“Lovely quiet break”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

Just got back from a 3 night minimoon stay and had a lovely time.
I must say I was slightly worried about going as I haven’t done this type of holiday in a while – tending to stay in city centers and big chain hotels. However I was very pleasantly surprised.
We were greeted by really friendly receptionist who was aware we’d just married and congratulated us. Our room was basic but very clean and the bathroom fittings were good. We also had a lovely view.
The food was plentiful and fresh. The veggie options were very limited (there tended to be a lot of tuna added to what initially appeared to be a veggie option) but there was always an abundance of salads, breads and chips if there were nothing else.
I found the staff friendly and helpful.
The hotel is small so the pool area can get crowded and you do sometimes need to queue to get in for dinner but this did no bother us.
The small beach down the hill is beautiful and we also went for a nice walk to Portal Nous which was enjoyable.
The hotel is in a very quiet area which is exactly what we wanted but its not for you if you want more nightlife / action unless you are happy with taxis / buses. We just wanted somewhere quiet and relaxing and it fitted the bill perfectly.
As with a lot of Spanish hotels the ‘double’ rooms are twin beds close together so this may both some, but we suspected this may have been the case so we weren't overly upset.
Would happily return.

Just returned from a week, enjoy all aspects of the hotel. Food, staff and room all excellent, would certainly return. Location was good with a bus service to Palma or Magulf frequently.
The beach which is located a short walk from the hotel is beautiful.....very steep hill on the way back however, you can take a slightly longer route to return which is easier.

Room Tip: all rooms over looking the pool are the best

just returned from a 4 day break at this hotel, we got exactly what we asked for off our travel agent... a quick transfer from the airport (20 mins) and some where we could chill out for a few days and still enjoy the night life of palmanova/magaluf. We got there late at night and welcomed by the(male) receptionist in a friendly manner booked us in and after we made enquires of where to go for something to eat showed us our way. In the morning woke to a lovely seaview on our large terrance and went down for breakfast abit of a mish mash of seating arrangements and waiting for tables and staff a bit dizzy at times but all in all food was very good. we went half board , pool area very clean and also life guard on hand in the day. beach on too far very clean (7 min walk down hill). the actual resort Portal Nous is small and quiet not too many bars but still good enough . If you want more lively form of entertainment get the 104/ 107 and they will take you straight to either palma city or palmanova /magaluf and the bus stop is down the road from the hotel. only down side is the hills and there are lots but we would come back here again.

Room Tip: ask for a sea view room and also on the 1st floor bigger Terrence

Nice hotel that's has been well refurbished. Food in general has been very good except snacks after lunch is very limited. Rooms are well decorated but let down by nearly zero storage and several bad maintained utilities. The shower and tap heads sprayed everywhere except the sink and the air on struggles to pull the temperature down. We found the when the restaurant was full they had no organised system of waiting to be seated and we saw them closing the door on guests and not explaining why. This caused confusion and annoyance as guests did not know what was going on. The staff seemed always unapproachable, miserable and vague. Everything seemed like hard work for them. The coffee machine is situated in the restaurant and you felt like you were intruding if they were in there setting up between meals. On arrival late at night we could not get access to water and were told it was 2 euros. Not a good welcome we thought. It is a shame as these are just customer service issues that can be easily addressed. We are a couple in our mid thirties and feel we only wanted to be treated as we would treat customers of ours.

Know now as just the Costa Portals, this hotel is in an amazing location that is Portals Nous. 5 mins stroll down a steep hill to a beautiful cove and great beach, walking distance to the port (15mins). We loved the area however for 90euro per night I wouldn't be looking to go back.
The rooms are clean, we had room 120 with a large balcony over looking the pool which was great, but the beds and pillows are terrible, the aircon - not great. Breakfast okay , no fresh juice and terrible coffee, everything else plentiful, we we're glad we only went B&B. The hotel is clean, pool good, but the sun beds do get booked up early am, you need tobe lucky!
I imagine its the area your paying for, perhaps hard to find anything better in this price range but we will try if we return.

Used again A2B transfers great service 20 mins from the airport great long weekend option.

As said in previous reviews hotel is veryclean in a very good area, nice relaxing pool with plenty of sunbeds.we arrived late at night & was given a very small room facing the road & immediately went back to reception to complain, the man on the desk said to come back in the morning which I did & was given a triple room on the side of the hotel which was hugh. The food was fine, different menu everyday, bar drinks were fine BUT the bar staff were the most miserable people we have met, sometimes ignoring you for 3-4 mins(although it seems the owner arrived on the last 2 days & they changed to happy smily people)The marina is beautiful, well worth a visit as is Harry's bar in the village it does the most amazing cocktail's .I would go back to this hotel as it suited us

Room Tip: try to get a sea view room

Myself and my friend stayed at Costa Portals for 3 nights. We are both mothers and wanted somewhere to relax for a few days, but in a location that was accessible to some night life and I feel this is what we got.

First impressions of the Hotel were excellent! Very bright, clean and modern. The guy on reception was friendly, helpful and welcoming.

When we arrived, it was just before lunch, we put our bags in our room and went to find something to eat. We were all inclusive and on the details of what was included in the all inclusive, it stated snacks between 12.00 - 1.00, we assumed this meant snack bar (chips, burgers etc) however we were pointed in the direction of the dining room where we were greeted with a very grim looking salad bar, where the meat looked like it had seen better days! We decided to wait for lunch. Lunch again was buffet style. The food was ok and you could always find something, which was mainly chips and a bread bun, which is fine for lunch. Dinner was very similar and you could always find something. There was loads of choice, however I would stay away from the chicken! There was a desert every night and fresh fruit, the cherry's were amazing! Overall I would say the food is typical of what you would expect from a 3 star Spanish Hotel.

The pool area is lovely and the sun beds are very comfortable. The hotel is on a very steep hill which meant the view from the pool was amazing and looked over onto the sea. There wasn't many people around the pool when we arrived which was great and it felt very relaxing.

Our room was lovely, again very clean and we had an amazing view that looked onto the sea and pool. The rooms are air conditioned which was a life saver however on the last night, it decided not to work! The hotel has wifi, however you do have to pay for this. It was 8 euros for 3 days, the wifi was accessible from all areas of the hotel and was worth 8 euros.

The location is great! You are within walking distance of the posh Marina Portals which has some beautiful restaurants and bars. I would recommend Harbour Lights, it is reasonably priced for drinks and had an excellent atmosphere. The other bars in that area are extremely expensive and around 19 euros for 3 small bottles of beer! Palma Nova is 5 euros in a taxi and Palma is around 20 euros. There is a bus stop in the village, however our preferred mode of transport was taxi!

There is a lovely beach at the bottom of the hill and you can follow the coastal path around the beach which takes you to a lovely beach bar called Roxy's, which has an Ibiza feel to it. Lovely little place! The only problem is, is the hill back up to the Hotel. It is extremely steep and is a real struggle, especially in the heat! I have never seen a hill like it!

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thought the hotel was excellent value for money. I would definitely stay here again, however I would probably go room only as the food could have been better and I enjoy eating out in different places.
