Ca'n Trompe is located in the busy and vibrant pedestrianised centre of Cala D'Or and is one of the few restaurants in the centre serving reasonably authentic Spanish / Mallorquin dishes. We first visited Trompe last year and thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and general ambience of the place, so decided to check it out again this year. The menu appears to be the same, and there was was plenty to choose from. A word of warning though, don't expect burgers etc, so check the menu thoroughly especially if you have children with you. Our two thirteen year olds voted Trompe their favourite place in Cala D'Or, and that from two lads who are usually very happy with pizza, ribs and a burger, so to me that's a good recommendation. The pork loin with tumbet (stir fried veg like peppers, onions and potato) was my wife's choice, whilst I tried a local specialty, the Frito Mallorquin which is thin strips of liver with veg and onions in a gravy. Thoroughly nice if rather filling.
Trompe isn't the cheapest place in the area, but it is far from the most expensive. I'd describe it as good value for the quality you get. Good local wine according to the wife, whilst the draught beer was cold but bland.
No Wi-fi though.
