We stayed for one night and really enjoyed the monastery-like atmosphere. It felt kind of adventurous and special, although being a nun or monk wouldn't be my favourite thing :)

The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, it is really quiet at night and the food is good.

Lluc is great if you want to go hiking, biking, or simply enjoy pure relaxation. There is nothing there, except nature, lots of tourists over the daytime and good Mallorcan food.

The first thing: You must pay for the parking. This is an extra of 4,75 Euro. The whole flat is just basic. When you arrive you have to make the bed yourself. Everything is clean but the beds are creaking because they are as old as the matresses and the monastery. The television is as small as a computer monitor and you can just receive spanish programms. They have something they call botanical garden. This is a joke. The whole garden is full of weed. It was great when I visited the monastery some years ago but it seems that they are not willing to invest any money in rooms or surrounding.

If you want to spend just one night, it is O.K. But nevertheless, the price is to high for that standard.

Last week a group of friends and I stayed at the Lluc Sanctuary as part of a Yoga and Walking Retreat. As we were 4 we chose to stay at one of the 2 bedroom apartments near the shop, one room had a double bed and the other contained 2 bunk beds in a windowless room! My friend and I are mature ladies but thankfully we are pretty agile!
The apartment was filthy! The bed linen was stained, blankets provided we're covered in somebody else's hair-ugh! We chose not to walk on the floor until we had cleaned up. The dining chairs were very badly stained as was the sofa. Although there was a small kitchen area we were unable to cook or even make a cup of tea as there was no crockery, pots, pans or cutlery.
When we expressed our concerns to the Reception staff they were rude and unsympathetic, they wouldn't even come and take a look at the room. His comment was "the accommodation is very sought after by the Spanish!" I seriously doubt whether anybody would have found the standard acceptable.
We can do basic but dirt is inexcusable, needless to say we did not stay a second night and we were refused a refund.
Having said all that we really enjoyed the yoga and hiking in a spectacular setting. The staff in the restaurant were also very pleasant.
Fortunately we have a good sense of humour so we can now laugh about it!
By all means visit the Sanctuary and be amazed by the stunning scenary but I wouldn't recommend you stay!

Welcoming arrival, however was followed in to a lift and forced to play "cat and mouse" with a couple intent on robbing me, Thankfully I evaded them but it cast a nasty overtone on the rest of the trip. As our stay progressed, it was clear that like-minded thieves were walking the floors waiting for tourists - security appeared almost non existent. The door to our room barely fit the frame and I had to hang a blanket over the frame for privacy. The room was basic but clean, small en-suite provided all we needed, especially for the price. We were visited on two occasions by a large number of ants!

Excellent walking in the mountains (well signed), beautiful and peaceful. The church was beautiful and the small museum of artefacts very interesting. There is a nice garden and pool to enjoy also, and ample parking. The café in the courtyard was overpriced although served good coffee and pastries. Whilst we would visit for the day we would unfortunately not stay again.

So glad we ate in the monastery restaurant, excellent friendly service, excellent food, Tumbet....a great veggy dish that my carnivorous husband wanted instead of his own lovely Spanish omelette and salad ,good value, good white wine, other meals we could see looked excellent, so return visit planned, all in lovely surroundings, a huge room, wood stove roaring. 10 put of 10!

Our Church organized a retreat to Lluc February 2013. As we were a largish group we had a variety of rooms. One couple was in the 2 bedded apartment by the little shop. This had a double bed in one room and bunk beds in the other, good sized lounge, small kitchen with full stove & fridge/freezer, but surprisingly no shelf in oven ? Good sized bathroom with 1/2 sized bath, lots of hot water and warm radiators. The rest of the group were housed in the main hotel on the 2nd floor. Again the rooms were really warm eve/night, although as we live on the island we did take duvets for the beds. There was sufficient bedding though. Rooms 210 - 219 are to the rear of the hotel, whilst 200 - 209 are at the front and get more sunshine. These rooms also had a small kitchenette with fridge/freezer. Some had a sofa/spare bed. All had en-suite bathroom. Just remember to take a hair dryer and enjoy a peaceful stay. Not luxury but Lluc is a special place whether you are religious or not.

Room Tip: 200 - 209, poss 300 - 309 ? Front rooms, more sun, small kichen and also 3rd bed available

If you are looking for luxury – an overnight stay here is not for you. If, however, you are looking for comfortable, inexpensive en-suite accommodation in tranquil and uplifting surroundings you can do no better than treating yourself to a night or two at the atmospheric Santuari de Lluc in the Tramuntana Mountains of Mallorca. Choose a junior suite if you want something a little more updated - we were happy with a double room at 48 Euro a night! The restaurant in the Sanctuary - Sa Fonda – is highly recommended for local, quality, value for money breakfast and dinner - choose the suckling pig or the garlic chicken from the dinner menu. They also serve what seems like the largest gin and tonics on the island! There is great food at the Ca s’ Amitger Bar Resturant, which is just outside the walls of the Sanctuary, but it does not the same atmosphere as Sa Fonda. We found LLuc a great base for walking – detailed walk guides are available at the information centre.
