“Everyone should have Pippin Hill Therapy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012 via mobile

A wonderful place to meet friends or hang out with your family. Wine tasting available or buy by the bottle or glass. Big deep porch with lots of cozy seating areas is what we like. Cavernous inside not as cozy. On a hillside overlooking blue ridge mountains, pretty valley and vineyard. Easy 20 minute drive south of Charlottesville. Afternoon hours only, I believe, so check before going. Nice flat grassy areas for small kids to run around. Pet friendly on leash. Visited by people of all ages. A regular spot for a girls afternoon for us, but could be a romantic or family spot or a special place for a celebration. Attentive waitstaff, good food/wine,Wonderful atmosphere. It will become one of your favorite spots too!

“A Taste of the VA Wine Country”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

We visited the Pipping Hill Winery on 8/18/12 and we were impressed by the layout of the winery tasting area & lounging/serving area. You may dine or drink your beverage on a huge outdoor covered poarch or inside the winery's dining area. The view of the hill side and surrounding area is great!

The tasting is priced in three seperate $ 5.00 selections for White, Blends & Reds, which is a bit different than other area winerys. We had the White & Blends and enjoyed a bottle later on the poarch. I would recommend a visit if you're in the area, by the way the food looked interesting as well.

“Fantastic escape!!!”

We enjoyed wine tasting in an idyllic setting! Unique food offerings and a relaxing area. Plan to come early if you are traveling in peak times (weekends and summer). As the outdoor spaces get snatched up quickly!

“Not a relaxing Sunday afternoon... No outside food... Really?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2012

We were enjoying the Virginia winery tours on a Sunday afternoon. Thought we'd save the best for last with a little music and views....buy a little wine... brought a little cheese...

We got to the parking lot and saw the sign... NO OUTSIDE FOOD. Really? We're buying the wine.. now we have to buy overpriced food too?

We walked over to the building and the electric amplified band was blasting under the outside porch, we couldn't even talk to the waitress it was so loud. Wait staff running around like crazy. So much for relaxing.

We didn't buy the wine or the food and got out before we lost our eardrums.
View? Who cares when there was so much wrong with the atmosphere.

We'll never go back....too many snooty people wanting to be seen and spend a lot of money for nothing.
