I wanted to give this finca a "good" rating but the TA system doesn't have anything between average and very good. In some respects it was very good, but it was let down in others, which is why I have rated it as only average.
The location is great if, like us, you appreciate tranquility and lovely views. However, you can have too much of a good thing and it would have been nice if it had been a little livelier in the evenings. At times the atmosphere was self-conscious, with people speaking in hushed tones - somewhat reminiscent of breakfast time in so many English B&Bs. A bar with music playing where people could socialise with other guests would help in this regard.
In general the staff was efficient and quite friendly, although some were not particularly engaging. Be prepared to carry your suitcases to and from your room. I am sure they would help if it was requested, but they didn't seem about to offer.
The food and service at breakfast were very good. The young lady that waited on us most mornings was very attentive and pleasant.
The lunch menu is very limited and uninspiring, but this wasn't so much of an issue for us as we went for drives most days and had lunch out.
We were very unimpressed with the dinner we had on the first night. One of our main courses was inedible and the other was mediocre. Definitely not value for money. There are plenty of good restaurants not too far away in Port Soller, but the drive there includes 25 minutes of sharp switchbacks over the mountain and I wasn't keen on the idea of driving back in the dark after a glass or two of the local vino. Fortunately, there are a couple of good restaurants a short walk away in the village. It would definitely have marred our week had we had to dine at the finca every evening.
We found the beds very comfortable and were not disturbed by noise from neigbouring rooms. Our bedroom was quite spacious, but it had just one smallish window and was rather gloomy. Storage space for clothes was not generous. The wardrobe was OK but a chest of drawers wouldn't have gone amiss.
It was great to be able to walk directly from the property, although be warned that the tracks into the hills are pretty rough and rocky in places so you need proper footwear.
The pool is on the small side but it didn't get too busy while we were there so that was OK. What was not OK was the temperature. As with so many hotels in Spain it was too cold. When you are paying €200 and up per night you tend to think it wouldn't hurt if the owners heated the pool to a more comfortable level.
All in all we had a relaxing and agreeable break, but I am not sure we will return.
