“Pure hidden luxury in a gorgeous location!”

My sister, my mum and I stayed at La Residencia in March 2012. It is set in the lovely village of Deia, a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of Magaluff. As soon as we arrived we were welcome with open arms and free champagne on the terrace. The room was of exceptional standard, with a very Mediterranean feel to it. The staff are attentive but discreet. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, where the chef even made breakfasts to order for us with freshly squeezed orange juice from the orange trees in Deia. There is a DVD collection for you to use and an iPad for you to use if you wish. Overall very luxurious stay and very relaxing.

Returned for my 4th visit (including my honeymoon) earlier this year so thought it was about time to post a review. Whenever you get chatting you meet folks who keep returning which just shows how good it is. In fact they make a point of making you feel even more special if your visit is a return one.

Service is exceptional but without the staff being all over you and all that who work there do seem to be genuinely interested in making sure you are comfortable and happy. Activity wise the tennis is great thanks to S.T. as is the indoor pool area and Spa. The local walks to the Cala and surrounding hills are spectacular along with most of the northen coast, away from the hordes is the South and East. You get what you pay for and on balance this place is worth it for special occasions.

My one gripe is the drinks - Wine served by the glass is not cheap and for that you would expect at least to be trying something that there has been some effort in sourcing. I find this suprising as the hotel restaurant stocks good local wines as well as your classic Bordeaux etc.
Other than that, be aware that the place is invaded by kids (you know the Alfie & Poppy) types during August.

The best in Mallorca, without a doubt!

My husband and I stayed for a break to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It was impossible to fault the hotel. We were given champagne on arrival and we were made to feel special as soon as we arrived. The staff are discreet but attentive when you need them and the small things they do make the difference e.g sorbet offered to you around the pool and slippers by the bed in the evening. The Spa is delightful and the views fantastic. We stayed in a standard double room in the main building- there was no balcony but the room was lovely. Really sad to leave ...hope we will be able to return one day.

We stayed in a Junior suite in the main house. The bed was very comfortable, bathrooms spotless, two good sized tvs, free wifi. Both the sitting and bedrooms were dark but that is the design of the old house. No balcony.

Breakfast was served on a dedicated terrace overlooking the pool. If you wanted a "cooked" breakfast it was done to order, perfect and the staff were excallent.

The main pool was nice ane quiet (NO MOBILES!) but tended to feel like Gods waiting room. I felt very young!! However for wimps like me I wish the pool was heated....brrrrrr!!

Go into the village for some gerat bars/tappas/restaurants and ther were one or two which should be blown up!

Beautiful setting and easy to visit Palma. We visited Valldemossa one evening as it looked beautiful and very busy during the day. We were lucky as it not only shuts early leaving only a sprinkling of bars open, we could not get a cab anywhere and were lucky to have caught the LAST bus at 8.30!

If f you dare, hire the hotels Vespa!

Nice walks, with or without a Donkey. There are lots of steps around the hotel.

It is pricey but it keeps the riff raff out ( and nearly me!) but there are plenty of places nearby.

Room Tip: If you want a patio or balcony you need to go for a suite away from the main house.

It rained around the end of August - can't blame the hotel for the weather. This was our 5th time to what is becoming a very special place to return. It was actually nice to watch the Spa Grand Prix on BBC1 in the bar as it poured outside. Yes .. great rooms, food, service, village, surrounding mountains and coastline here are a few comments not covered in some of the previous TA reports. if you play tennis don't forget your racquet. La Residencia's resident tennis pro Shane is very good. in an hour he had me playing back to a sensible standard on courts which are wonderful to play on. He has plenty of top equipment if you need to buy from him. We played a lot of tennis this time, enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear pool but never got round to walking in the mountains this time. There is an incredible walk from Valdemossa and another around the ridge both take 1/2 a day and you can book your reasonably priced guide from reception.
On rooms - The Tramuntuna suites are awesome and this time as a family we stayed in adjoining rooms 56 and 57 which overlooked the mountains and village. They were just right, given the weather a bigger TV might have been nice (and the full set of uk channels) Anyway, back to the la Residencia experience, very special, it's the staff who make it so - perfectly hospitable and "just right service".
By the way the rain was very welcome after weeks of sun and heat! ... apparantley

Stayed 3 nights for our 40th wedding anniversary. Standards are by far in excess of most other hotels. Reception, breakfast, poolside and restaurant staff are clearly trained to the highest standards and they all made us feel so special. As mentioned by another reviewer, this comes across as most sincere, which makes all the difference.
We last visited this hotel on our 25th wedding anniversary and we were hoping that the high standards achieved during that visit would be at least the same 15 years later. We can honestly say that staying at La Residencia is an experience which creates a memory to last for years.

We stayed for four nights in on our 25th wedding anniversary.
The extra effort that the staff went to was astonishing.
We had petals scatterd on our bed, flowers and cava on arrival and in our room.
romantic table in the fantastic olivo restaraunt.
All the staff seemed to know our names and they simply could not be more kind and welcoming.
it came accross as sincere, and not just out of the training book.
Ive started to look forward to our next trip.
the area of Mallorca and the Hotel is simply the best i have ever experienced.
