My girlfriend and I returned yesterday from a week's all inclusive stay at the Hotel Blue Sea La Pinta. It was on the whole a great stay, but as the title of my review suggests: it IS a budget hotel, providing a fairly basic level of accomodation. We had Room 36 in the La Pinta 2 block, which is accross the road from the main hotel. It was basic, but clean and functional, with an excellent shower, and small balcony; which had only wooden 'sit up & beg' chairs, and no privacy at all. So not used much. On the plus side, however, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The maid service was excellent. I note other reviews have mentioned the noise! I must agree that the walls are paper thin, and you can hear doors opening and closing everywhere. On one occasion my girlfriend was convinced that we had someone else in the room as she could hear them sneezing as she was taking a shower!! So don't get too amerous at night when everyone else are in their rooms.

The dining room and food were very basic. Chips every day, but the lunches I found to be the best meal of the day. There was generally something to take your fancy, and the fish was usually great.

The hotel is conveniently located, whith all the resort facilities close to hand, but this does mean that you may become aware of street cleaning, bin emptying etc during the wee small hours. The resort was excellent, and still fairly busy during our stay. Can't speak too highly of the general layout, and the sence of well being evident, even late at night. Unfortunately the only drunken behaviour, shouting, swearing etc coming from the Brits.

The hotel staff were almost without exception excellent. Yes it's true all the drinks are served in plastic containers, but you are allowed two at a time ! And Angela found 'sex on the beach' to be a revelation.

In conclusion: a basic hotel offering a budget priced experience, but doing it's best to provide a no frills holiday. As the wise man said 'You get what you pay for'.

Room Tip: We had a room in La Pinta 2. Perhaps if you are looking for some peace & quiete this may be the best option ?? But beware the walls are very thin.

My girlfriend and I arrived back yesterday after a week all inclusive at the La Pinta. After passing through the town and seeing other hotels I was a little surprised by the first view of the hotel. It looks much smaller than many of the surrounding hotels and this has always been a good sign because generally the service feels more personal. Checking in was easy and the lady was helpful and friendly. We were staying in a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the La Pinta 2. The room was average size from other hotels I have stayed in and was basic but functional and had a TV. The room was tired to be polite, having chipped floor tiles, mould in the bathroom and worn curtains but I was happy enough taking the price into account. The door lock on our room was faulty and had to be checked 2 or 3 time as it often could be opened by wiggling the outside handle. The very annoying part about our stay in the room was how much noise could be herd from other rooms doors/ furniture. I would advise anyone to bring ear plugs as walls are very thin!
The food in the hotel was very poor compared to other places I have stayed at a similar price range and nothing was labelled. The food was budget at best and often felt to be recycled from the day before, not the greatest when it comes to rice, chicken or pasta. Breakfast was comical at times with people huddles around the toaster or fighting for cutlery. Also the plates were often improperly washed and had food remains stuck to the underside. One gentleman collected his breakfast then realised a butter packet from a previous meal was stuck to the underside of his plate. It was a big turn off from eating in the hotel so we started eating out (see reviews for the sun deck!!). The staff are quite abrupt and even a bit rude at times with the exception of the lady's working on reception who were more than helpful and always happy. The bar served drinks in small plastic cup as most hotels do but the quality and selection was poor so again we went out. Cala Millor is a great place for a break. Its beaches are large and feel very safe, as does the general feel of the town which is nice. I will visit cala Millor again but will not stay at the La Pinta. It has the feel of a hotel where the same people have visited every year for years on end and know no better or what else they could get for similar cash outlay which is a shame as Majorca has some amazing hotels in a similar price range. If the management made a few small tweeks and fine tuned the service it could be a great hotel but looking at the replys to other reviews they are either not bothered or simply happy as they are. Poor show by them either way.

Room Tip: I have no first hand experience of the La Pinta 2 but from outside views and other reviews its the better place to stay if you really want to stay it this hotel. Its much newer and modern looking. Also stay room only and eat out as you will end up doing this anyway.

Just back from our stay at Hotel La Pinta from September 29th to October 4th.

An absolute amazing stay from the minute we got there!!

We arrived at midnight and they gave us food!! That's brilliant !

We went fully inclusive. You need to go fully inclusive . The food is absolutely amazing and the choice is second to none! There is so many different types of food and they all taste delicious.

Wow the drinks are brilliant too ... So they put them in plastic cups... So what?! Get over it. I did. I kept refilling as many times as I wanted .

There was San Miguel on tap and cocktails too!

A mixture of spirits too. The staff are really helpful and the rooms are fantastic.

The hotel is sooo close to the beach and the beach and sea are the best !!!

The main nightlife street is even closer than the beach this is the best holiday myself and my gf have been on and we will be returning with our friends !!

A cheapy week away in the Blue Sea La Pinta. Didn't expect 5 star for what we paid. Basic room and facilities. Nice area. Food was of limited variety, breakfast ok had picnic lunch for a couple of days provided by the hotel. Evening meal was not of great choice but sufficient. Rooms were basic and clean. Pool was freezing!
