We too have just returned from a week at this hotel, this was our first experience of a HV and we absolutely LOVED IT. We thought the hotel was super. Although we have not been to a HV we have stayed in 5* hotels before and I personally thought this met every single expectation. We stayed in a suite which was lovely, lovely decoration, ultra modern, we had maid service every single day which was great with two small kids. Both our kids loved the entertainment and i thought the FC staff were great. The food was lovely and plenty of choice, and it didn't bother me having to get my own drinks, i was perfectly happy to do that. The only small issues i would suggest is that i think it would be helpful for the restaurant to open earlier in the evening. our youngest is only 18 months old and i think 6:30pm is a little late for her to be eating in the evening, also everyone was gathering outside the restaurant at 6:30pm to get in as soon as it opened as the little ones were hungry. I think if the restaurant opened at 5:30pm then it would stop the stampede at 6:30pm.

Also i also agree with the previous review on here that the FC staff should prob tell you more about the hotel at their welcome meeting rather than just focusing on excursions. We also saw people eating pizza but had do idea where they had got this from, we had no idea the itallian restaurant was available throughout the day, this would have been useful to know, we also did not have any idea that there was a cinema club, or a reading room where you could lend books from.

We were also slightly confused by having to pay for the safe as we have also never encountered this before but this is only a minor issue.

All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would not hesitate to return or recommend this hotel, we had a great time and it was a great first experience of a holiday village

Stayed here for a week between 5th May and 12th May 2013 with the Mrs and 4 year old daughter. Very nice hotel and was very impressed with the room we had overlooking the pool area. Everything in the room was brand new and could smell the newness soon as you walked in. There was a TV in the lounge and bedroom with pretty much all of the free view channels including Cbeebies. Had problems with the aircon to begin with and it operates on an automatic system whereby when the room hits a certain temp it will turn itself off. Could not get the Wifi to work all week and the connection was pants. Food is excellent and covered up all the time, staff very friendly all round and the kids entertainment team work hard to keep the kids happy. The pools are freezing cold especially the kids pool but they will probably warm up as the weather gets better. Loads of ice cream and drinks throughout the day generally a very good holiday and my daughter enjoyed it which is the main thing. Recommend a visit to Marineland it is expensive but the Sea Lion and Dolphin show is worth a watch if you haven't seen anything like it before. We paid £107 for 2 adults and a child.

This protur monte safari hotel in cala millor is now a first choice holiday village.

My wife and I have just spent a week there with our 2 year old and 10 year old.

Overall very good. The hotel has just under gone an extensive revamp, and is finished to a good standard. Our room, a 3rd storey apartment with twin room, lounge with bed settees, balcony with pool view was immaculate.

There was lots for the kids to do, kids clubs, activities etc, along with several pools and splash areas which was great for the toddlers. The main pools were huge with ample of space round as nearly all guests had young families (as expected) and they as like us required the smaller child friendly pools. These were very busy and sunbeds were normally reserved/taken before 7 am so it was a bit of "the early bird catches the worm scenario". This would be much worse in peak season I would imagine.

This leads me on to the same conclusion regarding the eating areas. Whilst we were early in the season, the main restaurant and pool restaurant were a bit like feeding time at the zoo, and was getting very chaotic as the week progressed.

The food was ok! Quite a bit of choice, but stayed exactly the same all week, so very monotonous. However they seemed to serve food right from breakfast, throughout the day all day and even had sandwiches at 11pm.

There was 3 specialist restaurants that was available, to one visit each per week, we dined in the Italian which was ok, was a bit of a relief to be out of the mad dash to be fair.

All staff were very polite and friendly, and the reps were on hand all day.

We had a couple of days where we had a short period of no running water, but this was soon rectified ( normally within 15 minutes ).

Maid service was good and very nice friendly maids daily.

There was a spa facility available to those who had any time (or no kids).

The outside was landscaped nicely. Very accessible even to those in wheel chairs.

Overall very good and we would go again, however we did go to Marina Parc Hotel in Menorca last year and would favour this over the holiday village. Although this is purely our own personal view.

Hope this is of help.

Ill try to remain as fair as possible.... the positives - kids clubs and staff, the room interiors and pools are lovely......what spoiled my holiday was the duplex apartment and roof terrace. First choice should be ashamed for selling this holiday with a stunning planned appearance which did not live up to its promise. I felt completely conned and it ruined my holiday. No where close to 5 stars standards please do not be fooled into booking with First Choice based on the planned appearances for anyone considering this hotel...be warned

Room Tip: dont pay first choice for a duplex

We have just returned from a week at Holiday Village Majorca, with our three children aged 1, 6 and 8 years. We have been to others, so knew what to expect. In contrast to the other review posted we had a great holiday. We knew that this was the first week that the hotel was open and went expecting that there may be snagging issues. However, our experience was a happy one. We had no issues at all.

We found the hotel staff to be fantastically helpful and caring. The First Choice staff were fine, but we barely spoke to them as we didn't use the kids clubs or do any of the activities.

The food was delicious and varied. It was beautifully presented and a lack of labelling on some things didn't bother us, it was easy to tell what most things were by looking. By the end of our week there nearly every food was labelled anyway. We were happy to get our own drinks etc and there were bars where you could get drinks poured for you. We did have difficulty getting a booking at one of the A La Carte restaurants, which we wanted to go to for our wedding anniversary, but Reception sorted that out. We went to the Italian restaurant, La Gondolier, and it wasn't as good as the main self service buffet, mainly because it was so busy and there weren't enough waiting staff. However, the food there was good.

The pools were all fine, but the main pool and splash pool were a little cold (normal for this time of year in Majorca). Our room was a Suite. Everything worked perfectly, two tvs, which you could watch different channels on at the same time (helpful for some down time for the kids). The fittings in the room were beautiful, everything had been thought of. Our only possible, small, request might have been a small dustpan and brush as we came back from the beach at Cala Millor and the place got very sandy and we had to wait a day for it to be cleaned up! Otherwise we found everything to be fine. The deposit box in the room is only usable by paying a daily deposit, which we thought was very bizarre - if that's the case why provide one in the room at all? I have never experienced that system at a hotel before.

The entertainment at the hotel was fine. The children really enjoyed the first few nights but then found it a bit samey. The later entertainment was ok, we really enjoyed the Ancorra evening - an Il Divo tribute act and the kids loved that too. More outside acts would be good. We noticed on the day we left (yesterday) that there would be a Chinese Circus show that evening, which we would have liked.

There is everything you need at the hotel, a very well stocked market, a laundry (we didn't use this but would if we stayed two weeks), a doctor. We found out on the day we left that there was a cinema club and that you could get pizza during the day from the italian restaurant.

We did feel that we hadn't been given enough information about what was available at the hotel at the welcome meeting, it was more of a chance for First Choice to plug their excusions than to tell you about the hotel itself. We would have welcomed being given a map of the hotel and information about the spa, cinema club and other information about activities there instead of being told about their trips to various other places.

When we left it had started to get very busy there. Not sure what it will be like once everything is finished and they are at full capacity, but with the excellent staff there I am sure the hotel will go from strength to strength.

Thank to the Holiday Village Majorca for a fantastic holiday!

Room Tip: If you want sun on your balcony all day, ask for a pool facing room. Block 1 is nearest to the Reception and main restaurant.
