What a gorgeous and peaceful location. It is easy to understand why Graves lived here and produced such a huge quantity of work. The place is uplifting and inspiring
Watch the video first, explore the house and garden. Easy to spend 2 hours here.
A lovely, lovely visit. Cannot recommend it enough

Very interesting way to spend an hour. Beautiful old house and almost feels as if Robert Graves has just stepped out for a minute. Very very quaint and enjoyable.

Loved the careful way this beautiful place is preserved. The film that starts the visit gives a good impression of Graves’ turbulent life. The house is a unique place. Stunning views. And makes you imagine how his life must have been.

A very special place where it's an absolute privilege being let to wander at one's own pace, unhurried & trusted... no over zealous custodians... a wonderful opportunity to really enter the period, really get to FEEL the presence of Robert Graves & his wife Beryl along with other family members and friends who lived there so long ago. They designed La Casa and LIVED there for so many years and it's so very apparent in its time capsule. Now cared for by warm, dedicated and extremely knowledgeable Anna Maria and the young Juan who is the gardener replacing the lovely Miguel whose presence enriched the experience. Juan is polite, conscientious, helpful, tidy and keen to learn and as time passes will find the spirituality of La Casa that probably needs to develop over years of loving the place. The garden is laid out as originally planned & planted accordingly so that adds to the time capsule feel. You've probably guessed that I truly adore it and wish I lived nearer to absorb the energy and the peace it exudes. You don't need to have read the books of Robert Graves to understand the man (and Beryl), the place and the life. Inspirational. Brilliant!

The visit begins with a video of Graves life. the script was mostly written by Graves and one gets the idea that he led an interesting life which was not marked by modesty. At one point in the video he says that this first wife was a feminist and trouble maker which prompted laughs from the small audience. The garden was beautiful and the house itself was interesting.
