Hotel Flamenco

Lets put this into perspective ...We have just returned from a lovely one week bed and breakfast at HOSTAL Flamenco... ! I have put Hostal in capitals as that is what its grading is and feel that the agents should be telling clients of this. The room was spacious, clean, plenty of storage sand had a balcony with lovely view and en suite, it is situated close to all amenitiies and could not be in a better position. Fiona the Manager/Receptionist was extemely helpful and was put under enormous pressure by residents who were expecting a five star hotel for the little money they paid. We had checked the accomodation on Trip Advisor before going and was full of trepidation of what we would find due to what would seem to be professional moaners putting unfair comments on here.
I took anti bacterial wipes for the bathroom just in case, the toilet seat was marked through age but when wiped it proved to be clean, the
showerroom on the landing was spotless. We had hot water everyday between the allotted times once again the Travel agents should be advising people of this. Yes breakfast is just toast and jam , coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice but again for the price charged this is acceptable and the same would cost you 3.50 Euros, in the cafes on the beachfront.
The only problem we suffered was lack of sleep some nights due to residents poor behaviour which could have happened anywhere and Fiona
done her best to resolve the problem by speaking to those responsible which included asking two guests to leave. Our bed sheets and towels were clean and we did not expect to have a TV in room as this was not advertised. the room is cleaned everyday with exception of Sundays. Wifi is available free which is not always provided by top class hotels. So if you are like us on a tight budget and require rustic spanish accomodation in a fab location I would recommend it. Thanks again Fiona

Room Tip: 2ND FLOOR Sea View and very spacious with balcony

My wife and two grandsons stayed at the Hostel just last week in the family room on the 4th floor.
We had a lovely view of the beach and the harbour - the breakfast was not brilliant, just toast & jam and tea & coffee but it was ok. The evening meal was certainly ok as the two boys ate everything without complaint. The staff are very nice and our thanks go to Lukas & Fiona especially for making our stay very enjoyable.

No hot water, electrics dangerous, food a disgrace, décor is dated-needs a coat of paint at least.
All the English people who arrived while we were there said that they had been mislead by the rating-and believed it was an Hotel-when in fact it is an Hostel-which if in this country would be condemned. We went has a party of four in two rooms and ended up separated by 3 floors-was not a happy bunny- You can only get one person in the lift at any one time.

Room Tip: Lower floors are better because you can only get one person in the lift.

Me and my partner have just spent a week at Hostel Flamenco. Yes it is basic as it is a cheap hostel. However after reading the reviews before the holiday found it was way above our expectations.
The entrance of the hostel is a nice bar with friendly staff that were available to serve a small selection of drinks any time of day or night. Our room was cleaned everyday to a good standard, beds were made and towels were changed once which was fine. all facilities inc. plugs, shower toilet worked well.
The Hostel is in a perfect location. Its very close to the beach which was lovely and a selection of restaurants. We recommend you eat at Don Denis, just a minuets walk away. Also a 2 minute walk from a bus stop if you fancy going on any excursions.
We didn't have a balcony but there is a communal balcony on the 1st floor which was always empty so we used it as our own!
If your looking for a cheap base for your beach holiday this is more than adequate. Just don't go full board as the food didn't look too appetising!

Closed when we arrived at 2.00 pm on a Saturday. One single bed in a double room. No bathroom in room - it's down the corridor, but it doesn't have hot water anyway. Queue for a piece of toast and a cup of coffee for breakfast. The lousiest works canteen wouldn't serve the slop for dinner. A Spanish guest actually called the police because it was so bad!

Everything you read about this place is true and a lot more. Supposed to have a sea view but ended up in a middle room facing someone else's window, food was disgusting with no choice, no hot water, no plug sockets that worked, damp up the wall, infested in ants, no pool, but on the plus side had a great laugh with Fiona and Lucas the English speaking staff

Room Tip: Don't know if there is one
