Reviewed July 24, 2013

Just returned from a weeks holiday at club cala Romani really enjoyed it. Great for kids food lovely something for everyone, clean rooms and hotel only down side rooms need air con as its 36 degrees. Hotel out of way buses fun frequently but did hire a car out for the day drive to the mountains beautiful views would advice hire of a car as transfer time 2 hours and taxies expensive.

If you're after a child friendly hotel this is for you. The hotel was extremely busy during the first week of July but there was lots going on for the kids during the day, including entertainment in the evening.
The staff were friendly and work hard to try and keep everyone occupied.
The All Inclusive is invaluable if you have children, with drinks and ice cream available all day and it's needed I can assure you.
Beer was San Miguel which was fair, but again it's in plastic cups, and the spirits are all local if you can drink those.
Rooms were fine. Food was repetitive but reasonable and there was snacks available most of the day.
Yes you have the 6am flock who lay their towels on the sunbeds before disappearing but if you come down at 9am there are still beds available.
3 pools, including one for the smaller children.
There is a water slide available during the day for which you pay 5 euros for them to play on all day if they wish. In the evening there is a Bouncy Castle and a slide for a couple of euros, and the water ball which costs 5 euros.
There is also a lounge if you want peace for a quiet drink.
With the All Inclusive comes the regular queueing for drinks though.
Only problem IS NOT THE HOTEL, BUT the 4 HOUR (no exaggeration) journey from the airport. Watch the 'shared shuttle'. We were the 11th drop off by a driver who was obviously lost and ended up asking the locals for directions. This is just a 45 minute car journey from the airport.
5 minutes from the hotel is a shopping centre which has pubs, shops, and for the kids, there is a small carnival, including dodgems etc. and another area which includes go karts, zip line etc.
The local tourist train passes virtually every hour if you want to see around the resort.
The beach is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel and is definitely worth the visit.
All in all worth a visit if you have children.

Room Tip: The tallest building in the hotel is only 4 floors and there are 4 lifts.

Just returned from Club Cala Romani we were not impressed at all there is no air con in the rooms at all just a fan which makes no difference. No fridges in rooms either. Rooms are very very basic and cramped. Food is extremely greasy oil put in everything causing upset stomach. If you go to this hotel yes there are a lot of things but you will pay extra for it they charge 1 euro for a bottle of water which you can fill up. Ping pong tables you will have to buy your own bats and balls to use the table and you wil have to pay to hire any sports court and anything extra for the kids such as there is a bouncy castle slide but you will pay 5 euro to use it. Communial areas pool etc are clean and kept clean but the fact that there is no air con in the rooms and the food is so damn greasy we would not return here. We have travelled all over in 3 and 4 star hotels but I would not class this as a 3 star as advertised purely due to there being no air con and the greasyness of the food. We will not return again to this hotel. Calles De Mallorca however is a nice town hotels are a short walking distance from shops and bars and a mini fair area for the children with mini golf etc.

Room Tip: Rooms have no air con or fridges you will pay for all extra activities ie ping pong tennis etc

The hotel is generally nice, pools are very nice although a lack of sunbeds, particularly towards the end of our holiday which was approaching peak season (11-22 July). We left on the 22nd at 6am and there was already people up putting their towels down - get a life!

It is very crowded, apart from sunbed issue the restaurant was frantic and queued out the door at times - later is usually a wee bit better. We have 2 small children so its a case of getting them at a table and then going back and forth with food which is not really "relaxing holiday time".
The snack room was very nice, air con and rolls etc were fine for eg a late breakfast.

Food was a bit samey, but not terrible. Drinks: all inclusive = 2 drinks max per person and a lager is quarter pint cup. Spirits were healthy measures (or maybe not depending on how you look at it!) but I thought were getting smaller as hotel got busier.

Good mix of soft drinks available on tap. Slush puppy machines too (but out of order 50% of the time). Wine in restaurant also on tap.
Its a family focused resort no question, never actually saw anyone drunk/rowdy (maybe not surprisingly given measures) so that is a bonus when your with kids.

Rooms are very warm, ceiling fan is an ornament only. Our room was back end of hotel, top floor facing west. A bit out the way but nice view and lovely sunset. Towels changed daily and beds made, bin not emptied once and I don't think they mopped either.

Safety deposit box is 15euro for 7-12 days + a 3 euro deposit that we didn't get back as I didn't have receipt (even though he acknowledged he had a copy (??) its only 3 euro but the principal of it really annoyed me - why bother aggravating your customers (who have spent over 1K on hotel alone) for 3 Euro?!.

In general they are very money hungry and it comes across. If you have kids you will spend money (even all inclusive). I'm sure even Cinderella's mum would have gave her a shot of the bouncy castle just once...

Entertainment staff/ bar staff are generally excellent. They do seem to work 14/7 and always have a smile and a hello for you.

Transfers are very long (2-2.5 hrs) but, obviously not the hotels fault so not included in score. We didn't go a direct route (went through cala d'or), which I think is standard.

A few more negatives than positives but mainly small enough not to affect our holiday terribly.

Room Tip: Back end of "Tomir" block is further away to be convenient for constant nipping back to ro...

We went to the Romani for the 3rd time and could not fault anything. The staff are fantastic, we really enjoyed the pool in particular, our room was fabulous and again had a great holiday.
They handle a high volume of people so easily I can't praise them enough. we will be back next year.
Even though we have no children the enteraintment staff appear to be terrific with the children and we were never bothered by screaming kids at any time.
I would even say that the entertainment in the hall has got better over the years we have been attending.
Would love to tell you to go but I'm not going to we want to keep it a secret shhhh...

Room Tip: Been in a few different rooms now can only suggest the higher the better

I was there for a week that was long enough room was small and noisy. We had no sleep far to hot and no air con. As for the food if you have no taste buds you will be fine. the staff was friendly and it was clean but i would not go back. buttlins in the sun.

I went to Club Cala Romani with a group of my girlfriends ages between 22-23. Four of us in total. We found it was brilliant for what we paid for. We wanted a holiday which was a quiet area and we could do nothing for a week. And that's what we got. The transfer was two hours but it passed quickly. It didn't bother us in the slightest. All the staff were friendly, more than happy to help. Our room was cleaned every day and towels changed every other day. The pool was big, sometimes struggled to find a sunbed if you came down late on, but in the morning it was no problem. The beach was a 10minute walk away, it's a lovely little beach. The food was fine. Like the other reviews it wasn't 5* but its what you pay for. Mostly English selection. Always enough to choose from. The town was literally down the road if you wanted to eat out. All in all, we had a very relaxing week away and didn't have any problems at all! Would defiantly come again!
