You cannot fault the setting, perfect, the staff, attentive, but you cannot overcome the major limitation, the small kitchen. This year they have returned to modern Mediterranean from tapas, and whilst the product is satisfactory it does not merit the prices charged or come anywhere near the better places in the village. A bigger kitchen and perhaps 'Sebastian at La Res' would change their world for the better!

The bar was rather disappointing: It confirmed our impression of La Residencia being a place which is completely overpriced. Does it also cheat on its guests? That was our impression when we read the “day menu” of the bar in which we found “Sprizz” listed as “Champagne Cocktail with Aperol” priced at 21,50 €. When we wanted to enjoy our sundowner on the terrace in the evening of our 2nd night, we didn’t find either “Sprizz” or “Aperol Sprizz” (which is usually not made with Champagne) on the “evening menu”. However, we asked for it and received a drink which appeared on our guest check as “Aperol Cava” priced at with 21,50 € - same price as the Champagne Cocktail? Isn’t that cheating? Additionally, the staff was rather unfriendly and rude on our 2nd night, which was completely different under Management’s presence the night before. Is that the kind of hospitality which fits to a 5 star hideaway where you expect staff to be those little ghosts who are delighted to make you happy? Last but not least, I had to complain about a dirty, stained and sticky glass. It took far too long to have it replaced – so enjoying a drink together was rather not possible.

This restaurant is part of La Residencia. The menu is tapas, but rather than the relaxed tapas bar atmosphere it tends to a bit formal! Prices of food and wine are at the upper end for tapas. Service is ok, certainly improved on past years. The setting is beautiful, looking down over the village. All in all fine - a special meal rather than a rave up!

We had a lovely meal on the terrace at La Residenca. Mostly hotel guests so it is worth booking. We were ok because we got here early.
A nice treat for a special occasion.
