Have just returned from a very pleasant stay at Don Jaime. We found the staff to be very
friendly and the room was simple but clean. We were pleased to try the variety of Spanish
food on offer, not always easy to find in Spain !We shared a table with a charming couple
from N.Ireland who also enjoyed it there. We will definitely be back again.

After booking this holiday off teletext, I began to read dreadful things about the Don Jamie and sadly all of it was true. The resort of Cala Millor is fab and would recommend. The Don Jamie however is a different story.

I paid to stay half board and the food was unrecognisable and inedible. Manky chicken, greasy eggs and the worst thing of all was that none of the food matched to make a meal. The food was off, cold and not nice at all and most nights we had to eat out.

And the food is the nicest bit sadly. A large apartment was filthy dirty and falling to bits, a dirty bath with no taps, a shower that barely worked and very rude staff.

If i was to say anything positive about the Don Jamie, it would be that it needs demolishing.

There are people who who are prepared to eat and drink any hovel that is put in front of them, but many ended up with bad stomachs.

Positives

The hotel and the room we stayed in were generally clean
The evening meal was for most of our trip pretty good. Always something to eat and a decent choice.
The location was good (away from busy bars etc and the hotel entertainment always stopped at a reasonable time)
Most of the staff were friendly and provided good service.

Negatives

You are forced to share a table with other guests of the hotel at meal/breakfast times (thus if there are 2 of you, expect another couple to have to sit with you) this is most uncomfortable and unnecessary when there are plenty of other empty tables nearby. Why they do this I dont know but it is enough to mean that we would not return again.

The breakfast on offer was very standard, warm milk and cheap quality orange juice.

The hotel rooms need refurbishment (the drawers in our room were broken) the television had barely any channels and the reception was all fuzzy.

Kitchen staff stood staring at you when you were putting food on your plate at meal times makes it feel a bit like a prison.

All in all, the hotel was not worth the money we paid for it (it was fine for what we wanted) but would not return and believe with greater research could get a better hotel than this one which is a shame as it could be made much better with a bit of t.l.c and investment.

The first room my wife and I were allocated, the airconditioning wasn't working and the curtians had not been hung properly. This not being suitable, we were shown 2 other rooms. The 2nd room, the aircon was working but very noisy. The 3rd room which was the best of the 3 had a very poor shower which had a leaking hose and a shower curtian which was too small for the fitting. The beds ! well, every time you turned over in bed there was a loud boiiiing and you got a spring in your back.
There was no telephone in any of the rooms we were shown as advertised and none of the food at meal times was labelled.
We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
