Have just returned from a first time visit to Mallorca staying at the newly opened Od Port Portals Hotel.
The four star hotel is very much finished and open for business. We stayed in a sea view room with balcony which was light and inviting with modern furnishings. The room is very design led and has a separate toilet area, bathroom and shower with window looking out to the sea. I personally wasn't too keen on this arrangement, but I can see how it fits with hotel's design led style. Some traffic noise should be expected for guests staying in the front facing bedrooms and some overhead noise could be heard from other guests in the room above due to the hotel rooms having tiled floors (ladies heels mostly).
The public areas of the hotel are modern in style and design and the hotel has a fantastic bar and restaurant, providing a mix of Asian and European influenced dishes including some Mallorca specialities at very reasonable prices compared to the expensive restaurants in the nearby marina - approximately a ten minute walk away. The bar too was competitively priced with beer around €4 and a cocktail €8. In June, I understand that a further bar, the sky bar, will open on the roof top of the hotel. This has already been fitted out with Astro turf and sun loungers. Further sun lounger are available around the pool area and adjoining landscaped sun terrace. For the size of the hotel, I wouldn't say the pool area was huge, but then again I think a lot of guests will use the hotel as a nice base to explore the island. Fore those guests staying in the suites, a hire car is included. We used local public transport to get out and about. The nearest bus stop with an express bus that goes into Palma (approx 20 mins by bus) stops on the roundabout opposite the hotel.
Staying during the first week of opening, we were probably one of a few paying guests. Many of the other guests seemed to be journalists and influencers reviewing the hotel and photo shoot crews. All of the staff were very personable and friendly with many of the staff headhunted by the Hotel Director Maria, who was very welcoming and was keen to ensure we had an enjoyable stay.
I would definitely return to Mallorca and to the Od Port hotel.
