We've eaten here in previous identities, with the same current owner. The venue is perfect, the setting is great for people watching along with a fantastic view across the bay & beyond. Nice tables & chairs with colourful parasols which add to the Thai experience.
The menu is under development so food items will be added, Bernard & his team at keen to ensure authenticity of the flavours in the food they produce and they have succeeded so far.
I had veg spring rolls, & shared chicken satay. The spring rolls were fresh & crisp & the veg not soggy at all. They came with 2 dips, sweet & sour, and a sweet chilli dip, both very nice, not tangy at all, my preference was the chilli as I do prefer spice. The consistency of the satay sauce was right, flavoursome with the nuts being the right consistency with the right amount of spice to add a kick. My main was the Duck with red curry. As good as anything I've had anywhere in the past. The duck was nice & crispy on the outside, no soggy fat at all & the meat tender & had that lovely taste of duck. The red curry sauce was sweet, smooth & spicy & the veg contained within was of a nice variety, adding to the flavours. The jasmine rice was nice too, not at all lumpy & fell apart nicely as you put your fork in it.
I would strongly recommend a visit to this venue. Great hosts & well done to the chef who should also get a mention.
