The portions are substantial. My advice would be to forget starters ( or share one) and stick with the good bread, olives and aioli. The highlight here is the home cooked food, particularly good was the rabbit stew, slow cooked shoulder of lamb and the suckling pig. Everything seems to be served with properly sautéed potatoes and either a green veg or salad.
As a bonus it's great value and in a lovely setting.

“A delightfully rustic restaurant tucked away in Fornalutx”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

We enjoyed a simple and splendid lunch here on a warm Sunday afternoon. The dappled terrace tables were full, so we sat inside, which turns out to be where the locals prefer to sit.

With the windows open into spectacular views of the valley, we had no complaints about the setting and it felt like we were let into a secret world as stories, kisses and embraces were exchanged with the owner/patrons as regulars arrived, ate and departed.

The food was simple in conception and very hard to fault in execution. Big hearty plates of simple but bold flavours, aided by high quality locally sourced ingredients. They are lucky here in Fornalutx to be surrounded by the mountains, and yet so close to the sea. So expect suckling pig, rabbit as well as fresh fish and seafood on the menu.

The desserts were all "home-made" and nearly every table received a closing offer of whiskey, sweet wine or liquers.

Prices were agreeable and the service was warm and friendly, although it must be said that at full capacity, staff are stretched.

All in all, a delightful dining experience that felt authentically Mallorcan, at least to this happy tourist. And not a french fry or fish finger in sight...

“Good food, restaurant set in a very pretty village.”
Reviewed April 27, 2014 via mobile

We stopped for typical rustic food on our way to Sòller and were not disappointed. We had paella and squid. It was very good and Fornalutx is so pretty! Service is direct, yet polite. The owner gave us a bag of their home-grown oranges. Delicious!

“No frills local cuisine”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

I have eaten here on a number of occasions for both lunch and dinner. They provide traditional Mallorcan cooking with absolutely no frills or pretentions. Service is friendly and there are nice views from the terrace.
