finca Son Palou certainly delievered just that. After a leisurely luxury breakfast we read books on the private terrace of our room or at the many other vantage points around the property. The only noise was that of the newly born lambs in the fields below - bliss! We also walked around the estate and there was a hike for all moods and fitness levels!

We also ate out in the village restaurant 'Orient' and also Mandala restaurant and both were superb. Due to the Easter celebrations and constant stream of cyclists stopping for a coffee in Orient there was a great atmosphere in the village yet it still was so peaceful.

Finca Son Palou is the perfect detox to our hectic London life and we hope not to leave it another 5 years before returning.

Keep up the great work Marc and team.
