The staff of this hotel are all fantastic and cannot do enough for you. Their aim is to please and they will do everything they can to make your holiday go smoothly. There are nine blocks of rooms plus the reception/bar/restaurant buildings so it doesn't seem like a big hotel. We stayed in Block E with a lovely view of the garden and pool area. The rooms are spacious and very clean. There aren't any lifts so if you have mobility issues ask for a ground floor room. The garden and pool area is large with plenty of sunbeds no matter what time of day - who said its the Germans who snap up the sunbeds - the British are just as bad - but this didn't matter as there were ample to go round. The food is ample, lots of choice to suit all tastes and always hot. Its a Thomson Gold so no children and entertainment from 11.00am until 12.00midnight. You can join in or simply relax, the choice is yours. Local buses run every 15 minutes to Playa de Muro, Alcudia, Puerto Pollensa or Ca'n Picafort Centre and their a local mini tourist train too. Both stop very close to the hotel so are ideal for exploring. The quieter resort of Son Baulo is on the doorstep and Ca'n Picafort centre is a 20 minute walk along the promenade. We travelled as two couples and everyone of us said how much we'd enjoyed our stay. We would also return at some point in the future.

Room Tip: Blocks C, D and E with pool and garden views.

If you want 4 Star don't go to the Picaford Park. If you have paid £300 you have a good deal at half board. If you have paid over that then it is not good value. Put on Thomson's site as a 4 star (never). Very outdated, But staff are nice. Food you will find something that you like, but should never be a 4 star. As I say good value at £300 a week

we where let down 13 hours before our planned holiday to the U S A should have begun so we got a last minute holiday to the Picafort Park Hotel in Majorca.and what a lucky choice it turned out to be,the room was spacious and relativly clean, well decorated but with tired looking furniture, but the big plusses were the thomson staff and the hotel staff they were all very helpful, this hotel only caters for over eighteens so it was very peaceful in the spacious garden and around the pool (plenty of sunbeds),the food was good but with little variety as this holiday is only sold in Britain, another plus was the evening entertainment,it was great with professional singers, comics even limbo dancers,so a lucky last minute choice.

Room Tip: you can choose a ground floor room facing the garden as there are no lifts (the rooms are set in blo...

Just returned from a week at the Picafort Park Hotel. Wow what a fab time. Everyone from the cleaning staff to management couldnt do enough for you. Went with a sore throat and was treated to welcome honey and lemon hot drinks in the mornings to help. Pedro, the dining room manager - what a legend he is the most remarkable guy the food was fantastic and choice was amazing you could never say that there wasnt anything you could eat. All the evening bar staff walk around the function room taking your orders. The entertainment was great apart from one night "Graham Powell" who spent more time chanting his CV than actually entertaining. Days just drifted away on the sunbeds and the daytime entertainment was - although not all our cup of team - attended well. Selina and Ailsa did a good job even if most of the people where more interested in relaxing than actually taking part the quizzes were good fun. All in all a super week and we will definitely be going back. Just a couple of pointers - either take your own beach towel for the loungers (£10 deposit for hire of one which you can change daily if you want and you get your money back at the end of week) and if you want a cup of tea first thing take a travel kettle with you as there are no room facilities for tea and coffee. Beds are extremely comfortable and everything is spotlessly clean. If you want to relax dont miss it.

Room Tip: If you can try to avoid Block A as it backs onto a hotel with children and as this is an adults only...

Early October and returned from a week in this hotel which was very disappointing. It advertises itself as a 4 star Hotel, a Thomson Gold rating, fully inclusive adults only location. In my opinion it is wrong on all counts. In the UK it might just make a 3 star, it does not meet the qualifications for a gold rating, it is not fully inclusive and it is more like a campus than a Hotel.
Location is good 600yds from the coast and 3/4 mile from a sand beach and about 3/4 mile from the busy town centre.Local buses are quite regular to all the main towns. Accommodation is found in one of 9 three story (no lifts) blocks built in a semi circle, in quite nice gardens, around a large swimming pool, that was very cold, plenty of sun beds scattered around. At the end of the semi circle can be found the reception, housing some very serious looking ladies, dinning room and large lounge which housed a large bar and a small stage for evening entertainment. The entertainment was put on by Thomson and was very good bordering excellent on most evenings - the only problem was that this venue cannot accommodate all those who wish to view the evening performances, highlighted one evening by a 'punch up' between drunken Scots and London guests fighting over obtaining seats,(the scot's lost) so you do have to get in really early or be prepared to stand at the back for a couple of hours-not what you want to do on holiday. The bar is in the same area and houses very noisy coffee machines which at times sadly drowned out the entertainment. The two on site Thomson girls worked very hard throughout the day were always cheerful and helpful although a bit 'hi de hi' at times. The worst was the 'Hotel' itself - the en suite rooms were kept very clean but the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. A fridge was provided but no tea or coffee facility and its quite a walk to get a cup of tea first thing. It is not fully inclusive as they sting you with many extra charges which you have to pay for in ' cash ' in advance, and if you only have sterling the exchange rate they offer is very poor, WI Fi an extra cost and they delay the logging out time so you pay much more than used. Apart from two news channels on the TV you have to pay for all the others. Want to use the safe = more cash. Want some pool towels = hefty deposit. Better quality wine and drinks cost your more-in cash and the food is a bit hit and miss and nothing special apart from a lady who will cook eggs and omelettes for you to order at breakfast.. Can you believe that no credit cards are accepted and yet they supposed to have a Gold rating. Unless you want to drink yourself into oblivion do not take the 'fully Inclusive' option as it is not worth it. Many local places to eat lunch cheaply and drink at only 1.50 per pint. Finally you can be forgiven for thinking you are in an Old Folks home - we are in our sixties and were probably some of the youngest their. The site reminds me very much of butlin's in the seventies and eighties but in fairness a more modern butlin's without families and children.
I think Thomson need to look harder at this facility - it could be so much better with the right management and some money spent on it in redevelopment, refurbishing and including relocation of the bar.

Room Tip: Second or Third Floor in blocks B C D E or F. you have a choice of looking over the rooftops to the...

We have just returned from a week and a half in Picafort Park. Having spent a similar time a couple of years ago in Hotel Savoy Gardens in Madeira, which had been our first Gold holiday with Thomson, we were looking forward to a relaxing break in the sun. We got the sun, but not the relaxation! The daytime entertainment was extremely loud and very intrusive - to be fair, you weren't pestered to join in the activities, but you couldn't avoid them. When we went out, we could hear the reps on the microphone several hundreds of yards away by the shops. All in all, we did not enjoy the 'holiday camp' type of entertainment and if we never hear the 'march of the mods' again that will suit us!

The restaurant food was quite limited in choice, and the quality not as good as we have had elsewhere. Although service was very efficient, sometimes the waitresses were over efficient and more than once we had our plates removed while we still had food on them ........... However, there was plenty to eat with several courses available and there were no attempts to hurry us out. They also need to do something about the flies in the restaurant.

We chose the half board option and we would advise people who are not sure to do this initially, rather than the all inclusive, as you can always pay the extra for the all inclusive if you decide that is for you. It didn't suit us because we thought it was very limited and not good value for us - but that is more a personal choice - provided you are happy to spend your holiday with a green plastic band on your wrist! The few drinks that we bought in the hotel were nowhere near the cost of the (almost) 17 euros per day per person of the all inclusive cost, and we enjoyed leaving the hotel and going for a (quieter) drink by the sea.

We had a third floor room with a balcony so small that we had to move the two chairs and table around to open both doors, or to get to the clothes line to dry out swimming gear. We were also not warned in advance by Thomsons that there were no lifts to the rooms, so we had to trudge up two flights of stairs each time we went to our room. The room was basic but OK, with towels changed daily even though we hung them up for intended re-use. We had a view over the lawns and pool, which was better than a lot of them at the back of the buildings, although this meant we had no sun on our balcony.

On the positive side - the pool was the best we have seen for a long time, and the lawns were lovely. There were always plenty of sun loungers and during October there was plenty of room for everyone. All the staff, including the Thomson reps, were very friendly and helpful.

We definitely will not be going back to this hotel, and probably not on another Gold holiday after this experience. If you like a 'holiday camp' style holiday, with lots of loud entertainment and people smoking anywhere and everywhere in the grounds, including the seating area by the bars, then this is for you - but definitely not for us!

Room Tip: No lifts to rooms, so ask for a ground floor if you have problems with stairs. No tea making facili...
