“Pleasantly surprised !”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

Just returned from a two week stay at the Fiesta Sahara and i am relieved to say i had a really good experience. We traveled as a group of 6 girls aged 19-21 on a girly holiday but after reading so many bad reviews beforehand we were very apprehensive about our stay. First impressions of the hotel in all honesty were terrible but this was due to a number of factors such as arriving at 4am when most of the drunk people were just coming in , in a dingy lift to a noisy corridor full of pissed people whilst we were tired and having to maneuver our luggage. The only thing i would say would say on arrival is to be ready to pay a 30 euro deposit each and have some euro's to get a safe ( We put all our valuables in a safe and nothing was stolen!) we even sometimes left money on the sides in the room and ipods and phones around and nothing was stolen in the whole two weeks.Secondly , if your not bothered by the noise the lack of air con will be the next problem , this is possibly the only real problem i found with the hotel it is far too hot on an evening and in a morning and the ceiling fans just circulate the warm air around , we hired a fan from the reception for 3 euros a day and it was totally worth it ! After the initial shock of the hotel we had a fab time , its basic , kept very clean (the maids do an excellent job considering the state of some of the rooms!)fun and lively hotel! Its location is really good across from Mallorca rocks and only a short walk away from both the strip and the beach. The pool area is huge and has music playing all day , no umbrellas around the pool area though which is problematic if you have sun burn hence we spent most days at the beach but all in all it was a really good place to stay if your young and going on a girls/lads holiday! There were a few problems with our room such as balcony door not locking properly and other minor issues but nothing major . DEFINITELY NOT FOR FAMILIES AT THIS TIME OF YEAR!!! there were one or two families which i saw whilst we were there but the majority of people in high season are aged 18-30 causing lots of noise at night and coming in in the early morning, the music around the pool area is loud and generally the hotel clearly caters for young people at this time of year! Hotel security guards were quite strict on people who did not stop in the hotel , our friends from another hotel came round to get ready with us one night and were refused entry , however people from other hotels did get in so its not impossible! Staff were relatively friendly and polite and we had no problems at all! For the kind of holiday we wanted this hotel was perfect clean tidy and had all the basic essentials.
Great for young people going on a drinking holiday! Families go somewhere nice not to maga!!!!

Before going on holiday I read the reviews and started to panic about my money been stolen as that was what most people had written about. I was surprised when walking down the corridor to doors wide open and when I had a peek into other people’s rooms and they were a dump and if I was a maid I would have stolen their money because honestly they deserved to be paid more. People’s money what had been stolen will have been one of the kids that leave their door wide open and blame the maids.
There were 6 girls aged 19-21 that went and the only thing I can complain about is that there’s no air con but we knew that when we booked it, you can hire out fans which helped. Reading other peoples reviews that have gone and stayed in Maga they must be stupid to think that it wasn’t going to be full of wasted kids. I would advise families to go stay in Palma Nova. I have a great holiday and would go back again!!

Room Tip: Bottom floor rooms are quieter!

Just got back from a week at The Fiesta Sahara, 9 of us stayed with 3 in each rooms and can honestly say that it has been such a pleasant experience. Read loads of negative reviews beforehand so we were anxious as to the quality of the hotel - however upon arrival found it was extremely clean, and more spacious than we had imagined. Maid came 3 times during the week and we had no accounts of theft/damage etc. Safe cost 30 euro and was an excellent buy as none of our personal items went missing at all during the stay. One day our door to our room came off its hinges from it being slammed too hard and was fixed within 1/2 hour - very efficient service. Beds were average as were bathroom facilities but this was expected - overall you get exactly what you paid for so you should expect no more/less. Pool was clean, big and had such a great atmosphere - make sure to get sunbeds early-ish though. Food was decent although only ate at hotel once as there are so many other places around to eat (Tom Browns round the corner = excellent and SO cheap) Music/parties every night down the hallways - made loads of friends and a really sociable place. Hotel staff were pleasant and reps were excellent and gave loads of advice and helped book tickets etc. Many people say Mallorca Rocks is better, however I can safely say Fiesta Sahara is equally as good - and you're paying less! Warning to families however - THIS IS NOT A HOTEL FOR CHILDREN! Dominated totally by 18-30s there is no point booking a family holiday here as you will get no sleep. One of the best weeks of my life and would definitely consider booking here again!

If you want a hotel with rude staff, sticky floors, boiling hot rooms due to lack of air-con and you don't mind being kept awake all night by screaming, shouting teens banging on doors then book this place, you'll love it!!
Close to the beach (which is actually quite nice, probably because you have to pay for the sunloungers and the yobs don't bother), plenty of bars and restaurants close by (you can't walk past without getting harassed to go in), waterpark is a 15 minute walk and wasn't as packed as we thought it would be, BCM square and the strip were full of wasted kids, it was just like The Inbetweeners movie!
I went as part of a hen weekend but would never go back to this hotel or Magaluf in fact.
Fine for teenagers on their first drunken holiday but if you're over 25 and have outgrown the "getting as drunk as is humanly possible" phase, don't go!

Just back from ten days in the fresh sahara apartments and I have no complaints!! They are clean, very central (across the road from Mallorca Rocks hotel) and very lively!! We went as a group of 4 girls and were looking for a good time-we're Irish ;) Music was blaring everyday and we got wrist-bands to access the gigs in mallorca rocks! BCM and the beach are less than a five min walk and there were restaurants all around us. Rooms were very well equipped with plenty of space and the Balconys are very spacious also. Full of young people though so would not recommend this for families. Very safe and secure, security guards on the door at night and you had to show your band to get in. Have never seen that level of security anywhere in Spain before. Would LOVE to go back! :D

Room Tip: I would recommend opting for a pool view if you're into scenic views from the room!

After reading the reviews extensively I had mixed reviews with regards to the hotel. Me and and a group of 7 went on our first 'lads' holiday at the start of the 'party season' - 12th June and left on the 21st. When we arrived, late at night, i thought the hotel did not look as bad as what I had imagined - quite nice infact. After going through the book in motions: names, room numbers, bands and the 30 euro deposit, we finally got to our room. Initial thoughts were that it was basic, however that is what we expected and wanted in all honesty. The noise however was deafening. We were on a very rowdy floor (the rowdiest perhaps). Because we had travelled for so long, we wanted sleep and decided to postpone going out until the next day and get some sleep that night. However, sleeping is impossible. There is no air-condition, poor 'fans' which make it far to hot to sleep. The floor we were on did not sleep, at all. The noise goes on all night aswell as the banging on every door and this is on top of the noise outside. This was the exact same situation every night of our stay.

The next day we decided to travel around and see what we could do and where to go at night. The beach is quite close - about 10 minutes and absolutely wonderful. The best beach I have been on by far. The restraunts and cafes and shops along the journey to the beach are brilliant and plentiful - chep aswell!

At night we decided to start our 'lad' experience. So we headed for the strip. There is a few bar's along the way but they are not that good. The strip is by no means as close as it is made out. It had to be at least 15 minutes away - 25-30 minutes after you got past the hundreds of PR's and African street sellers and prostitutes. The strip itself is absolutely buzzing and teaming with life, however the smell is revolting. In reality out of the hundreds of bars, there is probably only 6 or 7 good clubs. The best was meant to be BCM, it is massive and has all the stars you want to see - pricey, but hey, what do you expect? I must say that I felt it was overrated, very overcrowded and unenjoyable - except for the water parties. All in all the famous 'strip' was a let down, it can become very boring and repetitative after the first 3 nights.

For alternative entertainment you have quad bike hiring (pricey) and go-karting (very good) aswell as the water park which was o.k. but not the best. You could also go to the hotel pool, which was absolutely massive however I was extremely bemused as to why it went: shallow, deeper, shallow, deep, deeper, even deeper, shallow?

The staff are as most people mention a hit and miss. The day time staff: reception and security, were really nice and welcoming. However the night time staff: reception, security and management were absolutely rude and hated every resident there. Yet, they did nothing of the severity of the noise. They picked on all the meaningless small things and done nothing of the 'big' problems. I know i'm a lad and I love a bit of rowdiness here and there, however not causing absolute mayhem until 7am in the morning and banging doors and walls.

The cleaners, I must say unfortunately, were awful. One of them was nice, however the others - awful. We had our apartment cleaned twice in 7 days and what they did cannot be described as cleaning, it can only be called 're-arranging'. This coupled with the fact it took until 4pm for them to come and took them a good 20 minutes in our room to do nothing, really annoyed me. Changing towels is really hard to do.

All in all, cheap, moderately clean, however if you like sleep - do not go here !!!!
