Stayed in Levante Hotel end of April/May for one week - 4th visit. Hotel has had a bit of a facelift, making it more modern looking and brighter. As usual food was lovely and generally hot. Chef cooking on hot plates etc. at breakfast and evening also, in addition to the buffet choices which are varied and extensive. Hotel staff really friendly and saw many faces who have been there in the time we have been going there - hello to the lovely Isabel and Raul in the bar along with all the other staff. Entertainment indoors at this time of year, but outside entertainment area has also had new furniture, includiing setees, which makes the whole area modern and inviting and seemed to prove really popular in the daytime, with people having a chillout. Hotel is in ideal location, close to the lovely harbour with surrounding restaurants and bars. Didn't eat out on this occasion but actually waiting for Xaloc restaurant opening, which it didn't during our stay unfortunatley, as we had a lovely meal there last year. British Bar Argos is really nice for an afternoon or evening apperitif!!! Nice meals served daytime and drink very reasonably priced too. Quiz nights a couple of times a week which were really popular.

As other reviews mention, due to the size of the hotel pool being quite small and the hotel having been extended, since the pool area was originally built, the sunbathing area is quite "cosy", however in the lower season we didn't find it a problem, although we have been in August and cannot get a sunbed by the pool, for love nor money (unless you are out at the crack of dawn with some of the saddos, who put their towels out at 0600 hours). Watch out for the seagulls too!!! Sun deck on 3rd floor however is quite nice also, but quiet, if you're like me and like to "people watch", and it can get really hot during the height of the summer.

Overall we had a lovely, relaxing week at the Levante and will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Book a superior room - lovely sea view and during low season gets the sun on the balcony. Also ge...

TRANSPORT - we had no Thomson representative either on the bus nor did we see a rep when we arrived at the hotel. Again there was no rep on the bus back to the airport, one did pop onto the bus to advise us of the booking in desks but, at no time, did we see a rep at the airport whilst we were waiting to check in. Usually we see many reps around making sure things are going smoothly.

HOTEL - Worst Gold we have stayed in so far. Rooms small and there was insufficient drawer space, there was only a small space to get by the table and chairs on the balcony. Also odd things like you couldn’t reach the top of the wardrobe without a ladder and these held the extra pillows and blankets! On a positive note there was a fridge which was free and the safe key charge was reasonable. On arrival at the hotel we were booked in very quickly and our bags were brought to us very quickly. All areas were very clean.

STAFF - The Levante staff were friendly and very helpful.

FOOD – Breakfast great. However the evening meal was very good for the starters, soup and sweet but the main course was very limited and even had odd things like cheese on toast. This might improve at the height of the season.

EVENING ENTERTAINMENT - this sadly lets the hotel down. During our first week there was the usual flamenco evening, however in addition there was 2 consecutive evenings where there were no proper shows only quizzes. The flamenco was repeated again on the following Sunday so if you were staying for 2 weeks forget it! You might think ‘oh they are young and staying at a hotel where there was a large element of the older generation’ in fact one of us is in our late 70’s and we still found it awful and stuffy! By the second week we had had enough and went out and found that the Cala Bona along the road had FABULOUS entertainment. Just as we were leaving it was noticeable that the Levante was upgrading outside chairs and it was rumoured that the entertainment was due to have an uplift. The resident duo were too noisy and not very musical. The inside entertainment area is not ideal with columns hindering the view of the stage.

RESORT - is a long way from the airport, lots of roundabouts so not ideal if you suffer from travel sickness. The beach had huge piles of seaweed all along the coast, especially at the beach outside Levante. We saw no evidence of this being cleared and the sea was also full of the weed, not conducive to swimming. The walkway had a cycle track down the middle and a couple of times we were nearly mowed down by cyclists racing each other and resorted to weaving between walkers outside the designated areas. We suspect that during the more busy times this would create a lot of accidents and young children or the elderly would be at risk of being hurt.

AIRPORT - at Palma is huge and going through security was a nightmare with a long snake of people queuing. There were insufficient chairs for people in the departure lounge, this in April, we wouldn’t want to be there at the height of the season. It was also very hot and stuffy.

Room Tip: In the height of summer best to be on the side facing the outside entertainment area not the pool.

This was our fourth year at the Levante in April and still the best Gold Hotel in our opinion. There is always a friendly atmosphere and we always meet up with people who were here the previous years which speaks for itself. Great food, great location and friendly staff, what more would you want? Well done Levante see you agin soon!!

Room Tip: all rooms are same size but out of season a pool view is best

Just had a week's holiday at The Levante. First vist to the hotel and we would go again. We would recommend a room facing the pool. This will mean that your room gets the sun during the afternoon and you will not be overlooking the outdoor evening entertainment. Once we had our holiday confirmed we did email the hotel direct asking for a room as high as possible. Quite funny because we wrote the email in Spanish and the reply was in English! Though not committing to fulfil our requests, they were met.

All the hotel staff were extremely helpful and the food was varied and plenty of choice. The location is flat and is a short walk to the centre.

There was no pressure on the sunbeds probably because of the weather and the low temperature! In addition the sister hotel across the road wasn't open though the do have a pool the hotel is on the wrong side of the road for sitting around the pool with a sea view.

Would go again.

Just got back from a great week (April 14/21) at the hotel levante, one of the best Spanish hotels we have ever been to. The food was really good, even though it was so early in the season and the hotel staff could'nt do enough for us. As other people have said, the hotel is spotless. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool at this time of year, although I can see there could be a problem in the high season when the hotel Levante Park next door is open.
One problem is that the beach is very poor, I attempted to go for a swim but the sea is full of rocks and I was sinking knee deep in small gravel, so had to abandon the attempt, there is a good beach though less than half a mile away in Cala Millor.
All in all, a really good short holiday....and no doubt we will return!

chose this hotel as it is a thompson gold hotel and we have stayed in one of theirs before, could not fault it at all, right on beach , excellent food and although very early in the season the entertainment was good to excellent on some nights.

First time at the Levante and this early in the season
Booked this holiday for a chill out and certainly got it,Smashing hotel and location. Lovely clean and tidy hotel with good food , Bar and entertainment.Although resort not fully open at this time of year (March) found the hotel a great base Shops , bars and food places a very short stroll away.
All the staff in the hotel were very friendly and the rooms and hotel in general kept very clean and tidy.Pool area very nice too but felt like I had jumped off the Titanic when I braved the pool itself (what can you expect in March).

Room Tip: We booked a sea view and it was smashing but did overhear regular visitors say staying around the op...
