“Good budget holiday”
Reviewed June 29, 2009

The apartments are clean and basic centered around the pool area - all English visitors. I did not eat at the complex but there was a good choice of meals available. As long as you don't pay too much you won't be disappointed. Reception staff extremely helpful (all english speaking). I booked with an online travel agent so got this break relatively cheaply. Lots of families with small children.

GOSH where do you start!!!!! Absolutely fantastic, could not have wished for a better holiday.
We went to Cala Millor for my husbands 40th birthday as a surprise and the whole family enjoyed every second.
The apartments were very clean, everyone was very helpful and the entertainment was fantastic. The entertainment was aimed at all ages, our family consists of 2 adults, 17, 14 and 10 year old and was thorougly enjoyed all round.
We ate out all the time and the local resturants were fab although a little over priced. The best place we ate was 'La Sangria' very good value for the money and had a huge variety of dishes on the menu to suit all. If you are looking for something for a special ocassion we would highly recommend 'El Pescador' in cala bona and also 'Xaloc' which are both situated overlooking the harbour.
We would certainly not recommend the 'Rose and Crown' for some reason this place has previously been recommended, the staff were very rude and we were ignored on sevceral occasions.

Cala Millor and its nieghboring resorts still hold thier traditional spanish looks and not the commercial looks of some other resorts on the island.

We stayed at the Christina in May/June 2008 - 4 adults and five children.

The complex looks a bit ropey from the outside but don't be put off - it's well maintained, clean and the service from the staff and reps (Thompson) is friendly and helpful. The apartments we had were clean, functional and had all that you needed (including Cbeebies on the television!)

The other reviews will likely tell you this already, but this is a family/children orientated apartment complex; The evening entertainment is mixed (magicians, dancers,'cabaret' acts etc) but largely aimed at the kids. It finishes strictly at 12 midnight and we found that the complex was always quiet after that time - no lager louts.

The daytime events were well organised by Becky and David (David is actually a local) and the kids clubs were enjoyed by the little ones.

All in all we had a good time at the Christina and would happily go back again; I can recommend these apartments which are good value for families

  • Liked — Attractive layout (on the inside!), good pool and bar - easy to get about inside the complex
  • Disliked — Location - its not in the best part of town and further from the beach than we would have liked

Would'nt recomend this hotel, hotelier very rude.
I f you like a cold shower then this is the place for you.
Full of rough holiday makers that spoil it for the minority.

The christina apartments were great, we had a really good holiday, given this is the first holiday i had been on for 7 years, i would have been devistated if i had a rotten time, the apartments were clean, spacious, tv was hardly on but there was one there with a few satalite channels, there was also a microwave, hob and toaster, as well as a kettle, the shop had everything you needed including making birthday cakes/occassion cakes to order, (thanks to my husband for mine). The kids had a fantastic time around the pool area, which had games at some point of every day, the kids had a great time at the kids club and the girls who ran that were really good, and other entertainment including pool and darts comps...the snack bar was open during the day, with plenty of choice, as well as the poolside bar,The main restaurant was limited so i would eat out most nights as its very reasonable to eat out.,

The entertainment at night was family orientaited, the kids liked knowing their disco is on at a certain time every night, but it was close enough to town that if you got fed up you could walk into town, we got down to town/beach area in 15 minutes and that was walking at my disabled mother in laws pace, there is a bit of a hill though the walk down was ok but back wasnt so good my mother in law had to take a taxi but that wasnt expensive it was 3 euros from the beach back to the hotel.

In town there is plenty of choice for shopping and food, plenty of english bars/restaurants and local fayre to suit all tastes, you can walk to near by calla bona too if you like to go for a wander,

The rep that was there was a guy who to be honest wasn't that interested, but i blame thomsons for that and not the apartments,
in the main reception area they also have 2 computers that you can pay to use, which isnt expensive, but the kids usually hog them. Hotel staff were very friendly and polite, also very helpful.

maid service was in 5 from seven days theres even a wee note in the room telling you what days they wont be there, the towels were changed regularly with 5 of us in the room i would have know had they not been, and the bedding changed regularly,

we had such a great time that i have done something i never really do and that is book straight away to go back again next year.

  • Liked — Family orientated, good fun
  • Disliked — the restaurant, and thank god the first opinion didnt reflect the overall experience, people felt sorry for us when we got off the bus, but on meeting back up we had the best of the hotels.

The apartments were superb. Everything very clean. No kettles but you can rent one for €3 per week, so no need to take one like we did.
Only drawback is do not go unless you love kids. Impossible to swim for all the li-los, balls and kids.
The entertainment is kiddie based.
The poolside cafe was good, but watch out for the hot chicken, we had to throw it away as it was cold in the middle.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, reception, bar etc cannot be faulted.
Internet available at €1 for 20 minutes.
Hard work sleeping if you are near the pool as noisy teenagers throwing each other in and shouting were the norm, with no interference from staff.

  • Liked — Spacious well equipped apartments
  • Disliked — Meant for young children
