“Will definitely go back to this hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2011

My Husband and I have recently returned from staying at this Hotel. As we have stayed here on many occasions were wondering if standards had slipped. We were pleased to find out that they had not as the Hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff and waiters are friendly and there is still a good choice of food. On Gala nights there is so much food to choose from. I admit the sunbed situation is a pain around the pool with people getting up early, but it is the same at a lot of hotels we have stayed at. We could always get a sunbed and parasol on the beach at 10am but these have to be paid for. Also there is a sundeck that anyone can use. The photo shown is of the Levante Park and not the Levante.

I was at this hotel many years ago in my childhood and returned with my partner for a stay as part of a tour round the beautiful island of Mallorca.

We had spent the previous two nights at the sister hotel across the road the Levante Park and for the last couple of nights we spent at the Levante and on the whole both were very good.

The staff at reception were polite and did their job and we were allocated a nice room with a view towards the sea. The room had a nice balcony with seating and the beds were also very comfortable with a nice clean bathroom and the big plus was the fridge in the room.

The hotel has a lovely pool area which looks out onto the beach. The main draw back of the hotel was the behaviour of some of the guests at the pool and they way in which they would reserve several sun beds and then never use them. They would rush down first thing in the morning put down their towel and then disappear for the day. The hotel is exclusive to Thomson so you really would think that the reps together with local hotel management would do something to tackle the problem.

The pool itself is very nice, and also refreshing as the water is kept lovely and cool which probably explains why few people were using it.

The dining room was busy but we always found a table and we normally went for dinner later on after the rush. The quality of the food was very good and there was something for everyone from the buffet. The salads were all crisp and fresh and were topped up and the staff within the dining room were helpful and assisted with taking plates over to the table etc.

Breakfast was also very good with a wide selection of food available and there was someting for everyone's taste.

Overall I loved this hotel and in someways it brought back memories of many years ago however I feel that the hotel would benefit from not being exclusive to Thomson as the behaviour of some of the guests many of which like to tell everyone how many times they have been at the hotel really is poor. They go about telling you that they have been there 40 times plus and feel that they should receive priority service both at the pool and in the dining room etc. A big advantage would be to open the hotel up for people from all over the world and not just keep it exclusive to Thomson as the majority of the guests are 60 plus and whilst they might be loyal they are turning others away due to the way they behave.

On the whole a lovely hotel and enjoyed the stay.

Our fifth stay at the Levante and pleased to say we enjoyed every minute of it. Location is just brilliant, everything on hand in a low key resort with more to do if you want it in nearby Cala Millor. We are looking forward to next year and sampling the upgraded rooms. Just one minus point and that was the entertainment. Thomson had definately cut back on quality acts and we had to endure the 'Thomson Gold Production Team' many times throughout our 14 day stay. Sort it out Thomson!!!

Room Tip: when booking a seaview ask for a poolside view

Reception good when we arrived at 2.30 am, helped with bags from coach to reception and then to room. Hotel exceptionly clean and stayed that way througout our 10 day stay.
The Chefs and dining room staff were great, menu choice was first class.
Kim and her entertainment team were warm and friendly and organised various entertainment through the day as well as the evening, were on the go from morning until the entertainment ended at close to midnight. The resident duo Diane & Paul had a wide range of music to entertain all great performers, Dianne sings all genre's of music from Jazz to Pop. the main acts were all well chosen and were all superb.
Congratulations to the Thompson team and to the hotel staff, we had a great time.

Room Tip: Try the La luna Annexe, you have to walk to the Lavante Park but the room facilities are good.

We have just returned from our 5th visit to the Levante over the past 10 years. As one would expect at this time of the year the weather was fantastic and the relaxing nature of the hotel and resort just made this a perfect fortnight. We had a room overlooking the entertainment courtyard which had malfunctioning a/c. Reception sorted us a move the following day to another overlooking the courtyard. After this we didn't look back. The hotel food was good particularly the gala dinners on Wednesday and Saturday. There was always plenty of choice and despite other reviewers saying it ws tepid I never found this.

The evening entertainment was pretty good apart from the rep Gemma not being as good a singer as the professional turns. I think sometimes Thomson don't appreciate that people don't want to have their holiday turned into a showcase for reps ego. Saying that we never went out on an evening so it can't have been that bad. The Rod Stewart and Tom Jones tributes were fantastic and Fogwell Flax never ceases to amaze us.

The one bugbear of every summer holiday we take is the sunbed situation. We didn't want to go by the pool as it all seems too crammed but the beach beds at €10.50 for 2 and a brolly tended to be taken before 9 each day. Saying that there were always plenty to the right of the hotel if we didn't get one. I was amazed on the day we left at 6.45 i.e. before sunrise that people were walking through the courtyard to reserve pool beds before the door was unlocked. I'm sure everybody who doesn't do this would welcome confiscation of towels or some other penalty.

Just back from the Levante. Read the mixed reviews before going, It was a great start to have our luggage taken from the bus and put in our rooms while we checked in. Lovely rooms overlooking the beach and pool. Very clean and lots of space,

Excellent choice of food, beautifully displayed, staff in rstaurant very efficient and helpfull..

We all loved the friendly ,happy atmosphere at the Levante. Entertainment is a personal opinion but as a party of 3 couples we just wanted a relaxing fun holiday and the entertainment was just up our street. Loved the Drifters tribute, Tom Jones and the comedians too,

The sun beds - read the complaints from other reviews and understand the problem now that we have been to the Levante. There is clearly no room around the hotel to provide additional sun beds and I must say those that were reserved early in the day were occupied most of the time. Those on the Beach cost 10 euros for 2 beds and a parasol.

One of our party is an early riser to have his morning walk/jog so was happy to put towels on the beach umbrellas and we preferred the space there - a bit crowded round the pool.

My solution to avoid getting up with the sun would be to enjoy a leisurely lie in, a late breakfast, a stroll about before it gets too hot. Sit in the shade on the terrace and have a read of your daily paper or paper back. Enjoy lunch in the beach side snack bar and sit there at your leisure watching the world and the beautiful view of the sea, join in the numerous games around the pool and on the beach. By about 3.30 -4pm sun beds are available on the beach (no charge that time of day) and by the pool and this is the most beautiful time as the sun is not burning it is so pleasant and comfortable.

We will definitely be returning to the Levante next yeasr and will recommend it to our friends.

Just returned from the Levante. When reading this please bear in mind that this is our fifth time here. My wife and I stayed in the Levante 19th - 26th August 2011.
The location of Cala Bona is the main reason why we have returned so often. If you wish for a week / fortnight of pure laziness then this is the place. It is a fairly quiet resort where you can just chill out. You have the options of catching the ferries and travelling up and down the coast tom other resorts or even the local bus service. Thomsons, of course, run various trips. We did not go on any, although we have in the past. The various hotels / bars all seem to have their own entertainment going on but everything shuts down at midnight. If you want more night life then Cala Millor is a 20/30 minute walk away. At night my wife and I walk to the harbour area and the Thalassa cafe / bar is an excellent place to visit. If you are lucky in the evening you might be able to get a seat down by the eaterside, if not there is a seating area just above the cafe and you can sit, drink and watch the world go by - brilliant. We also recommend the cocktail bar located on the way to Cala Millor - it is just before the Bonaire (I think that's how its spelt).
The hotel itself. We find the hotel to be good. Staff friendly, public areas well air conditioned. The hotel is very clean. The cleaning staff really do an excellent job and are often forgotten. They really do work hard in keeping the hotel clean.
The food in the hotel is good. Never did we have any problem in finding something to eat. There is a selection from fish to meat and the food is always hot. I did find chips for breakfast a bit weird but I can't believe the hotel would cook these if no one wanted them so somebody must eat them.
We stayed in a superior grade room only because this was the only one available for the dates we wanted. It was carpeted freshly painted (as looked most of the hotel) and kept well clean and tidy by the cleaning staff (thank you). It overlooked the pool area plus the sea and was very quiet.
My wife and I do not go to this hotel for the entertainment provided and we only saw 1 act in the afternoon (Grace I think it was, this we enjoyed) Generally the evening entertainment seems to be well received judging by the numbers of people watching. During the day the Thomson reps provide a variety of entertainment opportunities - if that's what you like. they do work very hard.
Now sunbeds!!!!!. Yes, if you've read other reviews this is an ongoing problem. Assume you will not get a sunbed by the pool (no I will not get up at 4.30am, although we did hear doors closing at this time in the morning and assumed the sunbed brigade were active). You will spoil you're holiday if you get upset over this. Who do you blame hotel, guests Thomsons?? I don't know I can't see an easy solution. Even the sunbeds on the beach, many of which were taken early in the morning, and yes you do pay for these 10euro 50 cents far 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella, which I think seems very expensive.
Overall we would return and would recommend this hotel and resort.
