We booked our stay directly via the hotel website, saving quite a bit of money compared to the travel agents, as well as getting rewarded by the hotel with a huge fruit basket and a bottle of wine. We didn't need it, but cancellation policy is very reasonable. If you cancel more than 7 days prior to arrival, there is no charge.

After having stayed in Viva Menorca last year, we found our way in Viva Mallorca very easily. The lay out is similar, just bigger, rooms are the same setup, just bigger and the whole look and feel was very similar. Well maintained walk ways, clean corridors, groomed gardens, all very nice.
The hotel was fully booked and there were plenty of people around but it never felt over crowded and the service was still friendly and personal.

some quick facts:
Room (1214)
+ Spacious
+Bath and separate shower
+Balcony with sea view
+Aircon worked well
+ Free Wifi
-Sound proofing not great.
-Furniture bit dated
-Bed bit hard, but had good sleep

Pool:
+Huge pool
+Pirate Ship for the kids
+Enough sun beds
-Very cold water

Restaurants /Bar
+Quality of the food generally good (crispy chips from buffet is good)
+Friendly service
+Although we had all inclusive drinks were served at the table, no drinks buffet.
-Not a lot of variety in food

Entertainment
+Bufo mini disco is great for the kids, they really take the time for the kids

Location
+10 mins walk to beautiful sandy beach
A great service that the offer is the all night cold buffet for people that leave in middle of the night / early morning. They ensure you never leave with an empty stomach!

So all in all we had great family holiday and we can only recommend Hotels Viva.

Just spent 10 wonderful days at this resort. Normally do 5* carribean All Inclusive, but my plans changed this year and this was a last minute decision. Just booked a 1 Bedroom apartment, self catering. Read loads of reviews, mostly good but the odd bad one, so just hoped for the best. And we certainly got the best. We were given an upgrade as the hotel was full and we had a wonderful apartment overlooking the pool and gardens rather than the road (room 3205). It was clean and spacious, the little kitchen had everything you needed if you wanted to cook, which we didn,t. We had a lovely long balcony to sit out on. And best of all we slept so well as the windows had the blackout curtains. Normally we wake up with the sun, but we were sleeping until 8-8.30 in the morning. The bathroom had a bath and a separate walk-in shower which was really nice. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The only negative I have about this resort is the choice of English language channels on the TV. You had Sky News and BBC News (If you were lucky). It was more catered to German or Spanish. We done the 2hr+ transfer from the airport which was a bit boring and would probably hire a car next time. The hotel itself was about 10 minute walk away from the beach and shops and restaurants, which for us was perfect as it gives you peace at night but close enough to walk to.We

Stayed here for a week in September. Got a taxi from the airport to avoid the 2hr+ transfer which was about €80 - worth every penny!
The hotel was a bit smaller than I thought it would be from pictures and sun loungers are very close together - except for the adult beds which are lovely. We paid extra in advance to book a 1 bed poolside garden room so am confused by people saying its not an option. i guess there are limited numbers bookable in advance and we got lucky? We were there with an 18 month old, not sure you'd want to be there without kids. The little park by the restaurant was fantastic. He even enjoyed the little bit of evening entertainment we watched.

Hotel was very clean and food was good. The seafood special and oriental/sushi nights were particularly good. Pool bar lunch is a bit more cheap & cheerful.
The mojitos were excellent too!

I don't think we'll return as thought it was expensive for what it was compared to other places we've stayed, but it was OK.

Just returned from a weeks stay and to be honest couldnt really fault it. We were all inclusive so had choice of using pool bar or buffet during day and buffet at night. Felt buffet was varied and theme nights on every night. Staff were friendly and childrens entertainment staff made a real effort with our 4 yr old son. Lovely childrens pool but a bit on the cold side. We found water warmer at beach and so kids could play longer. We also hired a bike near beach with two seats for adults and 2 for children, 8 euros for an hr, great fun and a great way to see a bit more. Apartments clean and spacious, we had ground and not poolside but felt wasnt worth paying extra for one as can be arranged on arrival if availability. Free wifi but patchy connection. Cots were 4 euros a night. Great playround for children. Entertainment fairly gd and childrens mini disco every night. We had a great holiday and would return again or to another Viva hotel.

Stayed there at the end of Sept 2013 for one week (from the 21st). We went with our two year old son and stayed in one quiet lovely apartment facing a small street, not the pools, which was perfect! We even had a balcony, which was lovely.
However, I found it surprising (not in a nice way) that they were charging for the use of the safe (2.40 euro a day) and for the use of a cot (4 euro a day).
Also, there was a bit of a noise challenge coming from housekeeping. One of the mornings, at 7 am I was woken up by a very loud noise (so was my family) and I went out of the room to find a housekeeping lady dragging two cots, one stacked on top of the other, into a room on the floor beneath us. I asked her to please make less noise and her response was (in a muffled voice) " I am almost done". This was just the beginning of a concerto of dragging furniture which made it impossible to sleep anyway. When I mentioned the incident to the reception, it was barely taken notice of and I only received a half hearted apology.
This is a 4* property, however there are some services missing under my point of view in order to get such ratings. Enhanced customer care (work on friendliness, empathy) and porter services would be a great starting point, especially if you have extra money from so many safes and cots.
Further food & beverage offerings would be great, especially targeted at the guests on a room only rate. I would have loved a pizza at 6pm but couldn't get it because the little hut was shut and only buffet was available to those with a package that included food and beverage.
This is a family hotel, and as such, great for kids, especially with the uber-cool Pirate Ship at the kids pool (water only 40cm high, so very secure too), several play grounds and lots of activities during the day as well as a daily evening entertainment in 3 languages (german, english, spanish).
The room was cleaned nicely every day (except Thursday and Monday when there's no cleaning service) and the hotel pools and grounds looked well taken care of.
All in all, nice hotel, but because of the noise from the housekeeping staff I would not consider returning to this hotel.

Dear Guests,
Thank you for coming to Viva Mallorca to spend your holiday.
We understand your issue with the extra charge for the safe and for the baby cot if you had not been informed it beforehand but it is advertised in the brochure.
We have taken note about the inconvenience with the noise made by the cleaning staff.
Thank you for your comments. They are really appreciated so that we can improve our service.
Please do not hesitate to contact the hotel manager so that he can receive you personally if you decide to come back to viva Mallorca.

Kind regards.

Just about to leave the resort after a two week stay, and overall a really nice resort.
Viva Mallorca itself is set a 10 min walk to the beach in a very nice family resort called c'an picafort. The whole place is very much catered towards the German market but don't let that put you off as its a really laid back place with great beaches and some really nice restaurants (ciao ciao for great pizzas and Taj Mahal one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to).
Viva Majorca is a family orientated place very much caterered for all inclusive. The rooms are spacey but dated, though very clean, (odd numbers are pool view and recomended) as is the whole place. There is free Wifi throughout but connection is
often a problem. They have a shop that sells most things (strangely closed on a Thursday) but can be pricey.
The restaurant is not great and quite dear for what it is, as is the bar which is extremely expensive compared to local bars. The entertainment is not great but is free, there is a great play area for the younger ones and also a kids club, but the star attraction has to be the pirate ship with the slides, a great attraction for 3-10 year olds.
There was plenty of sun beds to go round so no prob there.
The staff overall are very nice though service can sometimes be slow. If you want to upgrade to a pool view room with a garden expect to pay €25 a day extra, though they charge the same price for the ones at the back and I wouldn't want one of those.
Best tip I could give about Viva Mallorca is make sure your room is an odd number.

Stayed here mid Sept 2013. Weather was warm but cloudy.

Hotel reception very impressive upon arrival after a long trip and staff helpful. Had a long walk to the apartment tho with 4 bags, a pram and a tired toddler at midnight, so would be helpful if there was a night porter on duty when expecting new arrivals, or at least get someone to gather up a luggage trolley for us to use.

Pools look beautiful at night, all lit up.

We had a one bed apartment, very clean and welcoming. However considering we were arriving late, and self catering it would have been perfect to have seen a little welcome pack with a few breakfast essentials, as by the time we arrived all shops are closed and we had nothing in for the morning apart from a bottle of water they had put in the fridge. Maybe a few pieces of bread and some butter would be a suggestion just to put you on in the morning until you have the opportunity to go to the shops.

You can upgrade to half board or full board on arrival, but at 53 euros per person per day for all inclusive I do think this is a pricey option. Please note then when going self catering the facilities include a microwave, toaster, fridge, and two electric rings, so it covers your basic needs but would be nice to see a little oven rather than just a microwave.

The hotel is more of a complex so feels spacious and well laid out. The kids activities in the day are a little lame, mainly a lot of shouting and jumping around, they could do with being a bit more focused like having more games and challenges. It would be helpful if on the notice board it actually told you where they were being held. The outdoor play area is very good, and bouncy castle up all the time. Put the plastic areas get very hot in the sunshine!!

The evening entertainment was very good and we did watch it every night from about 9pm. The entertainers clearly put a huge amount of time and effort into it and it shows.

Be warned the pools are freeeeeeeezing.

Local area is nice, and cars actually stop for you at the zebra crossings! Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. I would recommend the Chinese which was the only one I saw in the area, about a 5 minute walk straight down from the hotel then take a right. If you're at the beach you've gone too far. There is a pedestrian shopping street with all the usual gifts for sale, at the top of that street there is a restaurant on the right hand side which I think is marketed as a pizzeria, but it does excellent steaks. The restaurants on the beach front all sell more or less the same food.

Beach is lovely and clean, and the sea is warm and remains shallow quite far out.

You can hire the hotels bikes for a reasonable price too.

There is a gym too which I did use but not much equipment. Could do with a few free weights, and maybe a couple more cardio machines.

I would recommend to someone wanting a family holiday. I found that the earlier you book the better value for money you get.

Room Tip: They charge an extra 30 euros a day for a garden room, which if you have kids that still nap in the...
