“Short holiday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

Stayed for a week to relax and recharge batteries. The Hotel is in a lovely location at Cala Egos just a few miles outside Cala D'or. The food is plentiful and varied and even as a plain and picky eater I always found something to eat, ranging from chicken and Yorkshire pudding to pasta, salads, and a wide range of vegetarian food. For the kids there was a separate buffet area. The only downside to the Hotel was the small pool area which is shared with its sister Hotel Corfu. The usual towel reserving sun bed brigade rules the day so expect to join in or do as we did and go to the other side of the beach up the steps to find a bed in hotel Corfu grounds. I have to say the beds were so close around the pool it was unhealthy it reminded me of an Ants nest. The beach is great but you will have to pay for a sun bed. Swimming in the pool was impossible with too many children with inflatables and playing ball games, and although the Sea was great when you got out of your depth getting there meant wading through water full of plastic-bags,paper,polystyrene and some other undesirable man made items. That aside the Hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful although the bedroom walls are so thin you will soon become familiar with the neighbours and their sleeping habits and snoring. We made good use of the chill-out area which surprisingly was never busy and a loverly area to relax.

Room Tip: Sea view third or fourth floor overlooking the chill out area away from the busy stairs and corridor...

Booked this holiday about 3 months ago to share the annual family holiday with a close family friends who we met on previous holiday.

Bought through late. Whilst more than I would have splashed out for size of accommodation the family did enjoy it. On arrival the reception staff were helpful and replaced a small infant bed for a larger youth bed within minutes of arrival. Roome tidy with a/c but as with other comments desperately tight with little sound proofing but you expect that on package holidays. The maid Julie was first class a kept a tidy roome despite a messy teen and an equally untidy young boy.

Plenty for the kids and adults to do with the hotel animation team. Particular mention for the Belgian version of Ant and Dec, Jan and Alex aka another name which is a private joke amongst the party. They along with BoBo, Paulina and Ade kept us all amused. the 2 week break was just what we needed. The rush for beds in the morning and the military precision required to secure the beds was a challenge, but allowed me the opportunity to go and explore in the 45 mins (8am-0845) before returning to put of beds which are chained up.

As has been said the pool is extremely tight for the size and volume of residents berthed at the 2 sister hotels (Corfu). That being said the location of the beach was perfect and allowed for use of both watering holes.

Talking of watering holes the barstaff at the poolside bar of Alfonso and his staff in particular Justina, Hanna, Max and Loui was excellent.

The food both inside and out was to be expected on any all inclusive holiday. It filled a hole and offered what was needed to get by.

Having experienced similar hotels previously I would say it more than deserves the 3 stars however if they ever managed to do something with the pool could easily stretch to a 4 star rating.

The Cala Dor walk was good and tired the kids out. The Marina in Cala Dor was amazing and allowed you some escapism in just for a minute believing it could be you. Dream over!

Anyhow thanks to all the team at the hotel for making it a pleasant trip. Would I return again absolutely.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor and didn't have any issues with the view or noise but I imagine durin...

Booked this as a very last minute break (arranged flights with Monarch and organised transfers with resorthoppa) and chose the hotel due to reviews here and the beautiful bay the hotel was located on. We expected a stereo-typical English all inclusive and indeed that is what it was. Food not what we would choose (fried onion rings at breakfast?!) but for a cheap and cheerful break it ticked the boxes. We were there three nights and only ate dinner there once as there was genuinely nothing that appealed but for families, I'm sure you could manage - the other two nights we walked into the town for a few drinks and then got a cab down to the marina and ate there. The breakfast was the best part as there was something for everyone and we grabbed a "croque monsieur" (don't be fooled - its a ham and cheese toastie!) from the pool bar as a late lunch.

Very family friendly, always something going on for the kids, but the pool heaving. I will never understand this obsession with people going out at ridiculous o'clock to put towels out (you're on holiday - relax!) but as the kids seemed to be concentrated round the pool, we wouldn't choose to be there anyway. I should imagine there wouldn't be a hope of getting a bed there by 9am. We were able to rent sun loungers easily enough for five euro each day on the beach. During the afternoon, we would walk round the bay and lounge about on the cliffs watching people jump off (joining in when brave enough) and generally soaking up the sun and looking at the beautiful bay. Unfortunately, people there didn't seem that concerned about littering into the sea so a few signs and bins wouldn't go amiss to remind people to dispose of their rubbish elsewhere.

Drinks freely available and staff fine.

I wouldn't return purely as we don't have children and don't like going to the same place twice, but for what we paid and wanted, it was fine. Its a good 3 star and if you want better, pay more!

I really couldnt fault this hotel and would say overall our experience was 10/10! But we are easily pleased. People complaining about trivial things obviously arent!

The food was good, although after 2 weeks I had had enough of it (this was not the fault of the hotel, just I had overeaten!). Over the two weeks I would say they had a very good selection of food with something for everyone. In the evening they have a separate counter which children can go to and choose their food. If you have young babies with you , they have pots of fromage frais at this counter so we would nab a few each day. The only downside was the desserts were not that varied but generally what they had was nice.

The staff were fantastic - especially the entertainment team. How they work such long hours and remain so friendly and happy about it I do not know. I could tell they genuinely liked their jobs. People at reception were slightly colder but nothing was too much trouble for them. If you are going out for the day let them know before 7pm the night before and they will do you a picnic.

As I was there for two weeks with four of us I had lots of washing. I found out the Marina Corfu had washing machines for guests so I took a load over there and it cost just 4 euros including powder.

The surrounding area was beautiful. If you are not sure whether to book a sea view then I would highly recommend that you do- otherwise you will be overlooking a road, not quite the same!

The rooms were very clean and tidy and yes you could hear everything but that's just a fact of going on holiday! My kids slept through it and I took my earplugs. We were usually out until 11pm/midnight anyway.

The downside is that you have to bag your sunbed very early which is annoying but to be honest Ive never stayed in a hotel where this doesnt happen so you just have to deal with it. My children had me awake at 7am most days anyway so popping down to the pool was not really a problem.

I thought the hotel was in Cala D'or itself, this is not the case which I was glad about because it was such a stunning area plus when I went into Cala D'or one evening it was way too busy so I would stay here out of choice next time.

Would definitely go back.

Just returned from 7 days here. Kids 6 months, 3 and 7. Would have been so much better if my 3yr old could have went to kids club with 4-8yrs as she was kind of lost when the other kids went off to do stuff! (She didn't want to go to mini club for ages 3-4!) Steps down to beach and down to pool areas, so not ideal for buggies/wheelchairs, but there is a longer way u can go if u can be bothered. My husband and I usually just lifted buggy up/down steps. Also did this from restaurant level to reception as lift exceptionally slow! Thankfully were on first floor! Food was the usual sort of guff u get in Spanish hotels. Breakfasts OK, lunch and dinner not that great. Ate out twice but defeats purpose of ai. Poolside bar snacks not great either. Not a fussy eater but if I don't like the look of something I ain't going to eat it. Kids didn't like food either. My husband who is really not fussy didn't like much either lol but hey ho suppose the Spanish wouldn't like our food! Rooms clean but you can hear everything! Pools clean. Lovely beach but preferred sunlounger at pool. As a prev review states u do have to get up @6 to get towel on chair then u have to go back to wait for loungers to be unchained at about half 8. Entertainment OK, usual holiday stuff. We left luggage in a room at reception after check out as had evening flight. After lounging at pool all day were given a courtesy room to change and shower.
Staff are friendly and courteous. Overall, would go back as great for kids

There is nothing to fault about this hotel. Most rooms have sea views. Only metres from the beautiful cove that is great for snorkelling. The food was fantastic, plenty of choice everyday with something for everyone even vegetarian options. We were all inclusive which is definitely the best option. Hotel shares all facilities with the Marina Corfu but is the quieter option of the two. Plenty of area to sit and relax. Bar closes at midnight. Wifi cost are 5 euro per day or 15 for week. Short walk to shops and bars. Great staff, always cleaning. Entertainment is primarily geared towards families but there were some good shows. All in all a great holiday and we will return in Sept

Room Tip: Rooms 21-24 on each floor ie 121,221 have the best views and are quieter than lower numbers

had 3 nights here in July. Great, loved the location, very clean, great staff, very well made(fixtures and fittings ) food very good with lots of choice. Would gladly recommend this hotel. Beach at the bottom of the hotel stairs. What more could you ask for. Thanks for a great stay and I am looking to return soon.

Room Tip: 327 was a good room of two adults over looking the beautiful bay
