BCM Hotel
Ranked #22 of 28 Hotels in Magaluf
Reviewed July 26, 2012 via mobile

I went to the Sahara at the end of June for a week with 2 friends for an amazing week in magaluf. The hotel was one of the best parts about the week! If you're looking for a good time with people your own age, go here. There's music all day by the pool, everyone by the pool area was our age and also just wanted to have a laugh! Great place to chill out and meet new people! At night time between around 9pm-12am its like your in university halls, everyone is playing music and pre drinking with their doors open and chilling In the corridors, it's such a laugh and a great atmosphere to have a drink before you go out! Rooms are basic but so clean! It's around the corner from BCM and your opposite neighbour is mallorca rocks hotel! About a 10/15 minute walk to the strip. Loads of places to eat around, little restaurants and fast food places . We didn't pay over €10 for an evening meal and a drink! All the reviews about theft etc just mean you should have common sense. Your door has a double lock on it, so use it! And hide your safe key! It's a no brainer. Also, if there are people saying its loud/disgusting/rowdy, do not come to magaluf if you don't want to party, simple! There were 2 families in our hotel, the kids were bored cos there was no one else to play with and I just thought to myself, what on earth were they thinking bringing their family here in peak 18-30 season?! I had the time of my life at the Sahara and I would gladly go back next year but for longer, a week is not enough to do everything!
Only cons are the ceiling fan, we think ours was dodgey cos it was slower than some of the other rooms, they could definitely sort the rooms out with some air con cos it was boiling, the fan just circulated hot air.
We also had to pay a €30 deposit which we didn't know about, we got it back but it was demanded from us as soon as we checked in.
The security guards at night(or morning rather) can be a bit of a pain too, if you're not wearing your fiesta Sahara wristband, no entry into the hotel, bringing friends back is a no go.
Nothing major though. I had an amazing time, made loads of friends at the hotel and was devastated to leave! Fresh sahara it was an absolute pleasure!

After an amazing stay at the Mallorca Rocks in 2011 for what was suppose to be out last holiday together as we are getting on we decided to have one last week at the Mallorca rocks this summer so booked it last October for 8 of us. We paid so we would have stageside views and booked early so we could stay in this hotel. 10 days before we are to set off we get a phone call saying we are now in the Sahara due to overbooking and got offered no compo. When we arrived at the Sahara it looked run down and after travelling through the night got told our rooms where not ready so had to wait about 4hours. Once we got into our rooms we found them basic and the view was of a block of flats and not the stageside one we had paid for. The hotel throughout was dirty with rubbish in the trees, pool, along the corridor and in the lifts. Throughout the week we found that the hotel had very little security and this resulted in people running riot banging on doors and playing music until 7am. We also kept getting prank calls saying we had to go to reception which after a couple of times of this happening we unplugged the phone. When we told the reception this they didnt care so we spoke to the rep who seemed more interested in selling us trips. We also found that outside PR's are able to just wonder the hotel and walk into rooms trying to pressure you into going on there bar crawls. We got clean towels once while there and the cleaner didnt clean the room..just emptied the bin. I have stayed in some dumped but this beats them all.

Was a bit of a controversial start due to the fact we were suppose to be stopping in the Mallorca Rocks hotel but they outbooked us to the Sahara hotel which they have done to loads of people as we found out when we got over there. however this was a blessing in disguise as this hotel is far better, the only good thing about Mallorca rocks is the gigs! if your off on a lads holiday then this is perfect! there was so many birds at this hotel it was stupid! the reps are awesome and I advise you do all the activitys they offer you, bar crawls, water parks etc.

BCM is quality and so is the strip, the beach is really good and the restaurants served really nice cuisine, all in all Magaluf is 10 out of 10 in my book and ill definatly be going back!

went to magaluf on the 27th june to the 5th July with 8 other girls all aged 18 years old. Had the most amazing time. the hotel was just what you need for a girls/boys holidays. rooms are clean, the kitchen is useable and the bathroom is also clean. Hotel staff were really nice and so were the maids. buying a safe for £30 is a good idea as you can put all your valuables in there before you go on a night out and you know that their safe. the pool was lovely, loads of sun beds and everyone was sociable. this hotel is mainly for younger people as everyone is out there to have a good time and not get in until the early hours of the morning. Overall this hotel was perfect seeing as we didn't pay that much and we were barely in the room! can't wait until I can go back there again.

Room Tip: Rent a Safe

Just returned from a two week stay at the Fiesta Sahara and i am relieved to say i had a really good experience. We traveled as a group of 6 girls aged 19-21 on a girly holiday but after reading so many bad reviews beforehand we were very apprehensive about our stay. First impressions of the hotel in all honesty were terrible but this was due to a number of factors such as arriving at 4am when most of the drunk people were just coming in , in a dingy lift to a noisy corridor full of pissed people whilst we were tired and having to maneuver our luggage. The only thing i would say would say on arrival is to be ready to pay a 30 euro deposit each and have some euro's to get a safe ( We put all our valuables in a safe and nothing was stolen!) we even sometimes left money on the sides in the room and ipods and phones around and nothing was stolen in the whole two weeks.Secondly , if your not bothered by the noise the lack of air con will be the next problem , this is possibly the only real problem i found with the hotel it is far too hot on an evening and in a morning and the ceiling fans just circulate the warm air around , we hired a fan from the reception for 3 euros a day and it was totally worth it ! After the initial shock of the hotel we had a fab time , its basic , kept very clean (the maids do an excellent job considering the state of some of the rooms!)fun and lively hotel! Its location is really good across from Mallorca rocks and only a short walk away from both the strip and the beach. The pool area is huge and has music playing all day , no umbrellas around the pool area though which is problematic if you have sun burn hence we spent most days at the beach but all in all it was a really good place to stay if your young and going on a girls/lads holiday! There were a few problems with our room such as balcony door not locking properly and other minor issues but nothing major . DEFINITELY NOT FOR FAMILIES AT THIS TIME OF YEAR!!! there were one or two families which i saw whilst we were there but the majority of people in high season are aged 18-30 causing lots of noise at night and coming in in the early morning, the music around the pool area is loud and generally the hotel clearly caters for young people at this time of year! Hotel security guards were quite strict on people who did not stop in the hotel , our friends from another hotel came round to get ready with us one night and were refused entry , however people from other hotels did get in so its not impossible! Staff were relatively friendly and polite and we had no problems at all! For the kind of holiday we wanted this hotel was perfect clean tidy and had all the basic essentials.
Great for young people going on a drinking holiday! Families go somewhere nice not to maga!!!!

Before going on holiday I read the reviews and started to panic about my money been stolen as that was what most people had written about. I was surprised when walking down the corridor to doors wide open and when I had a peek into other people’s rooms and they were a dump and if I was a maid I would have stolen their money because honestly they deserved to be paid more. People’s money what had been stolen will have been one of the kids that leave their door wide open and blame the maids.
There were 6 girls aged 19-21 that went and the only thing I can complain about is that there’s no air con but we knew that when we booked it, you can hire out fans which helped. Reading other peoples reviews that have gone and stayed in Maga they must be stupid to think that it wasn’t going to be full of wasted kids. I would advise families to go stay in Palma Nova. I have a great holiday and would go back again!!

Room Tip: Bottom floor rooms are quieter!

Just got back from a week at The Fiesta Sahara, 9 of us stayed with 3 in each rooms and can honestly say that it has been such a pleasant experience. Read loads of negative reviews beforehand so we were anxious as to the quality of the hotel - however upon arrival found it was extremely clean, and more spacious than we had imagined. Maid came 3 times during the week and we had no accounts of theft/damage etc. Safe cost 30 euro and was an excellent buy as none of our personal items went missing at all during the stay. One day our door to our room came off its hinges from it being slammed too hard and was fixed within 1/2 hour - very efficient service. Beds were average as were bathroom facilities but this was expected - overall you get exactly what you paid for so you should expect no more/less. Pool was clean, big and had such a great atmosphere - make sure to get sunbeds early-ish though. Food was decent although only ate at hotel once as there are so many other places around to eat (Tom Browns round the corner = excellent and SO cheap) Music/parties every night down the hallways - made loads of friends and a really sociable place. Hotel staff were pleasant and reps were excellent and gave loads of advice and helped book tickets etc. Many people say Mallorca Rocks is better, however I can safely say Fiesta Sahara is equally as good - and you're paying less! Warning to families however - THIS IS NOT A HOTEL FOR CHILDREN! Dominated totally by 18-30s there is no point booking a family holiday here as you will get no sleep. One of the best weeks of my life and would definitely consider booking here again!
