“Very Impressed”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

This was our annual visit to Can Pastilla for a 4 day break before the schools break up. We have visited many hotels in the area including the El Cid. We were very impressed with the room we had - comfy beds, big walk in shower and very modern. The breakfast was good with fresh eggs and bacon cooked on the griddle. The sea view from the pool is stunning and the double sun loungers were a bonus especially for a siesta. The beach is down a set of steps from the pool area - we didn't pay the expensive rates for the sun loungers - it was more cost effective to buy our own umbrella and chair air beds. A courtesy room is available to have a shower before going home. There is a fantastic Spanish restaurant at the side of the hotel which we went to on our last night - wish we had found this on our other visits. Hired a bike for 5 euros for the day and cycled to Arenal and then followed the marked cycle routes. Really fantastic 4 days

Room Tip: We had room 102 which was overlooking the street but there are only another room next to it so it wa...

We have been to Can Pastilla many times & normally stay at the El Cid but as this was a last minute booking (El Cid fully booked) we decided to take a risk with this hotel. On arrival we were checked in very quickly & given the key to our room on the 4th floor with a fantastic view of the pool & the sea. We were a little disappointed with the room but mainly because it was so small but after thinking about it we would be spending most days out & only using the room to shower & sleep in. We had two great nights sleep only to be interupted by the arrival of 2 younger men (in a group of 4, the others were along the corridor), they seem to go between each others rooms shouting & banging on each others doors all through the night. After the 2nd night we spoke to the receptionist & they offered to move us to another room without hesitation, their only worry was that they didn't have another sea room available but at this point we just wanted a good nights sleep. They gave us a room on the same floor but the other side of the corridor, over looking the street. These rooms are much bigger, bigger bedroom, bigger wardrobes, bigger bathrooms & bigger balconies, I wouldn't pay the extra 20 euros a night for a sea room unless you tend to sit on your balcony all day. The food was ok although sometimes not very warm but the waiting staff are all very pleasant & the wine not badly priced. The chef was always cooking fresh fish in the evening. The area itself is lovely, you feel safe & can walk for miles or get the 'train' up to Arenal for 4 euros return. The sun loungers & umbrellas on the beach directly in front of the hotel are quite expensive at 15 euros, we did find cheaper at other beaches on the Island. There are some lovely bars & restaurants along the front but try & catch the live band at the Cuban Bar, they are very good. If you feel up to it hire some bikes & cycle to Palma, you trail the sea all the way & pass some lovely bars & restaurants. This hotel is close to the airport so you do get aircraft noise but after a few days it just becomes background noise. The upside is that you can be on the beach before the people staying in Peurto Pollensa are halfway to their hotel! Finally I think this hotel could be amazing when the refurbishment is complete with just a few tweaks, staff fully trained up, customer care finely tuned & a better choice of menu! Hope you have a good stay.

Room Tip: Don't pay the extra 20 euros for a sea view unless you tend to sit on them all day. They are qui...

came here for a 4 day break with my sisters and we picked this hotel for location from the airport and the positive reviews. It is a lovely hotel the reception staff were friendly as was the bar staff. The rooms have recently been redone to a very high standard as the rest of the hotel. the food is okay, Can Pastilla is a lovely resort, just a charming typical spanish resort a stones throw from the airport with a lovely beach. I do not think i would stay for longer than a week if here though, but if that was the case i would recommend hiring a car to see more of the island.

Arrived 9.15pm to find no-one on Reception. Girl arrived after about 5 minutes, gave us our key card and told us to go down the flight of stairs at the end of the foyer and follow the corridor down to our room which would have a sea view. No-one around to help with cases so my husband struggled down a long flight of stairs with our luggage and we went along a long tunnel-like corridor to our room, which turned out to be over a shop on the main noisy sea front road. The room was not at all like the ones on the website - pretty scruffy, bathroom very dated, standard-size double bed with only one pillow each. We've been travelling abroad for more than 30 years and I've never before complained about a room - even though some have been less than ideal. However this room was such a disappointment that I went back to Reception and asked if a different room was available. The Receptionist told me that there would be nothing until the following day and then if we wanted a better room with a sea view it would cost an extra 20 euro a day! I said I would return in the morning. I duly went back the next morning and this time saw an extremely pleasant and polite young lady who told me that unfortunately no other room would be available until the following day but that she would then have a lovely room for us - no mention this time of any extra payment. So we suffered another night in the drab little room and when I went back the next day we were finally given a different room. What a difference! From the moment we stepped out of the lift it was like a different world. Our room was one of the newly refurbished rooms - stylish and clean with comfortable beds (2 pillows each plus more in the wardrobe), lovely bathroom, fridge, wall-mounted flat screen TV and quiet, efficient air-con. After we had been out for the evening on our first day in the new room we came back to find a bottle of champagne in the room - obviously an apology for the grotty room we had for the first two nights. We were on bed and breakfast basis so don't know what the evening meals were like but we thought the breakfasts were great - eggs cooked to order, proper English sausages most days, beautifully fresh croissants and pastries and plenty of fresh fruit, yogurts etc. There were no pool towels for the first few days but these appeared midway through our 10 day stay. The management is obviously gradually getting its act together and one it's fully refurbished it should be great. Lovely resort, very relaxed atmosphere. May well return.

Room Tip: Make sure you get one of the newly refurbished rooms!

We stayed in this hotel for one night becouse we arrived in midnight and this hotel was close to the airport. It is 10 min drive from airport and cost about 6-7 EUR . In the airport are plenty taxi at night time, The hotel is modern and cozy . The room was nice, but tiny for our family : 2 adults and 2 childs ( teenager and small girl). The receptionist was very helpfull and tried to make check-in as soon as possible. The brakfast was so good: warm and cold dishes, some fruts and cakes. The breakfast is served in the main restaurant and outside near the pool. The beach about 100-200 m from hotel. There are midlesize pool and nice bar. Only one thing : You can hear planes ( close airport) in the morning time. How to solve this porblem: to close window:)
It is realy good hotel for short break or if You decided to travel or more time spend on the beach.

Eleanor & Derek, Nothumberland UK. Stayed at the D'Or Alexandra Hotel, Can Pastilla, Majorca, for the first time 14 May 2012. We enjoyed the food, our room was great (no noise) and the service good, it matches its new 5 star rating since refurbishment. Can Pastilla is a really lovely resort, quiet with some lovely walks and sands excellent. One of the bars in particular "The Highwayman" 200 yards from the hotel foyer is a GB bar owned my Ron and family from Hull, lovely people grand bar and banter. We will return in the future to the Alex and Can Pastilla and the Highwayman.

Room Tip: No.617, on the 6th floor, spacious well furnished apartment with foyer and walk-in shower. Quiet are...
