Just got back from a week at the bonaire and we had the best time ever. The hotel is very clean and the staff are so friendly and help full .
The main pool is quiet big but my grandchildren prefered the kids pool with the pirate ship and the little water slides .. We went sc so ate out ate the rope and anchor .. Very good food and the staff were lovely .
The thomson reps were fantastic and work so hard keeping the kids and parents enetertained . Team day is fab the thomson reps play games against the parents (dads) mostley .. Water polo was so funny to watch. The evening entertainment is also a credit to all the reps . The main entertainment rep nutty nathan lady lottie and crazy cala are ace but also the other kids reps . Joker jo and tiny tom are so friendly and always make a point of coming over to have a chat . Joker jo is always smiling and tiny tom as that cheeky twinkle in his eye .
All in all this was a fantastic trip and will be defiantly going back

We've just returned from the Bonaire and I must say from start to finish it is a brilliant place to stay.
The hotel rooms are fabulous. Spotlessly clean.
You may need to get to the pool early though as the sunbeds do get snapped up really quickly. We were up at 0645 one morning and people had already started putting their towels out!!
We were all inclusive and the food was excellent with plenty of variety. The bar staff and reataurant staff are brilliant and they really look after you particularly in the evenings when they wait on you.
The Thomson reps do a really wonderful job too. They are on the go all day doing different activities. They work really hard.
The one slightly negative is that the evening entertainment doesn't start until 2100hrs which is quite late when you've got young kids. Some of the acts were brilliant though and worth staying up late for. The Magicians/Acrobats in particular were excellent.
The hotel is a 5 minute stroll from the harbour and loads of restaurants so if you are self catering you wont go hungry!! We ate out one day at L'Oliva and had the Tapas and it was superb so I would definitely recommend there.
Cala Millor beach is really lovely. That is about a 20-25 minute stroll along the beach from Cala Bona but it's flat all the way and designed for walking.
All in all a superb resort and definitely worth visiting.

Room Tip: I emailed the Hotel before I left and asked for a room in Block 4 or 5 as these had the best views of the area. They were brilliant and emailed me back and said they would try to accomodate me and we ended up in Block 5. Pool view and Sun all day.

We stayed here for the first week of Easter as a last minute cheap getaway and had a great holiday.

The hotel is situated on the opposite end of the island from the airport so a coach trip of around an hour is required to get there. Not really a big problem.

From the outside, the hotel looks pleasing enough and that carried over to the lobby and bar area. Check in was smooth and efficient and within a few minutes of arriving we were in our room. We went self catering so the kitchen area contained a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and hob.
One of the drawers in the fridge was broken when we arrived but after a quick call down to the front desk they said they'd sort that out for us. The kettle needed replacing as well as it leaked. That too would be fixed.
We had a nap that afternoon and whilst asleep the maintenance/room service staff must've come in and fixed without even waking us up. We didn't even realise until we opened the fridge and noticed it'd been fixed.
The bed itself was a small problem for us. It was actually two single beds pushed together. Two single beds that had been fully made and pushed together so it was like we weren't in the same bed. I found the bed uncomfortable so I took the cushions from the sofa and laid them on the bed which made it far more bearable.
Speaking of the bedroom, the heater/air con was a bit of a mystery until speaking to the front desk. It isn't air con 365 days of the year. In the colder months it's a heater and the warmer months it was an air con so when we were there it was on heater mode and not realising we were actually heating up the room regardless of the temp we put it on, not cooling it down. Once we'd sorted that out, the nights were cooler which aided sleep. Sometimes to the point of it being cold!

The hotel provides some great entertainment throughout the day and evening and the children would be well looked after. There's an indoor and outdoor pool as well as a kids only pirate ship play pool. There were plenty of sun beds and were easily moved to get the best position to catch the sun, even if that meant dragging them to the grass areas out back.
There's an italian restaurant on site which was quite good, but I'd certainly recommend going to Paparazzi for a really great Italian.
The bar serves a number of food items which should be enough for lunch. The bar staff were great. Incredibly friendly, happy and always joking around with the guests.

We must've visited before everything had really started to open for the holiday season as Cala Bona itself was quiet to the point of being dead. Not much going on there, but if you were after a peaceful and relaxing holiday (like us) then it was ideal.

There were a few things that I would have to say about our stay.
Firstly, the cleanliness wasn't great. Even after room service there were still cobwebs and dust in the room. That could definitely be improved. Speaking of room service, it doesn't happen everyday. There are days where only towels are changed, and other days where bedding is changed as well. There's even a day where no room service takes place.
We missed room service one day so we went 2 nights with the same sheets and towels. This was corrected once we spoke to the front desk.

We really enjoyed our stay here, it's award is justified. It was exactly what we wanted for a last minute break. It would also be more than suitable for families as well. With a few improvements, it could be a truely great place to stay.

just returned form a 10 night SC holiday at the Bonaire. wow what can I say. Staff were friendly and go out of their way to help and serve you. good splash park for the kids at the back (it is chilly tho) my two liked the main pool as it was warmer. plenty of sunbeds around the both pools but sometimes hard to get beds so top tip but down towels around breakfast time. As we were SC we ate out a few times, the Italian 5 mins away as you walk towards the sea front is gorgeous, lovely relaxing area and relaxing music. not too pricey either. we also ate in the main restaurant and it has excellent choice of food and deserts. Onto the kids reps, they were fab. Nutty Nathan, Krazy Kayla and lady Lottie. my two boys 5 and 8 loved the music and games of a night. kept them entertained constantly. especially the giggly-bits chair were kids get invited up onto stage to tell a joke, do a dance/song or tell juicy gossip. boys miss them lots. ..... Cala bona all round quiet and not much of a beach, I would advise to take the city bus from the bus stop near the bip supermarket and go to sa coma, about 8 euros for family so cheap and gorgeous beach. we also took the Thomson mega day family excursion to aqua land on our last day. it was good and boys enjoyed the rides food was also included in the price. . 156 euros for 4 of us....... overall fantastic hotel, fabulous holiday and would highly recommend to families with young kids . we stayed from Friday 31st may til tuesday 11th june.

Room Tip: block 1 is noisy and is at the back of the stage and above reception etc but when entertainment is outside you can't hear that much.
