“Fabulous location”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

Just come back from a week in this hotel, all inclusive. It was fabulous. The location was the best thing for me, right on the coast, next to a little cove where you can go snorkelling, and just a 10 minute stroll along the coast to a beautiful, but busy beach. But, the rest of it was also great - fantastic swimming pool, friendly staff, very very helpful reception manager. The room was very clean and we had a beautiful view of the sea. The food was pretty good, lots of choice, and some of the food was outstanding. You can't really eat lunch at the pool bar, I had thought you could, but there are only really sandwiches and salads available out of a little fridge, so all the meals are in the main dining hall, which is clean and efficient, but lacks that 'special' restaurant vibe.
The evening entertainment was mixed - some of it dreadful (but quite funny actually), most of it mediocre, but for me something was better than nothing, and we were quite happy spending the evening playing pool or cards.

Just come back from a week at this great hotel, lovely location, great hotel & staff, clean, what more can I say, the only negative is that the transfer from Palma took a while - but worth it - definitely recommend it.

Not sure why there are bad reviews for this place. Couldn't ask more from a budget hotel.

The staff all spoke English and were helpful and attentive to us. We arrived late on our first night, and were given the key to the restaurant so we could help ourselves to a drink!

Beds were comfortable, rooms very clean, towels, shower gel and shampoo all provided. The shower was lovely, very powerful, in a clean modern bathroom. Sound does seem to travel through the hotel, mostly people coming back from nights out. Not the best if you're a light sleeper. We were given a sea view as requested.

Breakfast was lovely, with good variety. Fresh fruit, cereal, toast, English breakfast, meats, breads, cheeses, pastries and a variety of juices.

You'll have to be up early if you want a spot by the pool! People seem to leave their towels on sunbeds to 'reserve them' all day even if they are only there for an hour!! Very inconsiderate. The pool itself is the perfect temperature, clean and well maintained. There is a pool bar serving drinks, ice creams and snacks and lots of brollys for shade.

The local beach is a short 10 minute walk away on a coast path with stunning views. A few metres from the hotel is a dive shop and cafe/bar with tiny beach. It's a popular swimming spot with calm clear waters (and not too much sand!).

10-15 minutes walk is the port of Cala Ratjada. Worth a visit. Lovely restaurants. Several cafes selling ice creams, sundaes and smoothies.

The whole area seems to be geared towards Germans. I can understand a bit of Spanish, but not German!! Not helpful in the few places that only have menus in German!! A few Brits about, but not many. Everyone we spoke to was able to communicate in English.

Overall a lovey place. Would visit again!

The hotel is in a lovely location. Our room had views of the pool, the beach, a small diving cove and mountains. The staff were all very friendly and cheerful. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The food was ok, we would have preferred a bit more Spanish and less German, but it was still ok. I would think twice about taking young children. Although the staff were very child friendly there did not seem to for little ones to do, not just in the hotel, but in the resort in general. The hotel seemed better for adults travelling as couples. The hotel was in a lovely area, 4 or 5 different beaches, great views, the harbour, the forestry, shops and great restaurants. There were no expensive trips away, nothing to pay extra, just nice weather and a good quality hotel. My only criticism of the hotel was the lift, it was slow and appeared to save a mind of its own, which was ok for us as we could walk the five floors.

My wife and I have just spent a week in this hotel and thought that it is brilliant. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We had no linguistic difficulties when we wanted information or help. The hotel atmosphere (meaning its patrons) is friendly and when some German youngsters got a bit boisterous the staff handled the situation very well. No English yobs around, thank heavens. The hotel is clean, in a fresh condition and seems to be well-loved by its staff. We enjoyed the food and intend to go back for more. As my wife has back problems we emailed the hotel in advance with specific requests, which were fulfilled. The room had a wonderful view over the sea. We didn't actually want to go into the centre and were very happy lounging by the pool or walking along the coast to the local beach. That was pretty much what the others did as well, although the youngsters may have spent their nights partying in other places. The one piece of advice that we would give the (very) less fit is that the hotel is on hill and the best way to get into the town centre is to get a taxi; the cost is minimal as it is a short ride. I liked the overall sense of care and decency. We didn't feel like we were treated as spending machines, like we have been in Egypt. When we balanced up the costs we decided to upgrade to all-inclusive and felt that the freedom that it gave us not to think about money was worth it.

Room Tip: Send an email to the staff asking for a sea view.

Got a room on the first floor with no sea or pool view, which is ok, but it seems they're trying to install families with children in the darkest part.

English speaker? Forget it there. The staff will be surprised you don't speak German and the pool bar guy will not make attempts to understand you.

The food consisted of several leftovers (especially spaghettis were nearly burnt and raw!). Also, no pancakes or the cook show they talk about in their hotel description.

No hot drink like tea or coffee except for breakfast, but again, if you insist, they'll make you one (will taste horribly salty). Need to warm some baby food? There's one microwave in their restaurant, but they won't help you if it's closed. There's a second one in the pool bar, but I kind of lost all hope in that place when the bartender told me he has a microwave, but it doesn't work and that giving babies cold milk makes them stronger. I will try not to comment more on that.

Last thing: killed two huge cockroaches in the bathroom on our first day.

Room Tip: Avoid this place if you can!
