“Fantastic value for the money”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

We stayed in apartment 16 and it was perfectly ok - it had a view over the pool , was clean ,had a very large bathroom and everything you need is in it - maybe could add a toaster though. The bar was quite cheap and the staff friendly . We didnt eat in the hotel so cant comment on the food and didnt switch the TV on so dont know if any english channels available but surely you dont go on holiday to watch the TV!!. I dont understand some of the negative comments about the hotel as you get what you pay for and its perfectly alright for the money we paid. The entertainment was awful but it just made us laugh. The hotel and resort were very German and for us it was a positive not being surrounded by lots of Brits.

Room Tip: Apartments on the upper floors have a better view than the ones on the ground floor

We stayed half board in sept for 10 days. .The room was ok and had a bath with a shower in it, it would have been nice if the bathroom had proper lights as you are not able to see to have a shave etc. Room service was good in as much as towels were changed daily, but cleaners would not empty ashtrays on balcony and we had to empty ash into a carrier bag and dispose of it in bathroom. We were in room 212 which overlooked a brick wall, there was a bar/restaurant below the wall which had constant deliveries of food/drink all day with delivery lorries leaving their diesel engines running which was very noisy. Coaches were arriving taking/delivering new guests roughly every half hour also leaving their engines running. It was nice to gt home for some peace and quite. Getting a table in the dining room was also difficult and we oftenhad to queue and wait for one to become available. Although the menu read as if there was good choices of food this was not the case. There were hardly any vegetables unless you count potatoe salad, and we had chips every night, no boiled, roast or mash. There was a microwave provided which was desperately needed as the food was always cold. The reception staff were possibly the worst of any hotel we have stayed in. When telling them I had my pocket picked and lost my money credit cards and driving licence, I was asked by a very bored sounding receptionist "what do you want me to do about it" She issued me with a form which we took to the police station only to be told it had to be completed in Spanish and take it back to the hotel, which we did, but again the reception said they could not do it for us. and were unable to get us an interperter. The beach is near to the hotel which is good as the pool is on the small side and not very deep. We had a tv in room but no English speaking channels, but probably not a problem for the hotel as there was only approx. 4 English couples in the hotel. We would not stay at this hotel again.

We stayed on a room only basis 9th - 16th Sept 2013. We did not use the bar or restaurant so cannot comment on the hotels fare. Our room was adequately spacious and pleasantly decorated and furnished, no complaints. (The beds were reasonably comfortable). The flat screen tv did not have any English speaking channels, but that was not a problem for us. The air conditioning unit would only "chill" the room to a minimum temeperature of 21c. That was just about adequate for our stay in September but it would not be cool enough in the heat of the summer (for our taste). Our mini-fridge cost 3 euro a day. The bathroom was very good. There was room to move. There was a very modern toilet and wash basin. The shower cradle was about 2 metres high and the shower head could be detached, so washing the lower bodily areas was easy. However, there was no riser rair or safety hand rail. I get dizzy spells so I found it a little difficult to balance myself with the shower head in one hand and a sponge in the other. There was good water pressure and plenty of hot water. There was a proper shower screen and tray, and I thought the standard was very good. There was ample room on the balcony. The housekeeping was very good indeed with fresh towels every day. There was reasonable soundproofing from our neighbours and I got a good nights sleep every night. In a nutshell, I can't really complain about the room except to say the air conditioning isn't powerful enough for my taste.

The public rooms were all well decorated and clean. The pool was small and crowded at times. It had a maximum depth of 140cm. It was not a pool I could swim in, but the beach is just a short stroll away.

My companion, who smokes, enquired at the desk about smoking policy as there was no ash tray on our balcony. He was practically told off and given a lecture! The only thing missing was the wagging finger! If you are adults you are not allowed to smoke in the privacy of your room or on your balcony, but you are allowed to parade your habit in front of impressionable children around the pool area.

The staff ranged from mechanical to surly to helpful and pleasant. The bottom line is we would come again if we did not want to swim, was outside of the high season and got a good deal!

its a great place to be if you don't want to spend your holiday with a load of brits. you can soak up the atmosphere with people of many different nationalities. we learnt such a lot. its only 5 minutes from the airport and 3.5 minutes from the beach! we went in January but there was a lot to do and it was lovely and warm

Room Tip: get a high floor overlooking the pool. theyre quieter

The hotel is close to the airport (not noisy) almost right on the beach, it's 3 star hotel, but some things could be bether.
When we arrived, it was 12am, and you could smell the dust, and under the bed there was...
We were annoyed a few times, because every time we would come from the beach, (3.00 pm) the cleaning lady would suddenly appear at our door, and we would just exchange towels and garbage.
The room had a view on the beach, hotel's music was not loud, the flights end before 12am, and the music was over before 12am , so we could have a good sleep.

The restaurant had pretty good food, but somthimes we had to wait until we could find the table, and 2 times we seated on the table which was already "taken" but without visible marks, so we had a few fights. So they should do somthing about the organization of dinner, breakfast.
The stuff in the kitchen was really hard working, but the management should do somthing to improve shortcomings.

If you are going to the Majorca capital city, then take a bus 25, (1.5 e) it's the fastest (has a few stops) and it takes passengers near the hotel.

As far as we noticed, the hotel was safe from theft, but we kept all valuable stuff with us.

Chose this hotel because of its location to the airport, although their was no aeroplane disturbance as the flight path was in the other direction. We had been to a wedding in the north of the island so wanted a hotel close to the airport for our last night on Majorca. What a lovely hotel, around a hundred yards (one row of buildings back) to the beautiful spacious beach. The hotel was ideal, our room had tastefully been refurbished in a modern style, although it faced the road which was a bit noisey with the balcony windows open but the excellent double glazing did the trick for a peaceful nights sleep. My sons room was of the old style overlooking the pool, equally as nice with its dark wood furniture. We were on a half board basis and the food was buffet plentiful and very good, we certainly found something for everyones taste....suckling pig was fabulous. Childrens club activites for a short while in the afternoon. A good pool with proactive, friendly life guard. Absolutely spot on for our one night/day stay, would certainly go back happilly for a week. If you have a car there is plenty of parking in the street outside the hotel.

Room Tip: At the moment rooms are more modern overlooking the main road to the airport, but not suitable for b...

We wanted a week in the sun not too far from the airport having stayed at the four star el CID in can pastilla previously we knew the town was 10 mins taxi from airport . The beach is beautiful and safe for children to play. The town is small but plenty of Spanish bars. This is not a place if you want British pubs. It is more cosmopolitan and small and friendly. We chose the helios hotel as it fitted in our price range we had originally booked thb felipe in porto cristo but read bad reports and changed to this hotel instead we have not been disappointed. Our room on the 5 th floor has views of the pool , side sea view and mountain view. Yes being so close to the airport you hear the planes but it is not intrusive. We normally stay 4 star the helios is 3 star but we feel it is a good one. Breakfast has plenty of choice and even cava, some of the four stars do not offer this. We are staying half board and the evening meal also has enough choice. The dining room does get very busy but we have not had to que as yet by arriving at breakfast for 9 and evening meal for 10. The rooms are basic but clean and the bathroom is small with just a shower. It is adequate for time spent in the room. The only disappointment we have had is our first 2 days were massive thunderstorms and rain! But we are now lying around the lovely well kept pool and gardens enjoying the Spanish heat. Bikes can be hired all around the resort and well worth doing as you can cycle as far as Palma stopping at some lovely Spanish bars on the way and back. All in al would definitely recommend this hotel and the resort if you like typical Spain not too commercialised.

Room Tip: 5th floor pool facing means no one above you and great views.
