Just got back from our 3rd visit to this hotel and again had a fantastic holiday. We opted for the all inclusive option this year as we hardly left the hotel the previous years we had been. In response to the previous comments regarding AI drinks being subsidised by the HB customers i disagree are these people forgetting that we paid an additional £112 per person for the week when we booked our holiday so we didn't have to pay when we got there.
My one complaint regarding the AI is that when ordering certain drinks like cocktails there was no fruit on the side of glasses or umbrellas yet if you were paying for it you got the extras. Not sure why this is it isn't like we were getting it for free we had just prepaid.
Liked the fact that you could use the pool bar or the restaurant for lunch, have seen a lot of remarks regarding the food i don't know what people expect. We found there was plenty of choice and food was always hot. People have said that there is always pork on the menu which there is but there is always at least 2 alternatives such as chicken or fish plus a vegetarian option and this is before you have even mentioned the salads. You don't have to put one of everything on you plate every night and then say that there is no variety.
The one problem that we did have that we have not experienced at this hotel before is the reserving of sunbeds at a ridiculous hour, if you wanted a spot round the pool you had to set your alarm for before 7 or you didn't stand a chance although you could always find a spot on the grass. The day we left we were picked up at 7 so were in reception at 6.45 and there were already towels out UNBELIEVABLE! For years we have blamed the Germans but it was the English all along.
Entertainment team of Deano and Stacey were fab! My partner gave them a lot of stick over the course of the week but was taken in good taste and they gave as good as they got. They work tirelessly and deserve a medal. Evening entertainment was ok but aimed at older residents. Liked the introduction of Bingo to the evening entertainment.
Room was clean as always, and it was nice to catch up with repeat offenders and meet some new ones too!
Overall if your looking for a nice quiet holiday in a nice resort it doesn't matter what age you are you will enjoy it don't listen to the negative reviews it just people being over critical if you want 5* then go to 5*hotel and pay 5* prices.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms have bigger balconies apparently.

This was our third visit here in 4 years. previously we found it a great place to visit and it was like a home from home.

But sadly progress into all Inclusive has severely damaged that reputaion in our opinion.

Firstly i would like to say that all the staff which include Thomsons reps, entertainment team and the hotel staff are as good as ever and there were some sparkling personalities among them. This is one of Thomsons and the Hotels strengths.

However, they have got it wrong with this hotel this year, I am firm believer in if it isn't broke don't fix it, and it wasn't broke..................

AI is not the answer, when you have repeat customers returning year on year, for lots of reasons, including meeting up with new friends they have made in previous years.

The AI situation has bred a two level clintele and with fear of becoming a holiday snob i didn't want to be told what I can have at every turn, hence we do not do AI. We have always looked on the Picafort Park as a venue where staff and customers got on great and had the attitude where the holiday was relaxing and enjoyable, and unfortunately it now comes across as an all day drinking venue for the over 50's. It was never like that previuosly. Comments like "it reminds me of a working men's club in the evening" were often heard.

If Thomsons are using this as a way to make more money on every sale,I feel it has more than damaged the reputation of a very good venue. When talking to the local bars, restaurants, they were losing business because AI were keeping the guests in the hotels at no benefit to the hotel, as they were not paying for thier drinks.

The two tier system also extended to the restaurant and bar where there was one price for the AI and one price for non AI. This is in my opinion Scandalous. I feel as non AI, we are subsidising drink prices for the AI guests.

Originally we felt we had found a location we could return to time and time again, unfortunately now we will be looking for an alternative, this will probably be our last visit to the Picafort Park unless it reverts back to Half Board.

Room Tip: anything with a sea view, B.C,D or E,

We have just got back from AI (green wrist band) stay at Picafort Park 12th - 26th June we did have a lovely relaxing time the hotel is very clean and all of the staff are lovely especially the entertainment team they are are brilliant
(hope you enjoyed the champagne Deano) there is a lovely walk into C'an Picafort along the front it is a 20 min stroll and a lovely beach but you will have to pay 10€ a day for two sun beds and a brolly a bit expensive I think
The pool is very easy to get into and shallow until you walk under the pool bar bridge then its gradual to deep there were the long flotations that people had left behind just reassuring when you can't swim like me especially when you get temperatures well into the 30s in the shade remember
You can take the Noddy train from outside of the hotel to C'an Picafort 3€ return get on get off where you want also there is a bus just around the corner every 15 min to all main areas
The food is the big let down no choice unless you like PORK this will let this hotel down so
Note to management please sort this out it is too repetitive you know what you are going to eat before you get in the restaurant not good
HOUSE wines, beer, shorts, coffee, tea, soft drinks are included in AI but you can get international drinks at a lesser payment you will pay for certain food at the pool bar AI !!!
you will get a bottle if you ask for wine at lunch and evening meal(small or large) not just a glass nice
you will have to pay for your safe KEY 45€ for 2 weeks 5€ refundable
Your towels you will pay a deposit 10€ per towel refundable
The clientele here is 75% over the age of 50 (all so very friendly and all English) so it is not a noisy complex if you are the sort of people that retire early ask for B block its lovely and quiet and we were facing the sea send a e mail with your preferences and they will try to accommodate you
All in all nice relaxing time

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view and a quiet room B block is good

Over the past 15 years we have stayed at most of the Med-based Gold Hotels. My wife and I were at the Picafort Park from June 5th to 19th, it was our second visit to this hotel after a 3 year gap.
First, very little has changed here bar the introduction of All Inclusive (AI) and bingo.
3 years ago I complained that there were not enough umbrellas for the number of beds available, and that the meals were wholesome but plain and unimaginative. No improvements there.
The hotel is looking rather tired now, and needs a facelift - inside and out. Rooms were clean and have good storage facilities, but the bathrooms have cracked and lifting tiles, the plumbing is losing its chrome plating. I can only speak as I found.
AI is the more economical option by far, but it is an option and is thereby divisive; paying guests seemed to prefer the waiter service, AI guests seemed to prefer to fetch their own drinks from the bar. Rarely would AI and paying guests share a table.
My own past experience of AI holidays has been that we tended to stay within the hotel to take the full advantage of lunch and free drinks, we prefer to mooch around the local bars and restaurants.
AI is available 1100 to 2300 and the free drinks are limited to a restricted house selection. All other drinks are half price to AI guests, and outside the 1100-2300 period, they are at the normal price.
My main complaint regarding Picafort Park now does stem from the AI option.
Evenings, there is really only one bar, and entertainment etc is all indoors. AI guests seem to enjoy the stroll to the bar rather than taking advantage of the very efficient waiter service, and as a result there is a stream of AI guests (green wrist straps all) moving to and fro, many of them via the dance floor during the entertainment.
The hotel now allows Bingo every night, again in the main bar. If you do not like Bingo (like us) then learn to use sign language for the 20 mins or so it takes EVERY evening to play for a line and then a house. Some of those insisting on quiet for the bingo then proceeded to virtually shout at each other in competition with with the entertainment and they spoilt it for the others. With only the one bar and communal area, a clash of interests (talkers vs listeners) is inevitable.
The hotel Wi-Fi service was cumbersome and slow, my iPad took forever to link to the internet, and my Kindle would not connect under any circumstances. I had a tussle with reception and the manager over the WI-Fi (I am a retired IT manager), but got nothing bar a Gallic (?) shrug. Either download all your books at home, or find an outside bar with Wi-Fi! Use the reception area internet terminals otherwise.
The entertainment was average for Gold hotels. The resident Thomson staff were friendly and approachable throughout the day, and performed well on their entertaining evenings, special praise here for Deano. Marcus and Stacey were comparatively new to the hotel if not this business, but I have no doubt they will polish up well. The Thomson Entertainment Team was very good, which from previous experience, surprised me, but the quality of the specialist acts was patchy. The resident duo Jango are competent, but the guitarist cracks the same inane jokes every evening. Utterly cringe-worthy.
We will not go there again.

hotel is run down and could do with a lick of paint to freshen it up,had a ground floor suite spacious but basic, very clean tho, staff very friendly and mostly helpful. FOOD was not good in fact the hot meals at lunch and dinner were mostly dried out and tasteless with PORK PORK AND MORE PORK being the main event,When fish was served it was mostly boiled and served in a tasteless sauce or breaded and dried out.But the staff were very good.
The entertainment was rubbish with the exception of acora and elvis, and the four thomson singers who perform twice a week.
The resident duo were particularly bad with the girl singer unable to sing in tune and constantly sreeching into the mike shattering the eardrums and her hubby was a mega bore,he really should forget the comedy.
As for the thomson entertainment team well they try hard but with the exception of deano (if thats his name) they lack any form of talent and should be packed of to a childrens park.
The hotel has provided an easy access to the pool for disabled and elderly guest, but at 4pm everyday it cant be used because the entertainment team are recruiting younger people to shout and leap about in the pretence of playing volly ball in the access area making it very awkward for folk to get in and out of the pool.
we went on the coach trip named majorca uncorked and were led by a canadian women guide who was unbelieviable boring giving us nearly two hours of comentry on her life ,two husbands and her farm ,pointing out her sons burger bar but little else and when it came to wine tasting she bumbled along presenting that and it was clear she had no clue about the subject.
as for the sunbeds yes there were plenty but if you wanted shade as well then YOU HAD TO JOIN THE RUSH AT 7AM TO ENSURE YOUR SPOT.
First holiday were after 5days i was looking forward to going home.

Room Tip: Iprefer a ground floor suite but all rooms seem to be ok but very basic

We returned from this hotel on 19 June. We had a great holiday - room was comfortable and very quiet. The pool area was exceptional - very spacious with loads of sunbeds - no getting up at 6am to reserve a bed, plus there were loads of shaded areas on the grass. THe netertainment during the day was graet - lots of games to join in if you wanted. At night it was like most hotels - some nights better than others. The restaurant was very nice - not the greatest choice on the buffet but still very good. I liked that there was always a lot of fresh fruit available. The entertainments team were very friendly - especially Deano who is a star in the making!! The hotel is in a quiet residential area - a 10 minutes walk takes you to San Baulo beach which is lovely or walk to the left for about 20 minutes and you reach the resort centre which is much like any other resort centre in Majorca - lots of bars, restaurants & gift shops - we went in the evening so didn't see much of the beach but it looked nice and sandy. Would definitely return to this hotel

Room Tip: Be awrae that rooms are in 2-storey blocks with no lifts
