“Brilliant holiday”

Felt compelled to write review as according to husband best holiday ever. What made holiday enjoyable was first and foremost NATALIE, in charge of entertainment. What an asset to hotel !! nobody had a bad word to say about her and I can understand why. Always made time for everyone, whether or not you were taking part in games. Absolutely brilliant at making people feel comfortable.
Hotel itself clean, staff friendly, food of good standard with plenty of variety. The only negative if you can call it that is the amount of hanging space in wardrobe due to a large safe which takes up a significant amount of room. Pool area clean and chairs of a good quality. Came home and booked the following day for next year.

My wife and I stayed 10 nights at the Bonamar between 24th August and 3nd September and enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing break. This might not have been one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in but it is certainly one of the most laid-back. All the staff we met were friendly and efficient and they obviously take great pride in their hotel as it is as clean as anywhere I've ever stayed.
The rooms are small but adequate and scrupulously cleaned every day. The food was particularly good and we never felt the need to break out for an evening meal (I generally get fed up with hotel food in about a week)!
Being quite late in the season, we never had any difficulty in getting a sun bed by the pool and in fact had the same spot every day and - believe me - I don't get up early to put towels out.
Although we never participated in any of the irrepressible Natalie's daily competitions we did enjoy the evening entertainment and her rendition of Valarie (re-dubbed Natalieee) will long live in the memory (and I thought all Welsh folk could sing?).
We were surprised that the hotel didn't bother to try to restrict guests in bringing food into the pool area from outside and good on them for that, we made good use of the excellent sandwiches provided by the lovely couple who run the Spar shop just up the road from the hotel. We also had a smashing lunch at Stanley's Tea Room on a wet day (we had a couple of those unfortunately).
All things considered this was a thoroughly relaxing, good value for money break and we are thinking about going back next year.

Room Tip: Partial sea view rooms are quite adequate.

We stayed a week in the Bonamar in August. Great resort....bars, shops and beach etc a few minutes walk. The hotel was lovely, very clean and friendly. The rooms were a little small but you only sleep in them don't you. Maybe a few more plug sockets would have been helpful? Pool area is lovely, we never had a problem getting a sun bed. Natalie was an absolute delight.....and made everyone feel welcome. We joined in the daily quiz and the water volleyball...great fun! Evening entertainment was good what we saw....but we often went for a wander in the evenings, Cala Bona is lovely....down by the harbour....great for people watching....with a nice jug of sangria! Probably wouldn't go back to the bonamar....as its nice to try different places....but Cala Bona and Cala Millor...yes...would go back.

Got back from our hols on 6th September, stayed at the bonamar for 11 nights and had such a relaxing time. The food was excellent so much choice, the room was clean and Natalie and Lauren were so good at their job. Only thing to criticise was that some men wore 3/4 length trousers when stated as you go into the restaurant that full length trousers were only allowed and they were never told. The chef's were always out checking the food and were always friendly especially Javi. The Staff are excellent and helpful. No trouble in getting a sunbed.People say about the rooms being small who cares when you only sleep init. Natalie you did a great job thankyou!!! Would go back again.

My husband and I stayed at the Bonamar between the 13th and 20th August. first the Hotel: lovely staff, very clean, very cheap to buy drinks and the food was surprisingly good. However!!!!! the rooms were tiny, my husband and I were falling over each other when trying to get ready in the evening. The pool area was tiny with as many sunbed squashed into one area as they could possibly get without the guests lying on top of each other. There were some parts of the pool where the sunbeds were not so tightly packed in but unless you were an Olympic athlete with the towel in the mornings you were not getting one of those! And then every afternoon you were treated to the smell of drains wafting over!
As this does seem to be a popular hotel the guests all seemed to 'know' one another and at times we felt like a gatecrasher at a private party; they would all congregate for a chat in the afternoon on one side of the pool while volleyball was going on in the other; result - no room to swim!!! Oh and a word to the entertainment team - all guests should be made to feel welcome not just the ones who want to spend their days playing 'killer darts'

Now for the resort: one word 'awful' - if you like Blackpool with sun this resort is for you. It was full of English bars and not much else in the way of Spanish atmosphere.
As the pool was crowded we decided to go to the beach- big mistake. the 'sand' was awful and when we went into the sea I felt as though I was swimming in black sludge, although to be fair the beach was better if you went to Cala Millor.

I have never written a bad review before but if you are like us and when in Spain want to feel like you are in Spain - Give this one a miss.

Just came back from our first visit to Protur Bonamar hotel. Reading the reviews before we went we where looking forward to something special that never came. We were in a tiny room at the back side next door to the lift, which had a balcony that was the smallest I've ever seen.
The bathroom was so small it wouldn't take a full size bath, and so to have a bath you would need to sit with you knees under your chin, also the water pressure was so low it would have taken hours to fill the bath.
Even though we are both over 65 we felt there was an atmosphere created by the golden oldies who go every year and completely dominate the poolside sunbeds, even though there are signs everywhere forbidding sunbeds from being reserved with towels it made no difference to the "Regulars" who you got the feeling thought they owned the place.
On a positive note the hotel is clean, the staff are friendly, breakfast is very good, but dinner, whilst the food is good, it gets a bit boring after a few days. Must mention "Natalie" organises all
the entertainment, she does a great job.
In general the hotel is "OK" but we would not go to the Bonamar hotel again.

Room Tip: pay extra and Book a sea view room.

This holiday hotel was in a very short sentence "Truly the best holiday in Majorca I have ever had"
The hotel was immaculately clean , the staff helpful and very friendly in all parts - The entertainer on hand Natalie was awesome - to do that job completely on your own was a magnificent achievement - from an ex redcoat I should know.
People may gripe the rooms are a bit small but hey who spends time in their rooms other than kipping.
The food was of great quality and variety - the entertainments in the evening went from the sublime to the ridiculous - Abba was surprisingly good - but poor old Elvis must be squirming when he sees some acts take him off .
A special mention must be made to Phil and Aileen from Bristol who gave us the biggest laughs ( though unintentionally) - Phil's shuffleboard stance was a sight to behold and Aileen trying to stay on a lilo was a memorable moment.

My only disappointment over whole holiday was finishing 2nd in five events and not getting a diploma - So I never got to hear "HOW DO YOU FEEL" all I heard was DON'T BE JEALOUS !!

Would go again for sure..

Room Tip: Always ask for a pool view if you want a GREAT SEA VIEW.
