Hipotels Dunas Cala Millor

The Dunas was okay, nothing great but nothing bad. At first, we felt like we were still in Germany as most of the guests were German. The staff initially greeted & spoke to us in German...btw, we aren't German. Thankfully, the staff was multilingual! The staff was friendly, helpful, and for the most part, accomodating.
Sitting on our balcony, we had a great view of the beach & the entire bay. It was a peaceful area, not loud with partiers but that may have been due to the time of year.
The room was all right, nothing fancy but we just needed a place to lay our weary heads. Kitchenette was fully stocked with utensils, pots/pans, dishes, etc. Caution! Do not leave any food out! One bag of snacks wasn't closed fully & the next morning we woke to ants on the counter.
Just a short walk from the Dunas is the promenade with stores, bars, & restaurants...close enough for a nice stroll, far enough to enjoy the quiet.
Although this place was okay, I don't think we would stay here again. I felt we had to drive a bit to actually get an actual feel for Mallorca.

The standard of this Hotel certainly merits its *4* status. Rooms were well appointed and beds comfortable. The rooms were cleaned 6 days out of 7 during our stay and the maids took a pride in their work which was visible by the cleanliness maintained throughout. The food was varied and the chef also cooked fresh meat to order. Although this Hotel is mainly used by Germans this did not in anyway detract from our holiday. Excellent indoor pool and jacuzzi. At reception you can get a towel for a deposit of 15 euros . Will certainly be going back. There was nothing negative at all and all staff made you very welcome.

Just back from a family break in Calla Millor and stayed at the Dunas. Super location as beach is just a stone throw away from the hotel. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful but their English was not great. The hotel guests were almost all german and we were the only british family staying at the hotel that particular week. However, this was not a problem and the entertainment manager Isaac went out of his way to include my children in all the entertainment activities throughout the week, The hotel was spotlessly clean as was the apartment. The cleaners were in 6 days per week and did an excellent job! The pool was not huge but big enough and my children enjoyed playing in the pool everyday. If you want a sunbed near the pool to watch your children, I would suggest you set your alarm for 8 am and go and put towells down on your desired sunbeds. Almost all the sunbeds are claimed by around 9am.

Although the food was fine in the Dunas it was very much geared towards the german diet. We found a super litter restaurant on the beach front (5 mins walk from Dunas) called Pearls de Mar. The staff were friendly here and the food was good and not too expensive!

Call Millor is a lovely resort and I would not hesitate to go back to the Dunas.

This was the second time in a year that we have stayed at the Aparthotel. We had a fabulous suite facing the seafront with an additional balcony overlooking the pool. The location is excellent, close enough to enjoy the bars and restaurants (and of course the beach), but far enough away not to be disturbed by any late night noise (except for the sound of the sea).

The reception staff were excellent, The clientele were mostly German, as is the resort, but we found this to be a benefit rather than a negative aspect.

Highly recommended..!

Room Tip: We asked for a room close to the beach and were allocated a perfect apartment at the front of the ap...

We have stayed at other Hipotels before at this resort and they have all been very good. The room at the Dunas was absolutley huge. Lovely big wardrobes with loads of hangers. Plenty of cupboard space, nice well equiped kitchen area and lounge and a view of beach from lounge and bedroom. Food was excellent as always, and we always end up eating too much.!!
Would recommend this chain of hotels whole heartedly. But perhaps I shouldnt say that as we will have trouble booking next time. !

I went with my 5 year old and 10 year old. The weather was fantastic. The hotel is an hour by taxi from the airport, we paid 66 euros for the taxi. The hotel in an ideal location - on the beach, one or two minutes walk to shops and restaurants. The indoor heated pool is small by great for cool days. The outdoor pool is big enough. the service is excellent, all staff are very friendly. The entertainer, Isaac, was brilliant. The food is all freshly cooked and there is a huge amount of it. Breakfast as you would expect - hot and cold options. We are on half board and dinner was fine. Catering mainly (nearly exclusively for Germans) so very mild (no spices etc.) quite bland you could say but plenty of options. Also every night you can have fish etc. cooked to order. Spotlessly clean everywhere.

The room was normal (not luxury) but a huge living room with big balcony, fab sea views. The kitchen is big, with microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, all pans, dishes etc. Tons of storage space (firtst time I have had too much wardroble space. The children were very happy and confortable on the sofas, At no time will you fell cramped.

We went into a few of the other hotels on this road (the 5 star hipotel is over the road - not worth double the money in my opinion unless you want to avoid children) - the Sumba did not look as good, bit poky.

The beach is stunning, crystal clear water, very clean sandy beach and the water is shallow for maybe half a mile - safe enough for my 5 year old.

Highly recommend this hotel - most relaxing and beautiful location. Will be going again as soon as I can!

One negative - the mattress was extremely hard - actually uncomfortable. Beware the pony/horse ride excursion as the horses were unruly and very difficult for the children to control - no hard hats provided and most of the children ended up crying hysterically. Similarly with the Segways - no safety equipment and one of the other child guests ended up seriously injured.

If you are self catering try to find the Aldi - go out the reception entrance, turn right, walk for a couple of minutes and turn left by the Europcar place, cross the pony field and there it is (10 minute walk) - much cheaper than the Spars.

All the staff speak German and the German quests are friendly and polite. Maybe hard for your children to make friends easily though. Mine got by fine. All the telly is in German except for BBC News but it is too beautiful a place to watch telly anyway.

Room Tip: We were happy on the fourth floor. Pool view will have the noise from the disco (8:30 to 10).

Beach front location at the end of the longest promenade ever - great for the able-bodied and families who do not want to be in the busy town centre about 20 mins walk away. Good places to eat nearby (definitely try Pizzeria Venecia!) - better than town centre in my opinion. Our 6th floor apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable and recently refurbished with a well equipped kitchenette. Nothing shoddy, grotty or tatty. Breakfast buffet really good - great variety, fresh, well presented. Clientele mostly German middle-class families and oldies.

The staff are open, friendly, happy, doing their jobs efficiently and keen to please. Only spoke German to them though so cannot comment on their English. Even the usually cheesy hotel entertainment was actually very good thanks to the unrelenting enthusiasm of the entertainments manager, Santino, who catered to kids and parents alike!

Indoor and outdoor pools very nice. Everything of a very high standard. For a hotel in the mass tourism industry this is really about as good as it can be. The only negatives are things beyond the control of the staff such as the sound insulation in the rooms (not great), the size of the restaurant and buffet area (too small) and the behaviour of some of the guests (loud and smoking in a non-smoking hotel). None of those things would stop me going again however as the hotel's advantages greatly outweigh these minor irritations. We had a great 10 day holiday with B&B option out of season (October) when the hotel appeared to be about half full. Must be very crowded indeed in Summer though.
