“Very good quality hotel in a friendly village”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

My partner and I stayed here for three nights. Our room had a lot of space and was very clean. The staff was friendly and kind (the receptionists, bar and restaurant people). We took breakfast and dinner and it was a good choice. Enough different foods to choose from and well prepared in the kitchen. Drinks aren't expensive. During our stay we had rent a car. From Colonia Sant Jordi, Palma is about 45 minutes drive. The beaches in Colonia St Jordi are clean and white with clear blue water. Enough bars and restaurants to choose from and also supermarkets and bank within walkable distances. One day we had a problem with our passes and couldn't get into our room, but that was quickly solved by the receptionists. Pool is clean and large enough to swim some lanes.
I strongly recommended this hotel.

Room Tip: Our room at ground level near the restaurant had sun all day through, which was very nice. Downside...

Our room was a bit grubby, tiny bath, cramped bathroom, small, rough, stained bath towels. No fridge in the room. one lady on reception was nice but the others did not even try to be helpful. Dinner is very regimented they have set times for evening meals and want you to sit at the same table every night. We prefer to eat out of the hotel but there isn't a great choice of restaurants in the local area so ended up in the hotel a few nights. They advertise a gym but both the treadmill and stepper were broken, the staff said they had been broken for some time and were not able to say if they would be fixed so that only left an old bike and some weights. There was also no air con, water or towels in the gym. Toilets by the pool were very dirty and ones by reception not great. Have to pay for wifi, safety deposit boxes and to weigh luggage! Local town not very attractive looking if you like an evening stroll or nice restaurants for the evening not the place for you.
Some positives: Pool quite nice and fairly easy to find sun beds, very family friendly hotel, breakfast was nice, easy to get bus to Palma from outside the hotel, close to the beach and a supermarket, restaurant staff friendly.

nice hotel, family oriented, stayed three nights. It is close to the beach and a nice 'mercado' is less than a block away. It is about a 30 minute ride from the airport so one will have to set up transportation in advance of arrival in order to get there. I do not believe there is a hotel shuttle. We also bought the 'meal package ' in which buffet style breakfast and dinner is served. The staff was very accomodating and could understand and speak some English.
There was entertainment every night, but it didn't begin till after the second dinner seating was completed. Waiting till 2200 to start music is kind of strange to me, but if you are there to stay up late and party it won't matter.
The pool was well maintained, but there is no hot tub. The jacuzzi has to be reserved for use. During our stay the jacuzzi water was only lukewarm and the jets did not work. The 'fitness' room looked to be well appointed, tho small for the number of guests the hotel is able to accomodate.
We were unable to see any of the surrounding area during our stay(caves, cathedral, train ride, etc.) transportation to these places was costly and rare on a weekend. We would have arranged tours in advance had we known transportation was going to be a problem.
Stay there again? This was a one time trip for us so....Probably not

Room Tip: if you don't want to be bothered by the sounds of the nightly 'entertainment' (at 2200...

Just returned from an excellent holiday staying at the Isla de Cabrera Apartments. This small family friendy hotel is mainly German and Spanish with very few English, but I have to say this did not in any way make my stay less enjoyable - in fact, quite the opposite, we had great fun with the kids "trying" to order drinks and food in Spanish. The staff were all very polite and friendly and I think they liked the fact we were trying on the Spanish front. The hotel is just around the corner from a beautiful marina and beaches - which are quite busy until quite late in the day, sit back with a drink in one of the many bars which line the marina. The weather was fab, late 30's for the whole week. my children was in the B.E.S.T swim training camp just a short walk away and they loved to come back and relax by the pool. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the pool (fabulous position). The rooms were cleaner daily and were left spotless ! They had evening entertainment, but due to our kids having to get up early in the morning, we didnt see much of this. Food was lovely - something for everyone - fish/meats/childrens section. All in all, excellent hotel which is in an fab location - would definately return to this hotel in the future !

We stayed in the hotel for 10 days. Overall we must say, we would return back, but not in the hotel, rather we woud choose the aparthotel. Firstly we did appreciate the receptionists and staff in general. For breakfast there was quite a selection, but pancakes were the best. Dinner was a bit different. You had to choose from 2 times... first dinner time: 18:00 - 19:45, there were mostly childrens. second dinner time: 20:00 - 21:45. Once a week (Tuesday) there was a special spanish dinner, with ensaimada and etc. After dinner there was kids disco and another program, but we prefered a evening walk, so I can not comment the program.

Room: A bit small, but clean with 2 mirrors, one on the closet, that was a big one, or better say big two, the second one in front of the bed behind the small TV. We gave the sleep quality only one point, because the pillow was flat, really flat and the bed was firm. The balcony was for us alright, some would say small, but who needs a big balcony. Bathroom was clean with 3 mirrors. Air-condition was working the whole day, and it can be turned off (for some people good news)

Beach: You can choose from Dolc, Carbo, Trenc. Every one is wonderful and worth seeing. The nearest is Dolc - 12 min away. Behind Dolc lies Carbo - 45 min away. On the another side of the village lies Trenc - 1 hour away. Water glassclear with many many many many childrens and the sea is very shallow, you can swim after 25 m, good for families with kids

Village: called Colonia de Sant Jordi is a small village, mostly you will hear german, some nice pubs, no night clubs, no night life, every shop closes at 10pm, restaurants at 1am. There are only 3 supermarkets, we recommend, buy everything you need (towels, sun lotion, bug spray, cosmetics, shower gel, etc) in Palma, or pay for everything 20-50% more. Few gift shops, few caffes.

Some notes: There is no billiard, internet cost 1€ for 10 min, you can find there 3 pools and tennis (also table tennis), hotel towels are really nice, in the hotel bar drinks cost cca 5€ each and the bar closes at midnight, best pizza: PIZZA 44 on Avenida Primavera 60, always full

Room Tip: Every is located in the south side, but the rooms with higher numbers (115,215,315) are located more...

Really great value overall. Pool area and kids club is really accessible and with good overview. Overall good for families with younger kids. Only things important to know. They say they have wifi, but this does not work. Also 80% Germans so if you have English speaking kids, the kids club can be a bit of a problem.

One block from lovely beach and port. Staff very friendly. Food excellent both buffet for lunch and dinner. 40 min walk to es trenc beach. Hotel has 3 swimming pools at your disposal. Would def stay again and if you have children the aparthotel would be a good option. Hotel mainly has German guests and staff appear to be tri lingual. Only critisism would be the a/c not as good as it could be.
